Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “The BEST Apple Accessory Replacements 2023!”.
What’S going on guys, it’s your average consumer, and this is my desk setup here at the studio. This is where I get my stuff done. Whenever we are at the office and uh, I don’t think I’ve ever really shown you guys what this looks like. So you know here it is uh.
One thing you might notice is that I am using Logitech peripherals. Uh Logitech was cool enough to sponsor today’s video, but kind of like at home. In my desk setup in the man cave, I got a lot of love for Logitech gear, so it’s no surprise that that’s what we’re seeing over here at the studio and you might notice I am on a Mac when it comes to work stuff. That’S the operating system I use and Logitech does make some gear specifically for the Mac, so we’re going to talk about that today, so check it out guys. Now, I’m sure a lot of you are familiar with logitech’s MX line. They have some of the best peripherals out when it comes to computers, uh and I absolutely love it. The MX masterline has an amazing reputation when it comes to like productivity and like office use. I’Ve been rocking with the mxline since the original. What was what was that one called Jay? It was just the MX.
Was it performance? This is the Logitech MX performance Mouse either way, the new ones are really good and they have a lot of functionality. Uh one thing that’s great about these – is that forever they’ve had some of the best ergonomics when it comes to using a mouse whenever someone is looking for a mouse, but they don’t want a game or anything. My absolute first recommendation. So if you’re not trying to go the huh, the Magic Mouse route – and you want something – that’s not sold by Apple – I’m telling you – this is probably going to be your best bet this they held on to this look for so long.
Let’S actually talk about some of the features that this thing has right. So, first of all, it feels really good in the hand uh great scroll wheels that you can actually change the feeling of. So if you want it to be clicky or smooth, you can go ahead and change that with the Press of a button right here. But what’s nice is that it also has a horizontal wheel as well. So if you wanted to scroll on, like let’s say an editing timeline, you can scroll left and right with this now. One of the best things about this mouse, though, is the fact that it’s so customizable you can go into the Logitech options, plus software, and in here you can tweak the way.
Almost everything behaves so in the software. You can change the scroll wheel to do like zoom in volume control all kinds of stuff. There’S honestly a lot you can do and fine tune with this mouse. I think it’s extremely versatile.
That’S why I love it. You can even pair it with multiple devices up to three there’s, just a lot that you can do with this. I’M a huge fan of it. I’Ve recommended this line for years to friends and family to you guys, so this one is a no-brainer.
Now there was so much success with this mouse that they started coming out with keyboards to match the line and they’ve got a few good ones out there. So this is the MX keys and they’ve got a couple of versions of this one. This particular one has the number pad on the side.
If you want a smaller keyboard, they’ve got the option without it, but this is a great feeling keyboard. That’S one thing I can almost guarantee with Logitech: they have a really good feeling keyboards when it comes to typing and what’s nice with this one, a lot of keyboards that you might want to use with the Mac sometimes aren’t made for the Mac, even though they Might feel great, they don’t have the proper keys. This one is completely decked out with the Mac in mind, so you’ve got your control option command keys, all that and even your keys at the top, your shortcuts.
You have access to all the keys that you would find on one of Apple’s keyboards right over here now. Apple’S keyboards are fine, but if you want something with a little bit more height a little bit more depth, I think that these are a really great option. Not to mention the fact that this just like this guy can be paired with multiple devices, so I can pair this thing up with my Mac Studio, an iPad, even my phone, if I wanted to – and I can switch between them with just the Press of a Button now, what’s cool about this one is that it’s backlit and it can detect when your fingers are over it, which I still don’t know how exactly they pull that off like how does it know, but either way I love that feature uh and it doesn’t drain Your battery, it’s like great on the battery because your keys aren’t backlit when you’re not using it, so it only comes on when you do. I think it’s awesome.
So if you’re looking for peripherals specifically for the Mac uh, these two are great options. I mean I’m a pretty go hard, blocky type user. If you can’t tell by now, I think so far for the Mac they’ve got the best options available and I I know they sponsored this video and all. But, like that’s, that’s legit! It’S from the heart.
