So here we have a great streaming application, giving you access to over 200 live TV channels that you can enjoy on your fire. Stick on your Android TV now. This application also has thousands of movies and TV shows it doesn’t require any kind of registration, no usernames. No passwords, you don’t need to use any kind of VPN, it has a fully working program guide and it was updated today. So all of this great content fully updated massive Content Library that you can enjoy across all of your devices.

Now the application is the brand new version off Plex TV which we can see was updated today. The 2nd of February, and if you never use Plex before they really do, have a phenomenal library of movies TV shows and even live TV, and I recently added a discover section which will allow you to aggregate all of your different streaming services. Your Netflix’s, your hulus. Your Disney pluses, you could aggregate all of that content and access it through Plex.
Now, unfortunately, Amazon made a change a few weeks back where they actually blocked deep linking from third-party applications. Well, I’ve looked into this and I’ve actually found a fix so make sure you watch this video to the end, so I can show you exactly how to enable or get the Deep link working again. Let’S open that up now we can see the application.
Has a super nice clean layout, we have the main menu on the left where you have sections for home. You’Ve got a watch list. If you want to log in you, have the live, TV section movies and shows, and you have to discover, let’s start with the home, this will show you some of the most popular content on the platform. We can see all of these live channels that are on now different content, different genres, for a test. If I just tried this Midsummer Motors, we can see it’s a live show with 31 minutes left and we are straight into the episode and, as I always say, the best thing about these official applications is you’re not really going to see any kind of buffering or Any kind of stuttering all of this content is official content and they easily have the backend infrastructure to allow us to enjoy all of this content in high definition without any interruptions.
That’S working great. Let’S back out of that and when you press the back button, you are then instantly taken to the fully working EPG the electronic program guide. Now we can see all of the channels and we can see exactly what’s on now and we can move to the right to see what’s coming up next now, if you want to go through a big list of channels, you can also go to the top, and We can now see we have the different categories. So if I’m interested in local channels, let’s click on local and it will then filter out the content and show you the local channels, only entertainment. You have channels for movies Sports.
We can see lots of different channels in here um. Let’S just try one of these I’d love to be a bit careful but um. Let’S just try the poker Channel.
Let’S click on that again, we can see this. One has 30 minutes left in the live stream and again we are taken instantly into the broadcast and one of the great things about plex is, I haven’t seen many adverts with this application. Typically, with these official free streaming applications, they are ad supported, but with what I’ve seen so far, there’s not really many or any adverts inside Plex. So that’s the live TV Guide.
Let’S go to the left, then you have movies and shows, and here you’ll see guys they’ve actually got some very. Very popular movies and TV shows your categories like black stories. Dojo binge-worthy shows, let’s just try one of these. Now we can see for in the show’s content you can see if something has multiple seasons.
Let’S try season two just to show you that it’s not just one episode or one show or one channel, because this is an official application. Everything in here it’s working. It’S working straight away and again, no adverts, that’s looking good! Let’S back out for that, then you have the Discover section.
So this really was a great addition to the application whereby they allowed you to aggregate from your other official streaming services. So, instead of you opening up five different applications, I can just open up Plex and I can now see the content across all of my different applications. For example, here we can see uh. This thing here says it’s training on Netflix. Now, normally, if you try to click on this, you’d see a message saying that deep linking is no longer supported, but we can see when Tech doctor clicks on air one click.
We are instantly taken to Netflix and I’m hoping we should go straight to that show, and it’s done exactly that so do give a thumbs up for that. So I can now click on play and enjoy that content. Let’S go back to Plex. Let’S just do one more test just to make sure that this is actually working.
So, let’s say, for example, we have stuff here on Disney Plus and let us try um Willow click on that it shows it’s available on Disney plus, and can I click on that? Yes, I can, and will it actually launch the application? Okay, this one actually shows your pop-up, so I’m going to click on always give that a second and we are taken straight into the content, so super easy to do. Let me now show you how you can get this application on all of your devices now, if you don’t care about deep linking – and you just want to get the latest version of this application, all you need to do is just go to search and then just Search for the word Plex, and this will allow you to install the latest version now, if you do care about deep linking on your Amazon devices, the fix is basically to install a different version of Plex, and that version is the Android TV version, because, as you Can imagine with the ruling from Amazon they’re forced people for third-party Amazon applications that they cannot include the Deep linking functionality? But if we use the Android TV version, then of course that has the feature still built in and we can use that version to launch.
