Ser Pro Beelink Mini PC with AMD Radeon 680M

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Ser Pro Beelink Mini PC with AMD Radeon 680M”.
I get it I get it. Many PCs are cool and you’re excited for many PCs. What about a Radeon, 680m plus 7000 series, a 7735 HS processor and one tiny mysteriously heavy package? We get the sir Pro from b-link. Let’S take a look: it’s getting a little crazy, the mini PCS they’re littered around my house doing various jobs. I like I like the mini PCS.

This particular configuration comes with 32 gigabytes of memory and a 500 gig nvme Wi-Fi six two and a half gig land. It is a 19 volt, 6.32 amp power supply, that is over 120 watt power supply and this tiny little brick like package now, even though this is the ryzen, 7 7735 HS 7000 series, that’s Zen far right. No! This is not a Zen four think of it. As a Zen, three plus core, it is 7000 series and it is clocked and it does have that single thread performance, but it’s technically not Zen 4., and that’s something.

I’M only mentioning just to be absolutely crystal clear. Thank you for your choice during system boot process. If you cannot log into your personal account, please turn off Wi-Fi and land select, skip option and log into your personal account in the system. That’S Windows, 11., Microsoft, product managers.

Are you watching this kind of product? Packaging change is a result of your designed by committee. Login process designed to snare users in a morass of poorly planned Insanity, stop it good job b-link on helping the users figure that out, because when I buy one of these and ship it off to my grandma, if you can read she’s, not an idiot, and this Really helps people like her, not that it only ensnares Grandma it ensnares me too. Sometimes this one time I accidentally opted into a beta and what Microsoft interpreted that to mean is every single machine that I had signed into Windows 11. It put it on the Windows.

11 Insider ring every single machine because I opted into the Beta on one machine wow, it’s actually it’s a pretty metal case. It’S got breathable filters on both sides and a mesh filter on the top, so we’re going to suck air in from the top and blow it out the sides and rear get a nice big air vent at the back here. Radeon graphics, ryzen, 7, 7000 series. At the front, we’ve got two type: A and A type c, plus a combination, headphone microphone port and our power button at the rear. We got two HDMI and two type: a USB ports, One USB 2.0 and one USB 3 and then our two and a half gigabit Lan inside the box. For accessories, we have a tiny power cord.

We have our power, brick, which oh that’s most, of the weight of this package. The power brick is bigger than the computer, and then we have two HDMI cords. We’Ve got a really short one and a longer one, as well as our Visa mounting bracket and Visa screws. Now b-link has a pretty good design as far as Visa mounting goes. A lot of the monitors that we get into review, like our pixio monitors, for example, have their own separate stand, and then they have the standard, 75 or 100 millimeter Visa Mount at the rear. This mounts just the same.

In fact, it’s an identical form factor to the other b-link PC that we recently reviewed. Except this one is team red and, if I do say so, myself, the uh sort of I don’t know what you would call this metallic green. It’S like metallic forest, green. It’S a very attractive color, it’s got a nice fit and finish the fit, and finish is different than the other. One is what I’m saying, which is just matte black.

I mean don’t get me wrong. Matte black works. It’S really good! Well, the matte Black’s in the audience.

Please stand up how’s it going. I see. A lot of these mini PCS were entering kind of a weird era where it’s dual HDMI out. I prefer DisplayPort myself, but there are a lot of monitors on the market that are HDMI and we do have the one type c port at the front.

So we’ll try that and see how that works with the converter. Oh, it actually comes with a replacement dust filter for the Top. If you don’t like the uh, the sort of forest green, you can get a almost black sort of a very, very, very dark. It’S got an almost purple Hue to it, but it is basically black. You wouldn’t notice that it’s purple unless you’re looking at it really too closely, you’re, not the type of person that looks too closely in another person’s computer. Are you no well? It’S not going to be an issue then, but I, like this finish, it’s cool. They include an extra dust filter foreign. This is connected to our ASRock Phantom gaming ultrawide 3440×1440 display with a USBC to DisplayPort adapter.

Now, of course, HDMI works. Fine. You can use that if you want to use your USBC port for DisplayPort, you can, but you get a limited number of USB ports. You’Re working with here, I think you’re better off using it as USB, not DisplayPort, but hey.

