But before we start today’s video subscribe to our Channel hit the Bell notification icon and like share and comment to this video today I’ll be trying out the XM cozy outdoor smart string lights, it’s got 30 shatterproof rgbw LED lights and they span over 96 ft. You can control the lights with your smartphone and they’re even compatible with smart assistant. The lights are completely waterproof with an ip65 waterproof rating and they can handle any weather conditions. Installation was simple: each light has a mounting hole which can accept a screw or the zip ties that they came with. Since I have wood, siding screws are going to be the best instulation method, but the zip ties can be used when screws.
Cannot. I really like how durable the light bulbs are. I don’t have to be too gentle with them like I would, with glass bulbs, you do have the option to mount each individual light bulb, but on I’m skipping a few and hanging them to save on screws. Here’S a better look at a mounted light bulb, the screw holds it on top and each bulb has a protective case. Make sure you take this off before you turn on the lights. These one watt bulbs are waterproof, shatterproof and extremely energy efficient. They also have a lifespan of over 25,000 hours. Now that the lights are mounted, we can make some minor adjustments and get them all lined up.
I may have underestimated just how long 96 ft of light was. I had more than enough for my workshop and I had enough to do my house as well. They look absolutely stunning on my workshop and I haven’t even plugged them in yet. Let’S get these lights powered on hooked up to the app and see how they work.
They plug into any standard 120 volt Outlet. This adapter converts the power to 12 VTS, which is a much SA safer option for these lights. They turn on instantly and man are these lights bright, both the buttons and the adapter are also waterproof. There’S 15 preset lighting modes, which can be cycled through using the mobile app there’s.
Also a few modes for dynamic lighting. You can slowly change light, color or cause them to flash. You can even adjust the speed at which the lights, flash or change color. With these lights, you have complete and total freedom to customize them.
However, you want – and it can all be done right through this adapter, pretty cool. If you want even more control over the customization of these lights, you can download the mobile app, which is available for both IOS and Android. Using the mobile app will give you access to over 16 million color options and you can control the lights from anywhere. Connecting the lights to the app is easy, but you do need to have a Wi-Fi connection.
Once you have Wi-Fi established on your device open the app and agree to any permissions, you may have to create an account, and all you need is an email address. A verification code will be sent to your email once you get the code and enter it into the app your account will be set up. All that’s left is to create a secure password and your account will be set up once you’re in the app simply add a new device and put the lights in pairing mode. Remember that these lights will need to be within range of your Wi-Fi router and you must be using 2.4 GHz.
Wi-Fi 5G Wi-Fi is not supported at this time. Inputting. Your Wi-Fi information establishes a security, your connection between the lights and your router. This allows you to control your lights from anywhere around the world as long as they’re connected to a Wi-Fi network to put the lights in pairing mode, simply hold the power button on the adapter for 5 seconds, the lights will flash red. That’S how you know it’s in Parry mode, the lights will only connect if you do this step properly, if you don’t put them in Parry mode, the lights will not show up in this step after only 30 seconds, the lights pair successfully, and we now have full Customization over every single light bulb on this string in the app you can even set up a timer and schedule exactly when you want these lights. To turn off and on this level of customization makes these lights a great option for any holiday decor, and you can leave these lights up year round. One of my favorite features about these lights is the compatibility with smart assistants.
