I have decided on the Monitors for my Setup Makeover! ASUS CES 2024

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “I have decided on the Monitors for my Setup Makeover! ASUS CES 2024”.
Asus had one of the most talked about product launches at CS this year. The Asus BTF design was one of the things I was most excited about as a PC Builder BDF, which stands for Back to the Future, essentially represents a new direction that will lead the future of DIY and one of the ways they were achieving. This is by hiding all the connectors from the motherboard which results in a more minimalistic appearance. As you can see, the build in this Hyperion case has no physical cables visible from the front. No 24 pin no cable from the GPU and no EPS connectors near the top hell.

You won’t even see any RGB or fan cables. Either it’s completely wireless, they shifted everything towards the back. Every single connector from the front has now been relocated. Now there are two different types of BTF builds: we got regular BTF and then we got Advanced BTF.

Regular BTF hides all the connectors, except for the graphic card. That will be the only component where you have to still plug in the cable from the front. If you buy an advanced BTF product that will include the graphics card high power slot right on the motherboard, if you look at the STS card, you’ll see an extra PCI high power connector, which delivers up to 600 WS through the motherboard. So if you buy an advanced BTF, GPU and motherboard you’re able to plug this directly into that slot to achieve a clean and wireless look, Asus did this to give you guys more options right.

They don’t want to limit you to doing an old BTF build. So let’s say you like the clean look of a BTF motherboard, but you still want to use your own regular, traditional graphics card. You have that option. It essentially comes down to your choice on how far you want to dive into the BTF ecosystem.

With that said, you are currently limited to BTF only products. The case, along with the motherboard, are two components that have to be compatible if you’re going with a BTF build. Asus only has a few select components currently a part of this ecosystem, and they have created a nice little BTF alliance with other manufacturers to offer more choice and better compatibility, and I’m hoping to see this list expanded later this year. I think it’s going to be a very exciting thing for all of us, PC Builders.

We now have the option of what route to take. This is clearly not designed to take over or replace the traditional way of building PCS with the cables I feel like. This is more of an extension or an optional route you guys can take if you prefer that aesthetic someone who prefers a minimalistic wireless look would be more into the BTF ecosystem and someone who loves the look of cables or strimmers would stick with a traditional build. So we now have options.

The new old monitors from Asus are looking very tasty, I’m actually in the middle of planning, my setup makeover and I’m looking to upgrade a few of my displays and well Asus has a very nice selection to choose from to start off. We got their Flagship monster: the r Swift, OLED pg3250 HZ OLED panel and a 003 millisecond response time. Remember those specs by the way, because you’re going to hear that a lot in these OLED monitors. It’S also got hdr10 with insane 1300 nits of peak brightness. But what makes this monitor Stand Out is the Dual mode feature you no longer have to make the decision on whether you want to buy a high resolution monitor or a high refresh rate monitor, because now you can have both with dual mode. You can switch from 4K resolution at 240 HZ to a 1080p 480 HZ monitor with a quick trip into the OSD menu. Personally, I would love to see this on a 27in Model because I feel, like that’s still going to be the most popular size for most people there’s also another version of the same monitor, but without the Dual mode feature, and it’s got somewhat different. Specs, like lower Peak brightness, a slightly different OLED panel, but with a glossy surface, and it’s also the first R monitor to support Dolby Vision. So if entertainment is what you’re, mostly after the DM model, is a better pick over the DP. However, I do have to say I have my eye on the pg27 AQ DP as my primary display. This is the sweet spot. For me, it’s got a 1440p resolution and a high 480 HZ refresh rate, which is perfect for Competitive Gaming. I think this is going to be the most popular display from Asus, because no competitive gamer plays in 4K resolution right. They play in the lowest possible resolution to gain the most FPS, but you know what some people just can’t play on 1080p.

Like me, for example, it’s not enjoyable, the graphics look like Roblox. So what do we do? We go back up to 1440p. On top of that, it’s also great for Content creation. You get 1,300 of peak brightness, 99 % of DCI P3 coverage and a glossy surface with anti-reflective coating.

