Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Astro C40 TR Controller – Unboxing & Overview”.
What’S up everyone how’s it going! This watch hope you guys are all doing well, so i’m very excited to bring you guys an unboxing and overview of the c40 from astro gaming. Now i’ve uh pre-ordered this several several months ago. This is actually for specifically the playstation and the pc, and the big thing that this has that pretty much no other controller is going to deliver. Is the ability to swap out the analog thumbsticks for the digital pad, so it’s very customizable we’re going to figure out. What’S inside the box, it looks very nice from the outside packaging perspective, so let’s open up that there, okay, so as you can see really nice overall job with the packaging, we have a little blueprint style layout on that and let’s go ahead and slide this bad Boy, open, okay, it looks like we have a case and that’s it for that box.
Quick start guide: oh nice little a nice little overview of the different functionality of the buttons and the mapping. Obviously this is fully configurable as well. So we’ll take a look at that later on warranty information and let’s get inside this nice old, solid, semi, hard shell carrying case, and there is the c40 controller. It looks awesome, uh first impression.
The feel of it is absolutely amazing. It’S kind of this rubberized plastic texture more grippy surface at the bottom. We got the bottom mounted buttons right there and we’ll take a look at this thing in more depth. Inside the case, you can see that we have a little tool kit as well as some different analog thumb sticks.
My guess is for different height sizes and yep. So we’ll take a look at that different uh concave and convex textures there. Here’S the 2.4 gigahertz wireless adapter – and this is probably the cable – and here is the micro usb cable, pretty standard, it’s not braided, which is unfortunate, but you could use this to obviously charge the controller. Now here is the absolutely gorgeous c40 controller. The thumb sticks straight away, feel absolutely amazing, really really responsive. Have a nice kind of clicky kind of hard stop feel to them, which is nice.
Everything sounds, oh, my god. The buttons feel really nice very mechanical like so at the bottom. We have these trigger stoppers.
Over here, for like rapid fire or for a full range pressing mode, which is nice feel really great here are the bottom mounted uh rear buttons, probably a connection little adapter for a headset right there. You can also pull out these triggers, which is nice, but the key. A main feature of this controller is the fact that you can have. The thumb sticks in this kind of classic parallel configuration that the playstation is known for or you can have them offset in, like an xbox configuration.
So let’s go ahead and unscrew these hex screws and do that and see how fast that can happen. Okay, okay, so that just pops out with four screws right there pretty easy and it looks like yeah. This is fully modular, as you can see, so you can actually probably buy a spare pair of these if you ever break them or need a replacement, and we could simply take out that d-pad again, it’s kind of hot swappable pop it right down there have it Offset configuration, obviously, these xy buttons um actually cannot be swapped, so this is pretty much permanently fixed there, but now we have that classic xbox offset configuration and we can now screw everything back with the four hex screws and it only takes actually a couple of turns To actually fasten this facebook back on, which is cool and i’m sure later on down the road people will be customizing the different face plates and a whole bunch of aspects of this controller, but straight out of the box, a really nice feeling, i’m really excited to Use this on both my pc and my playstation 4., and we’re also going to be uh. Comparing this thing to the scuff vantage controller, also available out, there got released several months back, so it’s going to be interesting to see how this thing compares against that higher end.
