As always, we can’t put too much trust into Apple’s performance numbers, but remember last year, when we were laughing at Apple for being so confident that its new ARM powered Mac would blow Windows PCs out of the water ( Riley chuckles ), I do., Oh also Apple – Took the squishy bits off the AirPods Pro and that’s the new AirPods. So now you’re all caught up.. Meanwhile, Apple haters have reason to rejoice. That Windows 11 bug that was stifling gaming performance on Ryzen based systems might finally be getting resolved..
The latest build on the Windows. Insider channel reportedly fixes the problem as well as a number of other wrinkles in the new OS.. The gaming slowdowns were a result of high latency on the level three cache specifically of Ryzen CPUs, There’s also another issue where Windows 11 won’t assign tasks to the fastest core of some Ryzen chips, though this is apparently going to be fixed via a driver patch from Amd not through Microsoft. Both fixes should be rolled out during the middle of the week.
And if they’re, not Microsoft, can always ask for some help from Apple because man they suck, but their CPU’s do not. They’re so.. How do they do it? Speaking of CPU shenanigans, you might want to think twice about picking up a shiny, new Alder Lake 12th gen Intel processor. If you like, your older games.
Alder Lake will be the first x86 CPU to use a hybrid CPU architecture, because we are not counting Lakefield.. I’M trying to forget it., Anyways, hybrid CPU’s, combine powerful cores with efficient ones and Alder Lake’s implementation apparently isn’t playing nicely with DRM in games. Major DRM provider. Denuvo is reportedly updating their solutions to work with Alder Lake, but even different games from the same publisher may use different or multiple DRM systems., And it’s unclear whether DRM software used by older games will get the same treatment..
So it may be wise to wait and confirm which games will work and which won’t before running out to buy your new chip. Unless you’ve sworn to only buy games from GOG in protest against the big platforms.. That’S a game store with no DRM.. You’Ve been there..
