What We REALLY Think About The Google Pixel Fold

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “What We REALLY Think About The Google Pixel Fold”.
So I just spent the better part of two hours with the new Google pixel fold and, let’s just say it’s a lot better than most of us thought. Let me explain being able to impress anyone after the novelty has worn off is not an easy feat for any company to be four generations late to a market and say Here I Am, is automatic code for take the back seat at this point, Samsung’s Galaxy’s, evolt, 4 has already won the form factor. Wars and Chinese manufacturers have already figured out how to make foldables smaller and even thinner. The only way for Google to enter this market so late and make anyone care is if they either price their fold more aggressively to pay. For your curse of the early adopter or be able to spare you of this problem and actually deliver some real improvements. Well, this is the pixel fold, Google’s first foldable ever and probably the best smartphone the company has ever made by far listen. I walked into this briefing thinking that I was just gon na, do a quick short and call it a day, but after using it for a few hours, there was seriously no way. I was not gon na make a video and tell you why you should care. Now and let’s Dive In foreign foldables in a nutshell, are a very complicated topic, because well Android tablets never really took off apps, never embrace the platform as well as they did on the iPad.

To then try to sell you a far more expensive tablet that folds into a sort of a phone doesn’t make the idea any easier. The only solution is for it to be just as much of a good phone as it is a better tablet and that’s what I feel Google Nails here to start. The pixel fold looks and feels far better in real life than in pictures or videos. We thought it would look like the fine then to fold, but nope.

This phone is impossibly thin, so thin that a 12.1 millimeters, it’s just three hairs thicker than the Galaxy s23 Ultra when closed, which means that when open, it sheds even more of the thickness, we already have with the z-fold 4.. Its shorter aspect ratio also means this outer 5.8 inch AMOLED it 17.4 by 9 aspect ratio feels more like a regular phone than the taller Solutions we get from Samsung and then the screen is vibrant plenty bright at up to 1550 nits at Peak and offers 120 Hertz refresh right, so it doesn’t skimp out on what competitors offer also notice, just how impossibly thin the stainless steel hinge is and how there’s absolutely zero Gap when folded compared to the z-fold 4.. Obviously this is a prototype, but there are no cracks or sounds when opening it, and even if there is a minor crease, it’s definitely better than what we get on the Galaxy. Also, the rest of the pixel folds materials are gorilla, glass, fictus and aluminum. So it’s not the lightest but manageable. Now, as for the internal panel, this is a 7.6 inch AMOLED with a 6×5 aspect: ratio, 120 hertz, refresh rate and tons of Vibrance at 1450 nits of peak brightness yeah.

Yes, I do see the larger bezels, but honestly they don’t really bother me since it’s part of the regular tablet. Accoutrement and Google was smart enough to fit the selfie camera within, sparing you the need of a trashy module under the pixels like what we have in today’s current state of Technology. The bezel also served as a smart way to distribute some of the internals to keep the phone thin, which is genius. Some of those include Google’s tensor, G2 12 gigs of RAM up to 512, gigs of storage, ipx8 water resistance and somehow even wireless charging. For the 4821 milliamp hour battery that I do not know how they fit here and I’m sure you also get the latest forms of connectivity now, at the time of my briefing, this is still Android 13 and I didn’t have much time to play with it. Given it’s not a final product, what I will tell you is that all the multitasking features – Google, I O showcased, already have me excited for this form factor to take off. We needed the maker of Android to care and my hour, or so with it proved. A lot of thought was given to the UI, though I can’t report on more for now, but expect this to be a pixel in everything up to even the AI perks. Another reason to be excited is the cameras, even if the specifications aren’t necessarily the same as the pixel 7 Pros.

That said, Google is offering pretty much the exact same focal capabilities from the primary cameras, a pretty good set of selfie ones on both screens, and we also know pixels can make Miracles with any sensor. So this might just be the first foldable with great photography. Even up to the periscopic zoom option – and I think that’s the best way for me to conclude my hands-on experience – I walked in thinking this was another first generation attempt by Google that had no chance to survive and I walked out liking. What I saw probably too much a lot of this phone just feels right, though yeah there wasn’t much of a cheer when the price tag was announced, 1799 doesn’t make it an easy sell, and especially when the z-fold 4 gives you S, Pen support, which I personally Care about more would I buy it well. First, impressions are hard, but this is probably the best first generation product that I’ve ever played with the rumors of this being ready since 2020 seem more credible now than ever before.

I’D say I would mainly because of how it Nails the phone and tablet balance better than other offerings we get in the US. Obviously, you’ll have to wait for our full review coming later this year.
