Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Bot Bash Party”.
We build miniature fighting robots and we show up at birthday parties with a whole arena and fighting robots, so the kids get to experience a whole robot war at their home or all of our gear here at bob bash is custom built everything’s made at home. We made their arenas out of a wash pan from home depot. The glass is actually picked up from tap plastics and we custom design and make each of these robots. We actually did an article in make magazine called cardboard, aided design where we talked about how we design our little monsters and how it’s so simple.
Anyone could do this in their garage. Something exciting coming from bob bash. This summer is going to be our first summer camp program, so for years we’ve been going to kids birthday parties where they get to play with the robots we’ve built, but everybody wants to build their own. So we’ve actually designed a kit here at bob bash. We call the battle brick kit, that uses all fingertech robotics components, but then we make this custom frame that can build any robot. You want to build, there’s five different slots for the motors three different sizes of middle rails and anything you can imagine we can make out of one of these kits so coming up soon, we’ll have 16 kids in a camp. They each build their own fighting robot! That’S based on their own design.
We talk about physics and engineering as we go through a five day, long course, and on the fifth day we set up an arena and the kids duke it out with the robots they built.
