The Division 2 — GTX 1060 vs 1070 vs 1080 vs 1080 Ti — 1080p, 1440p, & 4K

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “The Division 2 — GTX 1060 vs 1070 vs 1080 vs 1080 Ti — 1080p, 1440p, & 4K”.
Hello and welcome to tech deals. I have a special treat for you today. Three resolutions tested four graphics cards from the 10 series in the division. Two charts will be at the end, but i’m going to show you each benchmark twice, so you can see it both. Full screen, as well as close up in the upper left hand corner. We have the six gigabyte version of the gtx 1060. upper right is the gtx 1070 bottom left is the 1080, and the bottom right is the venerable 1080 ti still a spectacular graphics card today. Actually, all of these graphics cards are amazing today in their own right, so long as you don’t expect more of them cyberpunk than they are really designed to provide. Although the 1080 ti is not too bad in that, but the 1060 and 1070 are definitely showing their age. We are at 1080p high detail in this run. I will show you 1440p in a second and 4k just a minute after that we are maintaining over 60 frames per second, mostly not in the one percent low on the gtx 1060.. This makes sense because the division ii is a two and a half year old game. If you have a four or five year old graphics card, which is really what these are becoming now, then don’t try to play.

Cyberpunk play two-year-old games play three-year-old games play games that were designed with these cards in mind. They really have aged out, maybe with the exception of the 1080 ti for the latest games, but for a lot of games over the past few years, of which the division 2 is a great example and a great example of a well-optimized gameplay from ubisoft. I know shocking, but it’s true uh. In fact, if you’ve got a 1080p high refresh rate monitor, take a look at the 1070 and 1080 100 frames per second average on the 1070.

124 frames per second average on the 1080.. No, that’s not 144 frames per second, but if you have a freesync or g-sync monitor, that’s not bad moving right along to 1440p yeah. The 1060 is not meant for that. In fact, it never really was from day one.

Although i do remember people saying to me back in 2016 and even 2017 come on man, the six gigabyte card could do 1440p, yeah kinda sorta and an rtx 3060 today can as well, but it’s not gon na last. Very long – and this is not even the max detail – and this is not a new game – so 45 frames per second on the gtx 1060 64 on the 1070 respectable, although i can tell you from real world experience that it’s going to completely fall apart. Once you get into real combat, the 1080 is better at 82 and the 1080 ti is holding on at 105 frames per second. If you have a 1440p monitor and you have a 1080 or 1080 ti, you can still play a bunch of games.

Not i know cyberpunk everybody’s sick of hearing about cyberpunk, but it’s just it’s sort of the canary in the coal mine. It’S the warning of the future that is coming, however, ghost recon breakpoint the division ii. Oh shoot there’s like 5 billion games that came out in the past three years, almost that you could certainly play on these cards zooming into the numbers, so you can see them more clearly, you can see the frame rates there, uh 80s and 100 respectively. For the 1080 and 1080 ti are very nice.

You don’t need an i9 10 900k in order to get this level of performance, although it helps especially in heavy combat situations, but an i5 10 600 or an i5 10 400 or a ryzen, 5, 24, 2600 or 3600 six score 12 thread. Chip is generally fine for player versus environment combat in the division. Two pvp in the dark zone can get more demanding again raised hands speak from experience. You can definitely use all the cores if you’ve got them now notice.

Here, we’ve ditched the gtx 1060. 4k. On the 1060 is utterly ridiculous. I didn’t bother testing it, i’m not even going to have that conversation.

I know it’s kind of interesting, but everything i test takes time. The gtx 1070 is averaging 32 frames per second, it’s playable, but yeah the 1080 no yeah again. Playable but the 1080 ti is struggling along at 55 frames per second, if you’re a 4k gamer you pretty much, are committing to buying new graphics cards on a regular basis. If you want to play the latest and greatest games you don’t have to, but the 1080 ti at 4k really has reached the end of the road here. It is playable it’s functional, but yeah. Now here’s the chart for the 1080p high detail. You can see here the one percent lows are respectable: 54, 81, 102 and 121. The 1440p numbers here, 1070, 1080 still, okay, but heavy combat is going to drag that down and then none of these cards are going to hold 60 frames per second at high detail. At 4k, all things considered pretty respectable performance thanks so much for watching this video like it comment subscribe. Let me know what you think in the comment section below check the links in the video description below, and i appreciate all of you watching. I will see you next time you .
