RTX 2060 Review - Better Than GTX 1070ti?

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “RTX 2060 Review – Better Than GTX 1070ti?”.
What’S up folks how’s it going this watch hope you guys are all doing well. So, since being back from cs, i’ve been doing a lot of testing with the new rtx 2060.. Now we have the zotek amp edition of the card and we want to do a comparison directly against the gtx 1070 ti, which supposedly will get similar performance results. So we have an evga version of that car. We’Re also going to be taking a look at how it compares against a uh 2070, as well as the previous generation 1060.. So, if you’re interested in seeing how the rtx 2060 is in terms of general gaming performance, this is a perfect video for you and let’s get right into it.

RTX 2060 Review - Better Than GTX 1070ti?

Now the zotek’s rtx 2060 amp edition, isn’t a huge departure from the factory reference grade. 2060 you’re. Basically, looking at a faster boost frequency of 1800 megahertz versus 1680 megahertz on the factory card – and you do have an upgraded cooler, so you do have more overclocking potential, possibly as well now compared to the zotek’s gtx 1060 that we reviewed a couple of years back.

The 2060 is massively more powerful, capable using the 12 nanometer architecture that all the touring based rtx cards are using and it’s the cheapest card to offer real time ray tracing. Now we’re going to be comparing the 2060 versus uh the amp extreme version of a zotex 2070 as well as last year’s 1060 car from zotek, as well as an evga gtx 1070 ti. You can see that we have the specifications laid out right in front of you, so you can evaluate the different parameters now in terms of performance. The 2060 is going to be comparable to what you’re going to find on a 1070 ti. We’Ll definitely take a look at that when we take a look at our benchmark. Results msrp for the 2060 is going to start at around 350 dollars. We have a amp edition from zotex, which is around 380 to 370 and uh, depending upon where you’re going to get your 1070 ti’s. You can certainly get it used for cheaper than what it retailed for, but it’s around 500, more or less and uh.

Most of the time you can get a 1060 for around 200 or even less the 2070 amp extreme card that we have from zotek at msrp for around 630 dollars, but it’s actually on sale on amazon for under 560. So that’s definitely not too bad. Now, on battlefield 5, with the ray tracing capabilities, that of the rtx 2060 inherently has a 1080p with dlss off we’re getting about 124 average frames per second with it on you’re, getting around 75 frames per second. So that’s a huge impact to uh the frame rate.

As you would expect right now, the dlss optimization for battlefield 5 is going to be fairly poor, since the car just came out and driver support should be better as we go into the months, but generally speaking, most people are probably not turning on this feature. Since this impacts performance at a significant level, but in terms of uh comparing the 2060 against the other cards on battlefield 5, we have over here the 1080p quad hd and ultra hd standards as ultra detail settings now coming from the 1060. You can see that there’s a massive improvement in terms of uh frame rates and pretty much all of the resolutions on the new 2060, which is awesome to see and based on our experience on this particular title. It’S even faster by three to four percent than the 1070 ti, which is awesome to see, and it’s not too far behind the uh 2070, but that’s kind of expected uh at this point now, interestingly, if you take a look at our time, spy synthetic benchmark results.

Uh, this is obviously a directx 12, a benchmark, we’re looking at slightly faster performance on our 1070 ti compared to the 2060, not by a huge margin, but a slight margin. Nonetheless, and obviously our 2070 is going to be significantly faster. Getting 9 600 points now compared to the previous generation 1060 that this card theoretically replaces you’re looking at massive performance gains over 70 percent, in fact, with the fact that we’re getting around 4 200 points on the previous generation at 1060..

Now, at this point, we’re gon na kick in to the real world benchmark results, so you’re going to be taking a look at a couple of different other titles at the three resolutions that we already talked about. So that way, you have a better idea in terms of how the 2060 compares against the other three cards in those parameters. So let’s get right into that now.

For the most part, i think it’s safe to say that the 2060 is faster than the previous generation. 1070 ti certainly a huge upgrade from the previous generation 1060 and the only real argument against it is if you can potentially find a significantly cheap 1070 ti that could definitely rival the price to performance ratio of what you’re going to find most of the rtx 2060s. Currently available right now, but the pricing will definitely get better as we hopefully go throughout 2019. The only exception uh to the nvidia side of things goes will be, is if you get a good deal on a used, uh 1080. A 1080 will definitely beat a 1060 in all different measures, so that could be a potentially good argument, a good alternative, but right now, if you want to get into a brand new, modern, contemporary graphics card that has uh ray tracing capabilities. Certainly, the 2060 is definitely your most economical option at this point, but it has pretty good general gaming performance, as we demonstrated now, if you’re interested in seeing how it compares against the nvidia counterpart, specifically uh.

The vega 56 will have a video for that. You can click on the card or check out the description for more details. If you want information about our benchmarking rig, you can also find that down below. In the meantime, i want to thank you guys so much for watching definitely love to hear your thoughts on the new 2060.

Will you be upgrading if you’re coming from a at 1060? Definitely worth it in my opinion, but again love to hear your thoughts. Give us a thumbs up again and we’ll see you later take care. .
