There are a ton of cases to choose from and we’re going to talk about the 4000d, the 5000d and the 7000d, and the reason we’re going to talk about these cases is. I have direct personal experience with these cases. I’Ve told this story before the live streaming. Pc we’re currently streaming on is a build that I just did this summer. When we restarted our live streams, it originally was being built in a cheaper case. Oh, I spent 2 hours trying to get it all in there.
The power supply cables – it was a cheap $ 50 case and it was a big fat pain in the kizzle, and you don’t want a big fat pain in your kizzle because that’s not a fun place to have a big fat pain after 2. Hours of fighting with cable min M fighting with getting the power supply in with the cables wrapped around the there was a hard drive cage that was welded in it couldn’t be moved and there was very little space behind the back panel to run the everything I Finally, went okay. This is ridiculous. This machine that we’re streaming on what you can’t see literally sits there and live streams. I use it for basically nothing else. It’S a 12700 K on a z690 motherboard that just sits there after getting annoyed and having to be reminded again. Why? I don’t like cheap cases I went upstairs and because YouTubers have stealth computer stores. I grabbed a Corsair 5000d White Edition, not that it matters, but it’s a white case and I said screw it I brought it downstairs.
I pulled the motherboard out of the current case. I put it into the 5000d. I took the power supply and stuck it in four screws, screwed it in unscrewed the things on the bottom and slid the power the drive cage over because it’s adjustable had the whole thing done. In 20 minutes I called Rogue, and I said I got a story for you and she’s like what I said.
I hate cheap cases. She goes yeah, you that’s not new, I said yeah, but I really hate cheap cases and she’s like what happened. I said I’ve just spent the past two plus hour screwing with this cheap piece of junk, and she goes. You changed cases didn’t you I said yeah she goes.
Did you grab one of the Corsair? I said I did. She goes. How easy was that I said it took 20 minutes and I was done. That was the freaking easiest thing in the world.
I cannot begin to tell you how much I hate cheap cases. If you’re doing a budget build and money is tight, the 4000d is fine. It’S 80 bucks. It’S a reasonable price.
It’S it’s nicely built with decent equipment. It’S got glass side. It’S got plenty of airo in the front.
It’S got plenty of mounting options. It’S nice! If you have the money, however, I can tell you the 5000d. The 5000d has just that much extra room here and there, and it makes it easier a little bit more room above the motherboard a little bit more room in the back.
It just got stretched just enough to make it easier. It is $ 145. I know I know it’s almost, not quite twice the price.
I know an argument could be made that if you do like RGB spend $ 25 more because the 5000d RGB airflow gives you three argb fans in the front for way less than they cost. Those are Corsair magnetic levitation fans, it’ll cost you well over 50 bucks to buy those fans, and it makes the case more interesting. If, however, you’re going big, my video editing PC is built in this case it is huge, massive, heavy and ridiculous. It’S $ 210 4 120 mm liquid cooler on the roof 13900 K. Does a 13900 K need a 420 mm AIO? No, but you know what a 420 gets you silence. Fans are turned way down.
That thing is quiet, heat blows out nicely makes no noise. I did spring for the coair h, 170i capix, Pro 420 mm liquid cooler, which is actually more expensive than the case want to know. Why fits like a glove? I know we’re in the rarified era of expensive stuff here, but I am telling you from personal experience, see up here in the top. It fits like a glove now.
Do you see how they have the hose right here? This is reversible. This fits on this side to the CPU, no problem no stretching – and I have mine mounted in Reverse, with the hoses coming out on this side. Now, that’s a personal preference you don’t have to. I don’t have these fans here.
I have intake fans, exhaust fans and top fans, I didn’t put fans on the side, but the hose comes across nicely and it doesn’t interfere with the ra. It doesn’t hit the RAM and it doesn’t hit the video card. You can mount it either way the roof of the case comes off. You can mount the fans and the radiator to the roof outside of the case and drop it into the case as a single module.
No fuss there is sufficient room above the motherboard that you could do push pull by three more magnetic levitation. 140 fans Mount them on the other side of the radiator, and you could, if you want, you don’t need to, you, could have six fans in push pull configuration and it will not cover the motherboard fits like a glove it. It clearly was engineered to go in. There doesn’t hit anything slides in slides out without any issue whatsoever.
This case has there needs to be a picture of this. This isn’t a great picture, but if, if you don’t put a fan on the bottom here, there are six 3 and 1/2 in Drive Bays down here. There are three 2 and 1/2 in Bays. Here you can put a large cooler here. This drive bay can be moved if you want and you can actually buy additional Drive Bays. If you want to go insane. There is all the room for cable management in the world. It’S expensive, it isn’t for everybody, it’s huge.
It’S heavy. You will need help to move this. This back metal panel weighs as much as many glass side panels do. This is legit heavy. The full side panel is legit heavy.
This thing is heavy, but it will never move. It runs silent. It has all the room in the world for everything and it was stupid, easy to build in it’s one of the nicest builds I’ve done in a very long time.
It just costs between the case and the liquid cooler 500 bucks. If you’re curious about the size difference between the 4,000, 5,000 and 7,000 there’s the comparison, the 5,000 is probably the sweet spot for most people, the one in the middle. This is big and heavy, probably unnecessary for most people looking for a Windows 10 or 11 product key, but you don’t want to spend $ 100 to $ 200 for it.

Again, I fully acknowledge there are a dozen case manufacturers worth looking at. I know many of you are fans of lean Lee, there’s uh fractal design. There’S thermal take great if you’ve got a personal preference, I’m not here to take that away from you. I have not used a lean Lee case. I’M not going to sit here and promote something to you that I have not personally built in, but I can talk to you about the fact that I’ve used these multiple times. My 7950 X personal gaming, PC downstairs is built in a 5000d.
I used one for this. I have another 7000d for another, build that I’m going to be doing for rogue soon. They’Re they’re huge huge, but you will never ever have a space problem. You will never have an access problem. Air flow is spectacular. Upgrading expansion is spectacular and you are done for a very long time, but of course, if you’re on the budget, end of things and you’re doing something like a i7 12700 k for $ 200 on $ 150 motherboard, there’s nothing wrong with this for $ 79.
Absolutely fine drop a $ 40 Tower cooler onto that put an 850 W power supply on that very reasonable, build premium materials. It’S not that much more expensive than a $ 50 case, but it’s much better built the metal is thicker. The glass is nicer, the fit is better course sh should sponsor us. They don’t.
