Samsung S9 vs iPhone X – Battery Comparison

Samsung S9 vs iPhone X - Battery Comparison

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Samsung S9 vs iPhone X – Battery Comparison”.
What’S up folks how’s it going! This is watch hope you guys are all doing well and in this article we’re going to be doing a head head battery life comparison between the new samsung galaxy s9 and the iphone 10. Now the key thing that we want to note is that the s9 is very similar in terms of the previous generation s8. They both have 3 000 milliamp hours, both have wireless and fast charging capabilities and with the new iphone 10, we have uh integrated wireless charging, which is pretty good. It is a little bit of a smaller battery rated at 27.16, a milliamp hours and in terms of general charge times, i could typically get a full charge on my s9 under 100 minutes versus it takes about 125 minutes. On my iphone 10.

now, testing out battery life critically is a little bit challenging, since most people are going to be using different apps on a day-to-day basis and it’s highly vulnerable from person to person device device, but to keep things as basic and as simple as Possible what we always do is a simple video playback test. I download the vlc app on both devices, set it onto airplane mode and we simply loop a video to infinity and we set the brightness about 50 percent and just see how long it takes to fully discharge the battery from a hundred to zero percent. Now we actually repeated the same test a couple months ago with the s8 and the s9 hasn’t really improved, as you can see over here, we’re getting about 13 hours 48 minutes and on the iphone 10 we’re getting about 14 hours. Eight minutes so not a huge difference between uh the two smartphones and not a huge improvement from the previous generation.

A galaxy s8 now moving on geekbench has a pretty good battery life comparison test on both ios and android. So we typically like to run that as well. So here are the results over here on the s9, we got a score of about 3990 and we’ve got about 28.03 on the iphone 10 in terms of actual run times, uh to actually drain the battery. It took about six hours 39 minutes on our s9 versus it took about four hours. 43 minutes on the iphone 10.. Now keep in mind that the ios and android platform is a little bit different. So it’s hard to judge from an apples to apples comparison, uh.

I’Ve been using both phones on and off again for a couple of weeks now with the s9 and i’ve been using the iphone 10 since its launch, and typically from my perspective, i can generally go a day and a half with my iphone 10 without having to Charge it, but most of the time i’m going to charge it anyways and since it’s all being wirelessly charged on my desk all the time. I’D typically, never ever have a problem with the battery life and it’s pretty much the same story when it comes to the s9. I did a battery endurance test to see how long i can last uh throughout the couple of days, and i got through about two days of usage – it’s a brand new device, so the battery life is going to be typically good when it’s uh kind of brand New and as you continue to use the device, i typically find that most of these smartphones these days, uh battery performance, tends to go down as you use it more and in fact, i’m going to do a video later on coming out soon to see how a Typical smartphone does, throughout the year in terms of battery performance, so definitely stay tuned for that video, but really other than that.

Guys, that’s really it. Hopefully this gave you a quick perspective on how these two comparators of battery life, not a huge difference. In my opinion, and also if you’re interested in the camera test, comparison, we’ve also done that so click on the card or check out the description down below. But on that thanks again for watching and we’ll see you in the next one take care. .
