Omen Transcend 14 – Super Thin and Light!

Omen Transcend 14 - Super Thin and Light!

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Omen Transcend 14 – Super Thin and Light!”.
All right, so it’s! Finally here we got our hands on the new HP. Omen transcend 14. Now you guys saw me talk about this in my previous CES video, where we got to get a sneak peek at the prototype, for this laptop and Omen was cool enough to not only sponsor today’s video but send us the final version. So, let’s check this thing out now. This is supposed to be a really big deal for the omen lineup because it is by far their lightest gaming laptop. Yet it’s made with magnesium aluminum Allo and I got to say you guys.

This thing is solid. There’S like no flex over here, this is a really sturdy laptop and it honestly doesn’t even look like a gaming laptop. It look like it can be for whatever you want it to be.

So, like I said, this thing is a 14in laptop, so it’s got a 2.8k OLED display it’s a glossy display, but colors are really vibrant: 120 HZ, refresh rate and 1 millisecond response time now in terms of ports, you got Thunderbolt 4 and a headphone jack on The left side in the back we’ve got an HDMI, 2.1 Port, USB C 3.2 and then two USB a 3.2 ports as well. So you get ports all over this thing, but what’s nice is having the HDMI and that USBC port in the back, so that if you’re charging it or maybe having this thing connected to, I don’t know a monitor or a display of some sort. It all runs through the back, allowing you to have like a clean setup, and let me tell you the unboxing experience for this laptop is pretty unique, because not only are you you getting the laptop itself, but you get a hyper X Cloud 3 wireless headset, bundled In Allin, one box, which is something we’ve never seen before, especially considering hyper X, makes really good gaming headsets. It’S just really nice to be able to unbox the transcend 14 and then unbox a pair of cloud 3 wireless and then being able to immediately have them work together. We’Ll talk more about that part later. So when you got this like lightweight form factor, you got a nice display like this, you got dedicated graphics. You can have an up to an RTX 4070 in here, as well as having the new Intel Core Ultra processors inside of here. This has a core Ultra H, so that means it’s high performance.

The idea here is for you to be able to take this thing everywhere and do a bit of everything. So for me personally, I like a laptop that can do a little bit of it all. Uh, so for me, productivity is going to absolutely come up. I’M GNA have to be able to type and do emails and just handle everyday work kind of things that we do over here.

I’M going to use this typing test to see if my words per minute increases or decreases. I’Ve been sitting around 70 for a while. I broke that record recently with around what 80 to 90. So, let’s see how it goes here: okay, 82 wordss per minute! So definitely a solid keyboard.

It’S really really quiet! You guys can hear with the keyboard you’ll notice that you know it’s a gaming keyboard right, so you’re going to get RGB lights now with the RGB lights. Here it is four zone. So it’s not going to be like per key or single zone where you can just control one color. You got four zones that you can choose between and you can go into the omen light Studio to completely customize the way the RGB looks now. These do have like this border around the key cap, so the keyboard stands out a little bit more with this one, especially with the RGB lights. But overall I think it’s a solid keyboard and trackpad experience all right.

So to no surprise to some of you, you know I had to fire up some Apex Legends on here now I usually look at much larger gaming laptops whenever I’m trying to play Apex or anything like competitive whatsoever, and I got to say I was able to Get some matches in with no problem now. This is running a 4060 in here, so chances are you’re not going to want to max out the settings. For me, I was able to play pretty comfortably at around. Like I’d, say, mid settings you’re definitely going to want to tweak the settings a bit, so it can run smoothly. I was able to hover around 60 frames and still play with no problem, and, while you might not have like the settings crank to the max what’s nice is that this display looks so good that it kind of makes up for it now. For me personally, I like a nice vibrant display where the colors really pop now so, even though I’m not able to crank all the settings to the max being able to hover around 60 frames and still have it look good overall, I’m not mad.

Considering it’s not a big beefy gaming laptop now, my machine is a 4060, but you can go up to 4070. If you feel like you need a little bit more power or you want to crank the settings a little bit more now, we haven’t even talked about one of the biggest bonuses of this laptop and that’s the fact that it comes with this gaming headset. Now the cloud 3 wireless – listen, I’m a hyperx fan, okay and what’s nice here – is that you don’t need a dongle to plug into this laptop whatsoever. These two compare paired right out of the box.

So as soon as you put these on, you turn it on. It is good to go with your laptop, not having a dongle sticking out and you get the headset all in one box. That’S a very nice touch and you can tell there’s serious collaboration between the hyper X team and the Oman team. I mean they’ve got it branded right here at the bottom.

They also have hyperx tuned speakers in here. These are definitely solid. Speakers not super crazy. On the base, but you can feel the bump so having hyperx’s presence here, just kind of UPS, the overall experience from an audio perspective, especially with these now. This does have a 71w hour battery which isn’t the largest. I mean where you going to put a much larger battery in here, but what’s nice is that this thing can get charged up to 50 % in just 30 minutes with the included charger. It comes with a 140 W fast charger, so you’ll be able to strap that onto the back juice up very quickly, which is great if you want to take this thing on the go. So after spending some time with this, I’m seeing this as like a device where you want to do a little bit of it all like we said it earlier, whether you want to do some productivity work or you know, you want to be able to be pretty Low-Key, with the fact that you’re gaming, I think this is going to be a really good option so that you know you got the nice form factor you’re able to take this around with you. It’S super lightweight still feels like a premium device, especially considering the Magnesium body OLED display. It is a nice overall package, so you can play work kind of do it all and of course you get like the gaming headset to go along with.

It is definitely worth considering if you are looking for a new laptop that you might potentially want to take to work with you, maybe even school. I like the way this one feels and I’ll of course, have it linked down below, so that you guys can go ahead and learn more. They need to make this a thing. Gaming headsets, with every gaming laptop they’ll, fly off the shelves. .
