Next Level! Sonos Era 300

Next Level! Sonos Era 300

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Next Level! Sonos Era 300”.
Thank you to Sonos for sponsoring this video in, like the broad category of tech, there are some brands or products you hear about all the time. Then maybe you haven’t tried for yourself when it comes to audio Sonos is a company that the guys here talk about non-stop how many speakers they got, which one they got. How many are they going to get to add to their surround sound experience? It is pretty much non-stop Sonos when it comes to audio, so I wanted to sort of give Sonos a shot, see what it sounded like see. If maybe I was missing out on some sort of killer audio experience, we’ve got the latest from them here. It’S the era 300, it’s actually behind me and it’s combining sort of what Sonos is known for credible audio Fidelity, an easy to use experience with some pretty awesome Tech, as somebody who can appreciate good audio, doesn’t necessarily get caught in the Weeds about that audio. I got a lot to say about the year 300.

So I can contact you if you win, let’s give away run for 10 days, but the information will be in the description down below one of the best things about Sonos. Why? I think they’re so popular is generally the ease of setup and again. This is something that your mom or dad could do, or even the people who are so into technology, no matter what anybody can do this and it’s very accessible for this level of Technology strip. Every step of the way Sonos is making this process really simple and easy, and that starts with the very first thing you got.

Ta do and that’s just like setting up the speaker, I think Sonos to build a reputation on being premium. They’Re not sort of inexpensive and that sort of filters down through to the unboxing as well. This box has like levers built into to it once you sort of open this thing up. All you need is the Sonos app and you can then add a new speaker and it’s going to automatically detect the ER 300.

from there to connect the speaker to your Wi-Fi network and it’s essentially set up from there. There are things that Sonos does, that are very Sonos. You set this thing up and it sounds like like a Star Wars, laser gun going off here, a very pew pew, sound. It’S called true play foreign, the speaker for the room that it’s in it sounds silly, but it does make the audio that comes out of it.

Sound incredible, you’ve got all that set up and everything is going to run through the app now. This has AirPlay built in, so you can AirPlay music from anything, but you’re probably going to want to do it through the Sonos app, which is somebody who is new to Sonos. Did it make a lot of sense to me at first so using things like apple music through the Sonos app, you can take advantage of Dolby Atmos. If there’s airplaying directly from Apple music, you don’t have Atmos, but if you do it from Apple music via the Sonos app you do and beyond that.

You also have support for spatial audio as well. Sort of a lot of speakers are set up where there’s a bunch of speakers in the front they shoot out at you. This is set up for speakers kind of all the way around it. In fact, there’s only one speaker, that’s on the front of this device.

I could very clearly hear a difference um, so we played music straight from AirPlay and apple music. You hear what it sounded like. Then we did it the Sonos app where he got support from Dolby Atmos and it just sounded better if it sounded richer.

I know I’m sure, I’m telling you something you don’t already know but more to know the support for it is here. You have to know how to use it, and I think the the value for a lot of people is where this is going to add into your probably already existing uh Sonos ecosystem, which I promise I will talk about. But all the setup and sort of Dolby Atmos stuff is awesome, but it’s not like that unique uh to Sono.

So here’s what makes the era 300 sort of new and relatively special foreign speakers like I said, support spatial audio and Dolby Atmos from this one speaker. You don’t know, spatial audio is latest generation of audio technology, tries to make a listening experience as immersive as possible. It’S hard thing to show audio, but I’m gon na try.

I get two glasses. I got a full glass and I have a half empty glass they’re. Both gon na quench your thirst, one, is Fuller, going to quench your thirst a little bit more and it’s a full glass. That’S what you’re getting here getting a full audio experience gon na quench your audio thirst, a bit better! You can hear the separation listen to one speaker and I’ll assumes like it’s on a flat line. Uh here it sounds like there is separation there, and you know it’s one speaker, you can see it in front of you, but if you close your eyes, you can almost imagine that there’s multiple speakers around your multiple instruments playing it’s just a very cool experience.

The sound is one thing, but it’s gon na be in your house. It’S Got ta sort of look decent and it’s not a tiny uh speaker here. So when I first saw a 300, I wasn’t entirely sure what I thought about design. It’S weirdly unique and looks different than sort of any other speaker out there.

After a few days, I did tend to grow on me first available in black or white, but I like the design because it seems more function rather than for something that’s meant to be a speaker. I want the best version of that thing. Up top. There are a few capacitive controls for play: pause touch, sensitive volume slider. We should probably get used to using uh. You can very quickly lower and raise the volume plus there’s a mic on off switch too, because this does have a voice control built in right.

Now. It works with Sonos voice control, which is their in-house system, but it also works with Amazon. Alexa, that’s your jam, so it is a replacement for other smart speaker.

You may already have home, and this also has another feature. A lot of users were asking for that’s Bluetooth. Sonos has been known for being a Wi-Fi.

Only speaker with this generation, though, decided to change their ways. Clearly, the speaker is still meant to be mainly used with Wi-Fi, especially since spatial audio features won’t work over Bluetooth, but now you at least have that option makes it more versatile. I think too, giving the speaker more accessibility and functionality all around, which is obviously a good thing. There also is now a line in Support over USBC. You do need a dongle, though I wish that came in the box, so Got ta Buy that separately. So if you wanted to plug in external Source like a turntable or something you can use a 300 as the speaker and even send the audio to other speakers in your Sonos Network, it’s pretty cool to have if it wasn’t enough. Airplay 2 is obviously also built in. So if you want to send audio from your iPhone, can you do that with all those features built in great audio experience? I think this is probably the go-to Sonos speaker right now. It’S got kind of everything that you could want. Well, I think, what’s unique about it is sort of it’s just one piece, the whole Sonos ecosystem and it’s really easy to upgrade your experience as you go by adding more speakers to other rooms, making the whole music listening setup just get better as you wanted to Everyone, I know what Sonos speakers has started with one and then kind of upgraded from there ecosystem is so seamless and easy.

It can very simply be the only home audio solution, so also, if you want, you could pair these with a Sonos Arc or beam Soundbar for your TV, you can pair two three hundreds together and use them as rear surrounds or home theater setup. It’S probably the easiest way to get great surround sound very easily, in fact, for the guys that work here in the studio have a Sonos round system for their TV Ralph who’s sitting right over there. I just picked up a pair of 300 to use as his rear speakers point. Is you just use one speaker to get a great experience? You can add more make a whole ecosystem. There are options and that’s kind of what makes Sonos such a great choice for a lot of people. There are a lot of options when it comes to speakers.

Some are great one thing some are great at another. This is a speaker setup. That is good at everything that excels has one speaker, it’s part of an ecosystem that can give you a sort of spatial audio, can give you Dolby Atmos, there’s great over Wi-Fi AirPlay 2 support, and I was Bluetooth. It also has line in support. It’S kind of everything you would need in one speaker from a brand that is synonymous with really incredible audio Fidelity.
