Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Huge Black Friday Giveaway from Nothing”.
So you guys probably remember the nothing ear 2 in white, which we featured in the past. Nothing, of course, the brand that gave us the nothing phone with the transparent back, the team up with teenage engineering and, of course, we’re on phone 2 right now. Some people may not know that they came out with a black version of ear 2 and that’s in this package here I actually haven’t. Looked at it yet probably also noticed that I’ve got a few components here, because they actually gave me an expanded view. A little bit of a breakdown of what makes the earbud and believe it or not, they even sent tinier components like so I could check out even tinier aspects of the speaker unit, so I got a chance to inspect the components that make up the ear 2 And, of course, in this case, in the Black Version, so I’m going to try to piece these together connect some of those ribbon cables. This piece here I recall in the past some stickers.
Little tape reminds me of the old days where I was actually doing some repairs to iPods and eventually iPhones sort of see how that clicks in right there. It’S somewhat satisfying making those connections very minuscule connection points, obviously a simpler one on the front, the ear tip user replaceable we’ve got our nothing Red Dot. This is actually not using a clip, so there would be some adhesive in there just kind of completing the construction, but there’s obviously way more that goes into this.
I’M not showcasing here. Custom made 11.6 mm Dynamic driver. There was a total of 27 combinations of materials that were used in the development of this driver. Now nothing has also gone in there and redesigned the antenna and moved it above the press control sensor. So it’s further away from your face, so your face is blocking the signal. Less often and they’ve got something called clear voice technology in here, which is including a third microphone in the the outer shell and believe it or not. This unit is actually smaller and lighter than the ear1. Now the reason that we’re talking about the ear 2 today is because, with Black Friday approaching Cyber Monday uh, nothing is having a handful of deals not just on the earbuds, but also on their devices on the phones. I think you can save like 150 bucks on the phone and you can also save 40 bucks on the ear 2 and then, on top of that, there’s going to be a giveaway of 20 units of ear 2 I’ll, be talking a little bit more about towards The end of this video, a unique unboxing experience with this red pull tab very satisfying, so, whichever one you prefer, you can see: nothing’s, dot, matrix style, font, braided, USB, ctoc, cable and short as well, which I’m sure they considered the new one. Has the type-c cable inside of a box which is sealed inside the larger box, whereas the original the entire box is removable interesting little change to the packaging.
Far as ear tips go three sizes to choose from okay. So now we have the white and the black. Now this black one Still Remains somewhat transparent. It’S like a smoked color you can see what’s inside, but not with as much detail as on the White model, a little bit more stealth.
Obviously the earbud. It’S the same story, the main portion in this typical black color and then otherwise. It’S like this board and variety of other details and there’s your comparison. It looks like the main change here is just the butt itself.
The magnets just grab the earbud bang. The case is kind of meant to be fidgeted with, like you’ve got this little nub here, so you can kind of spin it around in your hand, comfortable to hold so pairing the earbuds extremely straightforward on any device, but even more so on the nothing phone two Here so here you can see the controls for ear 2 single pinch on the side of the stem will play pause, answer and hang up phone calls, so that pinch is like right around there, like that double pinch will skip forward or decline in incoming call Triple Pinch will skip backwards. Pinch and hold will adjust the amount of uh noise control that you’ve got on there. That’S it it’s a very lightweight gear: Bud. We’Ve got noise cancellation as an option. There’S also a transparency mode which is going to send external audio through transparency.
Goes this is nice too, within noise cancellation, you have a variety of settings, so it’s in the high mode right now, but you can do mid low or adaptive, which is obviously going to try to guess which what is best based on the scenario I’ll leave noise? Cancelling on high right now, there’s also an equalizer. You can set up personal, sound profiles, you can add more base or you can just go all the way to custom for high quality, audio codec low lag mode, which is obviously going to be useful for gaming. Inear detection yeah like these are going to be.
This is uh dialed in for popular music. I put the bass boost on just to goof around, but there’s like tons of bass in the standard preset. Already I mean having The Equalizer there, you can kind of tweak it to your personal preference.
It’S a cool earbud, it’s a different style, that’s kind of what nothing’s going for right. That’S their game is like we’re going to have something that looks a little bit different than the other stuff that’s available for, for you, we’re going to have an attention to design and detail and we’re going to have this transparent ID which follows through from the device To the buds there’s some sort of cohesiveness there, even all the way, into the way that the device looks you can see, the icon and the style with the do Matrix, fonts and so on. All right.
