Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “GTX 1660ti vs RTX 2060 vs GTX 1070”.
Hey what’s up folks how’s it going! This watch hope you guys are all doing well. So today we’re going to be taking a look at the gtx 1660 ti. We have the gigabyte gaming oc version over here. Uh, we’re specifically going to take a look at the performance, uh benchmark results of this card compared to the step up model, which is the rtx 2060, as well as the previous generation gtx 1070.. So, if you’re interested in seeing how the 1660 ti fares against the other nvidia counterpart graphics cards is a perfect video for you without any further ado, let’s get right into the specifications and then into the benchmarks. Now, certainly, one of the big objectives for the gtx 1660i from nvidia sign was to cut out the ray tracing and tensor cores in order to produce a faster, a more traditional style gpu at a more cost effective price range.
Now the card is still based off of the current generation touring architecture. We have about 1536 cuda cores compared to 1920 on both uh, the gtx 1070 and the rtx 2060.. In terms of transistor count.
We have 6.6 billion on the 1660 ti versus about 10.8 billion. On the rtx 2060 and about 7.2 billion on the previous generation 1070., you can also see that we have a higher than factory overclock settings since we have the gigabyte oc version over here, which can boost up to 1860 megahertz uh compared to the reference grade. Uh 1770 megahertz. Now in terms of video memory, all three of these cards are actually have the same capacity so about six gigabytes, but we have gddr6 on the new generation cars compared to the gdr5 found on the 1070..
The 1070 does have a larger, a memory. Bus about 256 bit wide versus the other two are 192 bits and the 1660 ti is probably going to be the most power efficient card, rated at 120 watts tdp. Now, in terms of price point, the 1660 ti roughly starts around 279 dollars and goes up from there.
You can get a gtx 1070 of these days for a little bit cheaper than the original msrp, but uh. If you do want brand new they’re, still kind of pricey at around 350 to 380 dollars, obviously you can find one used for a little bit cheaper and the rtx 2060 is around a 350 dollar range. Now, let’s get into the actual performance benchmark results we’re going to take a look at time, spy and then our real world gaming benchmark results in two different resolutions, including full hd and quad hd resolution. So let’s get right into it. So now, to sum up, as you’ve seen from benchmark results, the 1660 ti definitely outperforms the gtx 1070 in pretty much every scenario you can.
Think of so that’s definitely awesome news. Now. The real comparison between the rtx 2060 is a little bit more interesting generally. We find anywhere between five to eight percent performance boost when you step up to the higher end card.
But unless you really need rage racing, i don’t see a reason to really grab that graphics card, especially if you’re on a mid-range pc building budget. And if you really want to get the most bang for the dollar right now and want to get a new nvidia graphics card, i definitely think that the gtx 1660 ti is an awesome option. Uh most these cards are well under the 300 mark. You can typically grab something like this of around 275 280 dollars, which is a definitely pretty awesome.