You could run three displays if you really wanted to now. If you are all excited thinking that 680m is discrete graphics to know. This is just the graphics that’s built into our resin mobile processor, but it’s eight cores. 16 threads 32 gigabytes of memory on a ddr5 platform and that’s reflected in our geekbench scores. That 680m is no slouch. I wouldn’t recommend it for Esports titles or anything like that. But this is a productivity machine if you’re a programmer, if you’re doing web development or light application development. This honestly isn’t terrible.

As far as performance goes, I mean I’ve seen company saddle developers with i3s engage below if you’re one of those developers who is uh subjected to a core I3 with four gigs of memory. Is it this? Oh you’re just editing text files all day, you don’t need anything special, it hurts and my soul. This is much more tolerable at that sort of uh Enterprise, business class, friendly price point, disposable computers, single thread, boost clocks for what I’m seeing up to 4.6 gigahertz on this platform, again, not bad for a small form factor machine and not once from the tiny fan Installed in this did the sound level ramp up to what I would consider annoying just sort of somewhere between inaudible, most of the time, to a very, very low whoosh. In fact, the air conditioning in here is substantially louder than this machine is even on low.

Just from the sound of the air coming through the vents very impressive stuff now our geekbench scores are really impressive. For our 7735 HS, which remember, is a mobile processor. I mean it’s Juiced, it’s a Juiced mobile processor because it’s in a desktop form factor with better cooling than you get into the laptop, but our multi-core performance is over nine thousand and our single core performance is over 1500 in geekbench 5. and that’s without any tweaking Or tuning or anything else or ddr5 platform, and the thermal and power configuration is what makes this possible when AMD embarks on the eight core Journey with the ryzen 1700 more than five years ago? Did you think we would see something like this with this level of performance and such a tiny package? Oh, it’s exciting efficiency and power, and one thing uh so much fun.

We’Ve come so far the USBC Port supports DisplayPort. Does it support PCI Express tunneling, the oldie Cooler Master gaming box with the Radeon 7 installed? Could anything be more eclectic, switching our display to HDMI now rocking HDMI connecting USBC? Oh, those are happy. Beeps can’t confirm. Pcie tunneling does work, so this is a little bit of a cheat code if you want to add a medium to your performance.

Gpu, because remember, this interface is still only 40 gigabits fast. You could add something like a 6600 6600 XT. You know you can get an old mining GPU, something like that and add this to this platform and get discrete GPU Performance, Plus Eight cores Now’s the Time to get a cheap. You could get these Thunderbolt enclosures.

Okay, not the nice one from Cooler Master, this one’s really nice. It’S got a three and a half inch hard drive bay in the front there, SATA plus a built-in USB hub that one’s really good but the really inexpensive, Thunderbolt enclosures on eBay. I was getting those for like 50 bucks each make a deal, especially when you can add in a GPU later, especially a lower power GPU like a 1080 okay, a 1080 is getting a little long in the tooth. 2060. 6600. The 6600 honestly, is the sweet spot. If you’re going to do this for Thunderbolt, the 6600 is not going to bottleneck too badly, I mean 40. Gigabit is not fabulous in terms of the interface speed, but the fact you can do this very exciting.

I love off label uses, oh and if you want to go to the home lab route. Well, it’s a whole other different story, because you can pick up these nicer, Thunderbolt enclosures and do things like add 10 or 25 gigabit mix, which of course are not going to bottleneck with that 40 gigabit, USB C pcie, tunneled interface. We can’t really call it Thunderbolt. Thunderbolt is an Intel thing, but this is pcie. It’S Thunderbolt compatible. If you get an enclosure and oh boy, this is pretty exciting.

Well, that’s been a quick look at the b-link, sir Pro. Yes, sir and uh Pro tip from level. One tax at the usb-c Port does a lot more than it lets on probably also works with Thunderbolt docks, so you could run you know dual DisplayPort out if you get a cal digit or something like that, it’s probably not an officially supported or sanctioned configuration, but Hey I’m running a Radeon 7 off of the b-link and it was literally just plug it in and it works.

Okay, I got ta get the driver and everything else, but at least Windows Auto installed a reasonably working driver. So that’s pretty cool. We’Ve come a long way, team red a long, long, wait, tiny company with a relatively small number of Engineers being able to pull off of it.

Oh it’s cool stuff anyway, I’m until this level, one it’s been a fun quick. Look at the sir Pro from b-link and if you don’t plan to use Thunderbolt or anything like that, it still makes it really reasonable machine for the configuration of the price and all the options. Good job, b-link, good job on the packaging, good job on the options.

Good job on making sure that worked, I’m one of those level one I’m signing out. If I made a level one forums I’ll see you there, .
