Nintendo Switch OLED Model - Unboxing and Overview

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Nintendo Switch OLED Model – Unboxing and Overview”.
What’S up folks how’s it going, this watch hope you guys are all doing well and today we’re going to be doing an unboxing and overview of the switch oled. Basically, we’re going to see what comes inside the box, the key differences between this and the standard version of the switch and, first and foremost, in terms of the box itself. It’S definitely a lot more compact than the original switchbox that we have right over here, which definitely is a good thing in terms of shipping costs. Environmental impact things like that.

But let’s get right into the new oled and see what comes inside super easy and simple to open up nintendo products, because they don’t really use any packing tape or anything like that. And we have obviously the a white version of the switch, which is a new color, but they obviously have the two-tone red and blue versions available as well. Here’S the new seven inch display, which we’ll take a look at in a little bit, we’re gon na take out the two white joy-cons and then inside over here we have some health and safety paperwork in the next layer.

We have more goodies. So here is the hdmi cable. This is a standard hdmi 1080p rated cable, since the new switch can really output 1080p. It’S not 4k rated. Unfortunately, here’s our power adapter, let’s see if it’s similar to the older gen, which it is so here’s the power adapter and as you can see that it’s still a usb a c base. So super simple and straightforward to charge and a very similar overall power supply.

As the original switch next, here’s our controller base for the joy cons, pretty much identical to the previous generation from my memory and then the last two items are the joy-con straps over here and we’ll probably fit these onto the joycons to see how they look continuing Forward we’re going to take a look at the dock over here and there’s nothing else inside the box. So here’s the new switch oled dock. As you can see it matches the color of the console which is nice inside.

It is kind of a kind of piano black finish. We have two usb type, a connections right there and we should have a new connection which is actually an ethernet port right down there, as well as an hdmi and a usbc connection for the ac adapter. So a very similar overall kind of a design, but obviously a new color scheme. Okay, so here are the white joy cons for the oled model. They pretty much feel exactly the same as the previous generation same in terms of form factor design function.

In fact, here we have some older generation joy-cons and just as a quick comparison, the buttons the thumb sticks, they kind of feel very, very similar. There might be some internal reinforcements, but i kind of highly doubt it. Obviously, the first generation switches were notorious for having analog thumbstick drifts, and hopefully these are a little bit more resilient and a little bit more durable a long term. All the accessories uh feel quite similar to the previous generation uh in terms of form function.

Everything like that, i’m gon na be really excited to see how these kind of pair up uh with the new seven-inch display, which we’ll get into right now. Okay, so here’s the star of the show, the new 7-inch oled display and straight off the bat you can see that it. It definitely has a smaller overall bezels than the previous generation and we’ll obviously do a more full in-depth comparison in a separate video.

But let’s put on these suckers over here to see the console in its final form and there it is looks, awesome, definitely a lot more modern looking and as you can see, the kickstand has been significantly reinforced. It’S no longer that flimsy a little thing at the back. You can actually utilize it and it won’t break after a few months usage.

So definitely a big improvement in terms of design. Overall, the switch oled is very similar to the previous generation internally and even the screen resolution is the exact same 720p display, but obviously there’s a big improvement in terms of color rendition, brightness and obviously the black levels have been significantly improved as well. I’M going to go ahead and set this thing up and then we’re going to finally do our side by side in depth. Comparison between the oled switch and the standard switch to see whether it’s worth upgrading to if you’re coming from the older generation.

But on that i make sure you’ve uh have post notifications turned on on our channel subscribe. If you haven’t done so already and check out the description for more details about everything, we’ve talked about, see you real soon in the next article .