The only sad news is that they’re planning on releasing this in the second half of 2024. So I I don’t know how that’s going to work with my setup. Makeover, maybe this will be the last thing I upgrade, but that is not the only monitor I have my eyes on. I also have my eyes on the new 39in curved OLED Ultra wide to replace my top monitor. This has a 3440 X 1440p resolution with a nasty 240 HZ refresh rate and na .03 millisecond response time. But what I love about this ultrawide is that, even though it still has a 21 by9 aspect ratio, the extra 5 in provides 32 % more screen space.

This covers more of your field of view for better immersion. I always say I love my ultra eyes the way I love my women curvy – and this is one curvy – monitor 800r curvature, which wraps around your face, providing a perfect field of view for your peripheral vision. As you can see, the monitor is mounted to a desk. This is the Rog Ergo monitor mount that supports up to 39in displays and provides full range of motion. Asus is rolling these out alongside other new gaming accessories, like their monitor light bar most monitor, light bars. End up washing out your monitor’s colors and contrast so Asus has built something better.

The Rog Aura light bar. So this has three different modes: each with specific use case scenarios, the front of light bar uses patented asymmetric light to brighten the desk, where, without reflecting off the screen and creating a necessary glare, the backlight, on the other hand, casts a subtle, RGB glow to boost The ambience of your gaming setup and the third mode combined both lights together, you can either control the settings right on the bar itself, using the included scroll wheel or you can use a display widget Center, which will also give you control over your monitor settings as Well, instead of having to use the menu buttons on the actual monitor, we also got a new mic. The Rog CarX is a USB condenser microphone with a built-in pop filter and shock mount the knob in the front controls the volume of the mic and the monitoring headset, and I was told you can control both the RGB lighting and the sound profiles. All on the Armory app the Rog cetra true Wireless speed, novas are also something new Asus has introduced at CES. These are wireless gaming, headphones using speed, Nova 2.4 GHz Wireless technology, which is set to have extremely low latency, but apart from that, users will enjoy high resolution. 24-Bit crisp sound with adaptive active noise cancellation that can be set in auto mode.

This will basically optimize and adjust active noise cancellation levels based on the inear fit the shape of the wear’s ear canal and ambient noise. It will do all this to ensure full audio immersion, which sounds pretty damn cool on paper and, of course, I have to check out their new peripherals. I heard a lot of great things about the r Falon RX low profile keyboard.

Now, normally, I’m not a low profile keyboard type of person at all, but man this board is making me want to grab one for the studio. It feels so nice to type on they’re using the same Rog RX switches from their other board, but they shrunk it down to 26.5 mm. It’S preed.

It has faster travel and the board has silicone dampening layers with UV coding, ABS, key caps. If you’ve always been on the fence of switching over to low profile keyboards, then this might be the one to convince you. I love the touch panel on the edge of the board. This can be programmed to your media controls so swiping.

It would adjust the volume and you can set the button to play or pause music. You can customize all that and the RGB lighting through the r software, but the most exciting thing about the keyboard is the try mode connectivity. You can have this simultaneously connect up to five devices, but on its own, the Rog Omni receiver can actually handle signals from both the keyboard and a compatible Mouse. Like the carries 2 a so you only need one USB port from your PC, the carries 2. A also made some headlines at CES: it’s an ultra light gaming mouse made for competitive Gamers and ESP Sports athletes. In fact, it was designed with input and feedback from Esports professionals. It weighs only 54 G and these two can connect up to three devices. At the same time, it’s armed with 42,000 DPI, an Rog aimo Pro optical sensor, and it’s so sensitive it can track on glass.

And finally, I do want to talk about this new water block that I saw. This is a very interesting product and it might possibly be asus’s first step into custom water cooling. So this is the R ryogen 3 water block and it has the same exact 3.5 in display as the aiio counterart, but there’s a CPU water block under it. I haven’t seen anyone at a screen on a water block before this could possibly be the start of something cool in the custom water, cooling Community. I think Asus is definitely on to something here, but we’re going to have to wait and see how this plays out for the rest of the year, but I’m really curious what got you guys most excited about from today’s video? Let me know in the comment section down below for me it was definitely the monitors and the keyboard if you guys saw anything you liked I’ll all the links posted down below as well. Thank you.

So much for watching and I’ll see you very soon in the next one. .
