This is Ford's NEW integrated Android Auto experience!

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “This is Ford’s NEW integrated Android Auto experience!”.
You probably just got used to having an iPad like display in your car for navigation, entertainment and whatever else you need, but Ford is already ready to kick it up and not the long-standing American automaker just introduced a brand new digital Driving Experience for both its Ford And Lincoln Brands and I’ll be honest, it feels closer to the bridge of the USS Enterprise than it does to the dashboard of a family car. Let’S get into what’s new. For starters, the new Ford digital experience is kind of like a 3. In one platform, the primary Ford experience is android-based, but Ford brought a lot of the development inhouse to kind of fine-tune the experience. That means it’ll run better on the central console, but also on the sweeping panoramic display that we’ll get to in a minute.

Ford’S Android Base also means that you can download and update individual apps through the Play Store right from the console of your car. If you prefer to control your car through your phone Ford’s new digital experience supports both Android, auto and apple carplay, which means you have a lot of freedom with your operating system. Not only that, but it also supports three different voice assistants, whether you want Google Assistant, which is the default, Apple’s, Siri or Alexa, and one of the main reasons for Ford’s voice control. Flexibility is the fact that they want to make the entire experience voice. First. It’S easiest to deliver, commands with your voice and activate your assistant with a press of the button on the steering wheel, but no matter which operating system you prefer Ford’s new panoramic display is the unquestioned star of the show it pairs a 4K horizontal resolution with 1,000 Nits of brightness for easy viewing in any conditions. On top of that, it breaks down your information into three simple zone for its Essentials, the supporting information and the things you need at a glance. The essentials are just what they sound like your remaining range, your speed, the temperature inside the car and the other Basics.

Once you shift over to the supporting information, that’s mostly just going to be your navigation panel. Ford dedicates a big section in the middle of its display to navigation, whether it’s Apple Maps or Google Maps. Once again, Google Maps is the default, but if you open Apple Maps through carplay and start nav, navigating your car will automatically adjust to bring the map front and center. So you have the most accurate directions all the time.

Once you get past the supporting information, we’re talking about everything, you might need at a glance – and this is where Ford has put a lot of customization into its new digital Driving Experience. The glanceable section is where you have customizable widgets, so you’ll be able to manage things like your entertainment and also get a weather forecast for what’s coming up. As mentioned Ford’s new digital experience relies heavily on the Google Play Store. With that in mind, there are some Partnerships that Ford has in place like asphalt, Nitro and certain video conferencing apps.

If you’re waiting in line to pick up your kid from school, but you need to hop onto a quick work, call you’ll be able to do that in the near future. Ford is actively working with different developers to fine-tune their apps for the connected Driving Experience. So you’ll be able to open them on your console and see them in the panoramic display. We also had a chance to check out certain demos using apps like Netflix and PBS kids, but again any app that requires this level of interaction is only going to be available when you have the car set to par during our demo with Ford’s new digital Drive Driving Experience everything seemed to run really smoothly.

It was easy to navigate and add widgets or remove widgets from the panoramic display, and the list of supported apps is only going to keep growing in the meantime, you’ll see Ford’s new experience come first to the allnew, Lincoln Nautilus in 2024, followed by other Ford and Lincoln models down the line, we’re waiting for a little bit more information on exactly when it’ll be available, but you can learn more down below .