You guys, you see my setups, they didn’t sponsor all those videos and they’re there, and now we know that they make stuff for the Mac, but they’ve also got options for the iPad. So this is the Logitech combo touch. Now this is a combo, I guess uh. So we’ve got a case here.
Oh actually should be using this like like that. That makes more sense, I’m just so used to it being this way I mean, if you hold it horizontal, it makes sense to put it in this way right. It has the either way we digressed now. This is a case for the iPad, and this is cool, because not only do you have like a full-blown case that fully protects it.
This feels solid um, but you also get a keyboard and you get a kickstand in the back now the back is adjustable quite a bit. It can get really low if you wanted to dang. That’S really low, but what’s nice is that it’s got this backlit keyboard uses ambient light sensors when it should actually go on, but what’s nice here is that you still get access to those function. Keys. Those shortcut keys, rather so you can control different parts of the OS right from here volume controls, brightness controls, even a home button, which is really nice. I think that’s something that’s been missing on the regular, like smart keyboards.
That Apple makes so having that there is really nice, and this just makes sense. What’S also great, is that you get this trackpad we’ve had trackpad support for iPad OS for a while now, and this works just like you would expect it to. It makes for a really nice combination here, um, not to mention the keyboard. Experience is great boom.
I mean it’s as good of a keyboard, as you would expect for the iPad. Considering such a low profile, the keys have pretty good travel. They feel really nice to type on, and it’s detachable like, if you don’t want it to be a part of your case uh, you can just take it off use the case, as is go into regular tablet mode.
I think this is a really good option for those who want to fully protect their iPad and have a typing experience as well as trackpad. So if you want to kind of use this like a laptop or some sort, this is as close as you’re gon na get. Is this capable? So they have options for almost all the iPads.
So this is a 10th Generation, but they also have it for the pro model as well, and the pro model can have the function key as well, which Apple doesn’t make yeah. They have it for the new iPad and you’re right Jay. That is something that’s missing. On the newest iPads, just having those function, keys, dang, I know what I want for Christmas. So if that’s been a pain point for those of you iPad Pro users who want access to these function keys, this might be the one to get now, what’s also cool. As Logitech came out with the crayon, this is the Logitech crayon for the iPad, as you’d expect.
It works similarly to the apple pencil, but this also has some cool features that I like a lot so one of those being right here it has USBC. So you can plug a USBC cable right into it, charge it up like that, and you also get these battery indicators, so you can see just how much charge you’ve got left and it has an on and off switch. So you don’t have to keep it on the entire time. Have it waste battery while it’s connected, you can just turn it off as you need to, and the latency is great here now.
I guess I’ll show you guys my amazing drawing skills. I’M gon na go with my my go-to. Do you remember my go-to Jay? You know you don’t remember, I’m sure I’ve done it before. Just just tell me, if you you can guess where I’m going with this person? Oh no! No! No! No! No! No! No! I thought that was the here I mean it is. It is a person, okay. What what do we think uh Spiderman there you go there. You go yeah at this point right pretty late in the game.
You answered that Jay yeah. I did. I did a horrible job.
I forgot to draw the eyes in first, but either way this thing has like great latency. So if you’re like a serious artist, I shouldn’t have any real issues with that. This thing also has like an interesting technique where, depending on how you tilt the pen, it’ll change the way your pencil works. So if I have it directly on that’s the sharp point, but as I tilt it to the side, it’s kind of like drawing with the side of a pencil, so it gets wider and wider depending on how much you tilt it. I think that’s cool, but yeah. There’S not much you’ll miss out on with something like this: it’s cheaper than the apple pencil, but still has a lot of really great functionality.
I think some things that really make sense like battery indicators, direct charging but yeah you guys. This was just some of the cool accessories that Logitech has come out with for Apple devices, so, whether it’s the Mac or the iPad, there are just lots of cool things that Logitech makes that you might want to check out if you guys are interested like in A full tour of this before it gets broken down.
