Google listened: THIS is the smartwatch we REALLY wanted!

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Google listened: THIS is the smartwatch we REALLY wanted!”.
This is the pixel watch 2.. Sorry, this is the pixel watch 2.. They look almost identical on the surface, but let’s get into the differences. You’D be totally forgiven for confusing the designs, because from the front they look almost identical. In fact, they do look identical. Google kept the same display size, the same button set up with the rotating crown and the button on the side and even the same band size. So all of your current accessories will still work with the pixel watch, too. Google put the pixel Watch 2 on a bit of a diet this year, swapping from stainless steel to aluminum, which results in a savings of about five grams, and no that’s not something you would notice on a phone, but you you could definitely notice it on your Wrist as you’re lifting it up, however many times a day, and this year the pixel Watch 2 also picks up an ip68 rating. The original pixel watch was 5 ATM waterproof, so you could go swimming with it, but thanks to the IP rating, this one now has dust resistance, so you can still keep it on for a day at the beach. If there’s one thing we’re still kind of disappointed about with the pixel Watch 2, it’s that Google hasn’t adopted multiple case sizes.

You either have to make this one fit your wrist or you got to look elsewhere for your wearable. So while the pixel Watch 2 looks the same on the surface, most of the important changes are actually under the hood. When the original pixel watch launched, it was using a chipset that was already four years old, suggesting that you know maybe this was meant to launch a little while back now with the pixel Watch 2, you have the Snapdragon Ware 5100 inside, which is right now, the Best wear OS Focus chips that you can get it’s based on a five nanometer process, which means it should be just that last bit more power efficient than the previous processor, which has plenty of extra benefits.

One of the main benefits you’ll notice from the new wear. 5100 chipset is the battery life should be that last little bit better. We all remember that the original pixel watch came with an underwhelming promise of all-day battery life, now Google’s still offering all-day battery life, but you can get there with the always-on display enabled, rather than having to disable it, to save your power. In addition to the wear 5100 chipset, the pixel Watch 2 gets slightly better battery results, thanks to a slightly larger cell and marginally improved wireless charging. So, instead of slapping it on a wireless charger and leaving it to sit like you would with the original pixel watch, you now have to line it up with a couple magnetic pins that keep a steadier connection and get your battery back to full. A little bit quicker so again, while the front of the pixel Watch 2 looks exactly the same as the original pixel watch.

The heart rate sensor is much improved. It uses a multi-path design with a couple extra LEDs and photo diodes thrown in there for more accurate results, and that’s whether you’re, awake and tracking, an activity or asleep and trying to keep up with your rem or deep sleep. On top of the new heart rate sensor, the pixel Watch 2 also uses Ceda tracking, which is continuous, electrodermal activity to measure your stress and give you reminders. Throughout the day now, we’ve seen this on other watches, like many of garmin’s, Fitness Focus watches, and it’s an easy way to remind you that if your stress seems high, you can just slow down for a minute and take some breathing exercises and kind of bring yourself Back into the moment, one of the most important software-based features on the pixel Watch 2 is that you can now take advantage of safety check. We’Ve seen safety check before on Pixel flagships like the pixel 7 Series and now the pixel 8 series. It essentially lets you set a timer for when you expect to be home, and if that timer goes off, and you still haven’t checked in your pixel watch – will automatically reach out to a select group of contacts to. Let them know that they should check in on. You and if you have Fitbit premium, your watch doesn’t even need to be connected to a Cellular Tower, meaning that you could get away with the Wi-Fi. Only version of the pixel watch too and the all-important point on the pixel Watch 2 is that it’s available in the same nine countries as the original pixel watch, as well as a selection of new countries that Google hasn’t fully announced.
