Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Don’t Buy Apple Vision Pro – Buy These Instead!”.
Apple Vision, Pro is $ 34.99 and for the same exact amount of money you can buy nine Apple products, hey everyone Travis here and Vision. Pro is less than 2 days away and one of the biggest talking points aside from the fact that we’re entering the future, as we know it is its large price point. The Apple Vision Pro of course starts at $ 34.99. But if you choose a higher storage option and add in some accessories and you throw in tax on top of that, you are way past 5,000 making that a very Hefty price tag, which really has me begging the question: how much can you actually get for that Same amount of money, if you were to start from Ground Zero with no Apple products – and it actually really surprised me – you can buy one of every single Apple product in the product line to create an entire Apple ecosystem for 8, less than a Vision Pro. So with that, let’s go through my entire list of every single product that you could buy for the same exact amount of money as The Vision Pro and really see what you can get for your money. And, of course, we are rapidly approaching the launch day of the Apple Vision Pro and I will be making a ton of content surrounding it so make sure to subscribe.
To me the Bas level Apple products would be an iPhone, an iPad and a Mac first up. Obviously, the most popular Apple product out there is the iPhone and I went for the iPhone 15 regular and I think at this point in 2024, the iPhone 15 regular model is a fantastic phone for most people. It’S rocking that super Reda xdr display the a16 chip from the iPhone 14 pro excellent cameras and build quality. That really just feels like a pro one thing I want to note here is: I went for the base level, storage and configuration on every single product, so here we have an iPhone 15 regular in 128 gig, which is the base model and it’s an unlocked phone. So you could use it on any carrier. You wanted to so iPhone: 15, 829 bucks and next up for the iPad, I went with the iPad. The standard level iPad is the 10th Generation 10.9 in iPad and it’s honestly for the price, a really good device. This iPad came out in 2022 and starts at a base level price of $ 4.49, and I really think that this 2018 iPad Pro Design adapted well to this standard level iPad, because for years we had those iPads that had the iPad Air Design from many. Many many moons ago with the home button and the large bezels, and this looks so much nicer and of course we have things like USBC that make it much more convenient. It does have a 10.9 in liquid Retina display the A14 chip, and it does support all of the accessories that you would come to know and love for the iPad, like the apple pencil and a keyboard folio case, and just to make this more of a little Bit of a complete solution, I threw in an apple pencil, that’s supported by this iPad for 79 bucks because that’s really useful if you’re, just taking notes, marking things up or if you want to do some creative stuff like drawing now for the Mac of choice. I went with the 13-inch MacBook Air and I love this computer. This specifically is the 13-in MacBook Air with the M2 Chip, which is the redesign after the M1 model, and this one goes for $ 10.99, as I’ve mentioned before. In many other videos, the MacBook Airline is fantastic at this point, as they they’ve all had the Apple silicon chips from the M1 to the M2. The M2 definitely adds some conveniences like the mag, safe return and a little bit of a newer design, but the performance of this thing is fantastic and it’s super lightweight to carry around, and I think it’s the Mac that most people should buy. Okay, now that we’re through the basic level, which I would consider iPhone iPad and Mac, let’s get to the companion products, most notably Apple, watch and airpods.
Now, for the Apple watch that I chose, I went right in line with the iPhone the latest lowest level option, which is the Apple Watch series 9 in aluminum. This one starts at $ 3.99. It’S an incredible tool that I utilize daily for calls messages. Notifications, Apple, pay, Fitness tracking and much more. And at this point I think it’s a very mature product in the Apple product line, and I think it’s an essential product. If you have an iPhone, because it’s honestly Bridging the Gap of the iPhone experience to your wrist and makes it very convenient to do the things that you would need to constantly take your phone out much easier now to go along with, that is a set of Airpods, of course, airpods are incredibly popular and they’ve been out for almost 8 years now, which is crazy. Time is flying by, but I think airpods are a very essential Apple product and, of course, work with everything.
So for the airpods of choice, I went for the airpods third generation with the mag safe charging case. These start at 179. Now.
The reason why I went for the third generation, as they are the newest of the standard airpods to go alongside the watch and the iPhone in the same exact concept. But the thing here is that they support Dolby Atmos officially, and I do think that spatial audio mixes can provide a very, very good experience, but it’s all dependent on the mix, some good, some bad. So I think airpods are a definitely no-brainer to throw into this entire mix of an entire Apple ecosystem. Now, if we are in the Pyramid of Apple products, we are on the third layer now, which is all the home devices. Of course, the two that Apple’s got is the Apple TV 4K and the homepod. Now, first up with the homepod, I am a big fan of the full-size homepod, as it delivers excellent quality for its honestly, really small size. Of course, it has much more functionality than just playback of music like being able to use it as an intercom as well as be able to take phone calls on it and use it as a homekit hub. It’S really a good device to go in the home.
Also, I used a homepod forever as my main Soundbar before I got my Sonos now I went for the standard homepod over the mini, because the sound quality is significantly better and this one is $ 2.99 and one thing I’ve been harping on forever is, I really Hope that one day Apple introduces a homepod Max and the ability for homepods to be placed around the room as rear speakers for for a true Dolby Atmos experience, something like the Sonos immersive set last up on this home list is the Apple TV 4K. Now the Apple TV 4K might be kind of low on this list, but it’s a daily use product for me, it’s incredibly fast and the picture quality is excellent and it starts at 1229. Now, personally, I use an LG OLED as my main TV, but I feel like the apps can be cumbersome and slow, and the Apple TV is nothing like that. It’S incredibly fast and fluid, and I do love the fact that if you didn’t want to make a lot of noise, your airpods canare right right up to the Apple TV.
To give you a really great audio experience directly to your Apple TV. Now the cherry on top of this Apple product Sunday is the air tag and that’s 29 bucks. One thing I will say about the air tag is that it’s small and it’s cheap, but its functionality is excellent, whether it’s your bag, your keys, your car, a camera bag. Anything you want to keep track of. This is a set it and forget it type device, and you hope that you don’t have to use it. But if you have to it comes in clutch all right so with everything tallied up that I’ve mentioned so so far, our current total is $ 3,491, which is $ 8 cheaper than the Apple Vision Pro. So at this point the question is: is it worth buying all these other Apple products, or is it worth buying the Vision Pro for that almost same amount of money, and I really think it depends honestly, my personal take on this is that Vision. Pro is a first generation product and it’s really going to be aimed at developers and enthusiasts for its first couple years to get everything off the ground.
Now, of course, this thing ain’t cheap, as we’ve mentioned before, but I think this thing is going to pave the way for, for the future and 5 to 7 years from now, there’s going to be so many more options and we’ll see how the actual device changes Shape and who knows, maybe, when that amount of time passes, The Vision Pro will become everybody’s daily computer and take over the spot for the iPhone and the Mac. But until then, I feel like it’s going to be used in addition to those products, and I think most notably, the things that are holding it back in that regard are the fact that it has a 2our battery life and that, from what I’ve heard from many Reviews is that it’s quite heavy, and I honestly think that the Vision Pro that we see on launch day this Friday is going to be a totally different device than we see a decade from now. And if you look at the history of Apple products as they launched in their first generation State, they changed rapidly in their first four generations. The first iPhone did not have thirdparty apps, the first iPad didn’t have cameras, and the first Apple watch wasn’t even fully waterproof. But now, as years have gone by and there’s been developments in each generation, they’ve matured quite rapidly and I’m sure we’ll see the same exact thing for the vision. Pro drop.
