Apple 16 Inch Space Black M3 Max MacBook Pro Unboxing & First Impressions

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Apple 16 Inch Space Black M3 Max MacBook Pro Unboxing & First Impressions”.
We got ourselves a new Macbook Pro. This is the new 16-in M3 Max MacBook Pro, and it is in space black. So let’s go ahead and unbox it and see what we got here all right and then just to give a little bit of context on what configuration this Mac is. It is a 16-in MacBook Pro M3 Max in space black.

It is a 16 core, CPU, 40 core GPU, 48 gigs of RAM and a 1 TB SSD all right. It’S a little darker than I expected and it’s very cold ooh black mag safe. I like this a lot we’ll get to that in a minute. Do we get black Apple stickers is a very important question: MacBook Pro regulatory information, two black Apple stickers, very cool cool. It’S funny how you worry about the stickers on a multi MacBook and then, of course, we have our massive power adapter, because this can utilize higher wattages compared to the 14in. All right.

This is darker than I thought now. Obviously it’s called space black and, as I made the joke in the previous video Apple, has 50 Shades of space gray. You never really know what you’re going to expect in terms of color, especially seeing things on the website and what they’ll look like in person.

So this thing looks really slick and obviously based on the midnight MacBook Air people are concerned about fingerprints. So we’ll see how that goes, I’m going to try my best, obviously to keep it looking nice and clean for the unboxing, but in the review I’ll definitely be able to see what this is looking like over time and, of course we have that auto boot. For my last MacBook that I personally bought for myself, I bought a silver 14-inch MacBook Pro just to throw it back retro, because I was kind of over space gray having it for several years. I would definitely go back to this color if this was for my personal computer, and I actually think that this is a really slick color and it honestly screams a little bit more Pro than the space gray or it’s just you know getting over space gray as It’S been out for several years now: uh one thing I’d like to do first is just compare this color to to some other products and we’ll kind of see where the color lines up. So I have a space black iPhone 14 pro and you know, obviously they are called the same color. It’S actually pretty close. Obviously, the stainless steel edges are completely black around the edges of the phone, but the back glass of the phone and and this MacBook are relatively close – probably not exactly the same shade, but very very close. I’Ve got an iPhone 5S in space gray and obviously you can see here.

Space gray is much much much lighter than space black. I have a few other devices, most notably the MVP M1 MacBook Air and obviously that is in space gray and when you put them side by side here it is a significant difference. The MacBook Pro looks so much darker, it’s not pure black. This is not a matte black MacBook Pro to what some people might think or like the black of a 2013 trash can Mac Pro, but it’s getting pretty close to that next would be a space gray iPad.

This is a Sixth Gen iPad. I just happen to see it and grab it same, similar kind of space gray to the English as the main language press. The return key.

This thing wants to be set up, similar space gray to the 5S and the MacBook Air. It is that lighter shade. It’S close to Silver, of course, but it’s got that hint of gray in there and then my last last point of comparison, which obviously has nothing to do with this. But just for the sake of comparison I have a razor blade 15 here so similar size laptop. Actually, what’s funny is this is almost the same exact footprint, but the MacBook is a 16-in display.

Now this is obviously a black razor blade little bit more of a difference. The space black definitely has a more hint of gray that leans more on the side of Apple’s other products. And then you know this razor blade is pure block. So what I’m going to do here is go ahead and set this computer up, get us to the desktop on Mac.

Os Sonoma run a few tests as our first impression here on this new Macbook Pro and we’ll see what that looks like all right. We are now fully set up on the M3 Max MacBook Pro in Mac OS Sonoma. First things. First, I cannotice the 600nits bump.

I went on YouTube. Looked at a couple, SDR videos make sure to disable automatically dim the display on battery, and I, of course disabled. True tone, because that’s my personal preference and you can cannotice that difference of 600 nits for SDR content, and I think anybody that has a studio display to go with this Mac is going to love the fact that both are going to match in terms of brightness. Now the next thing is watching a couple videos in full screen.

I had the realization with Stevie in the fact that you’re looking at your content now on a computer, that’s honestly less distracting and I think this might be a little bit of a placebo effect. But the fact that the whole machine is darker kind of makes you focus a little bit more on the display and the content that you’re engaging with which, which is pretty cool. Now, as a point of reference, I’m going to go ahead and show a couple scores from cinebench as far as a GPU and multicore CPU score goes and I’m going to compare it against a M1, a M2 and an M3 Max all across the board. Just to see our comparisons over the last three generations of Apple silicon, now, if I’m being 100 %, honest criming, a review of this entire new platform as well as this new machine in a couple days, is a little bit unfair to this machine in the fact That I think it’s going to need a couple weeks just to be able to see what it’s like on the daily usage going from editing photos, editing, videos, multitasking its battery life, how it is – and I think all of those things combined is going to make for A separate video that I’m going to do, which is going to be a full-on MacBook Pro review in the next couple weeks.

Now, as far as this particular Mac goes, this M3 Max chip isn’t available to the end of November anyway, so M3 Pro is available to go out and buy on apple.com right now and go pick it up, but M3 Max is not quite available yet now, in The full length review I’m going to pin this against several older Macs that were really popular, the 2021 16-in M1 Max and then going before that a 2018 15-in MacBook Pro and then even before that a 2015 15in Retina Display, because all of those computers are everywhere. You go. I love this color. I think this honestly represents a little bit more of a professional or Pro color, compared to the space gray that we’ve had and really leaves that space gray era behind, especially since Apple just killed the final computer in the MacBook Pro lineup that had the touch bar. That touch bar and Intel space gray era is over now, and we are now fully in the third generation of the Apple silicon era, and I think this is going to be a very, very popular machine for those that are still on the Intel Max of the 2018, 2019 era, and it’s going to be a significant upgrade and honestly, I can’t wait to put this machine through its Paces. I’M going to have it stick in for my M2 Ultra Max studio, that’s at my desk, and this is going to be the full machine that I use for all photo and video editing for the next couple weeks.

To give it a true review, go ahead and keep your eyes peeled on the channel for the full review of this MacBook Pro coming this week. Thank you guys. So much for watching drop a comment Down Below on your thoughts of the new Macbook Pros and have a good night. .
