Ghost Recon Breakpoint — GTX 970 vs 1070 vs RTX 2070 vs 3070 — @ 1080p / 1440p / 4K — Benchmark

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Ghost Recon Breakpoint — GTX 970 vs 1070 vs RTX 2070 vs 3070 — @ 1080p / 1440p / 4K — Benchmark”.
Hello and welcome to tech deals comparing the 70 series going back seven years to the gtx 970 one game, three resolutions: four cards tested upper left-hand corner. You can see we have the venerable gtx 970, which is still a reasonably good card in some situations, although as you’re going to see here, it falls apart pretty quickly. If you ask too much of it, then in the upper right hand corner we have the still amazing gtx 1070, which, if you own one, given the current difficulties in gpu availability in may of 2021, when i’m recording this frankly, you probably might want to just keep And live with for a bit the rtx, 2070 and 3070 are on the bottom left and right, respectively and at 1080p resolution. Neither of those are really needed for a game like this, at least for player, combat with high detail selected. This is not ultra. This is not very high. This is high detail preset, which does help a lot of games run better if you set everything to ultra frankly, sometimes the frame rate gets cut way down for only a small improvement in overall visual quality. As i love to say, ultra is for screenshots high detail is for gaming. Now the rtx 3070 does have a very impressive frame right here of 180 frames per second and over 130 frames per second of the one percent low.

This is a 1080p. If you have a 1080p 144hz monitor – and you want to get 144 frames per second in well somewhat newer games – this is not exactly new. It’S two and a half years old, then yeah, an rgx 3070 is what you need. On the other hand, if you’ve got a 1440p 144hz monitor, maybe you need an rtx 3080.

I know that sounds crazy, but is it a 3070 design for 1440p? Well, yes, it is, but if you want 144 frames per second, allow me to remind you. This game launched in 2018, not 2020 or 2021. The gtx 970 falls apart and, yes, the frame performance is that bad? It’S a vram limitation at 1440p.

High detail. The game simply cannot cope with the lack of vram. It technically has four gigs, but really only three and a half gigs is full speed. We won’t get into that here, but, as you can see that that just isn’t functional, interestingly enough, if 60 frames per second is your goal. A gtx 1070 does pretty well at 1440p.

Look at that 86.85 frames per. Second, that’s not bad! Now it’s going to vary in various points and, of course, if you get heavy foliage and you get heavy combat, it’s going to drop some more, but you’ll average about 60-ish frames per second, which is not bad. Considering that the gtx 1070 is definitely not a new card anymore, if you have an rtx 2070, keep it unless of course, you’re trying to do 4k, we’re over 100 frames per second at the moment, and the rtx 2070 still has a couple of years left in It at 1440p, so long as you avoid games like cyberpunk, which i know some of you have a love-hate relationship with it is pretty brutal, but over the next year or two you’re really gon na find these cards start to fall apart in the next generation of Games especially now that the new consoles are out future ports that are exclusive to the new consoles, are going to be more demanding than what you’re used to shadow of the tomb raider division, 2, ghost recon breakpoint and others that are two years old, still run fine. On most of these cards even at 4k, i would like to point out that the rtx 2070 is averaging about 60 frames per second at 4k.

Now, that’s remarkable, because the 70 series is not normally a 4k car. However, i have a hundred plus hours in this game and i can tell you from experience that 60 frames per second will not hold during the heaviest battle situations. It’S nice, it’s great, but here’s what you’d need to do.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint — GTX 970 vs 1070 vs RTX 2070 vs 3070 — @ 1080p / 1440p / 4K — Benchmark

You’D need to set render resolution to about 70 or 80 percent and then you’d hold 60 frames per second, i used to play this game on my 1080 ti, which is very similar to the 2070 and yes, the benchmark runs at 60 frames per second there, but It really doesn’t hold. You need to scale down just a bit. The 3070 will actually do.

Okay, since it’s the performance of a 2080 ti versus the 1080 ti. You can see here we’re getting 100 frames per second and that will maintain 60 frames per second average. Even in most heavy combat situations in this game, ghost recon breakpoint came out and it was terribly optimized, but it’s been improved over the years. Vulcan api has been added some other optimizations and that’s why you’re seeing this performance, the launch version of the game would not run this well, and this is why updated testing of two-year-old games is important, because if you go back and look at the launch benchmarks of This game on these cards, while the 3070 didn’t exist, but the 2070 did and you look at these tests – you’ll see that the performance is noticeably better than the launch game was now cpu is important as well.

This isn’t really a cpu test. You’Ll notice that the cpu usage climbs the higher the frame rate is, that is because you need more cpu power, the faster your graphics card. This is one of the reasons why i’ve been recommending over buying your cpu. If you plan to upgrade your graphics card in the near future, because more frames require more world generation, collision, detection and geometry generation, it’s important here – you can see the charts which i’m not going to narrate because they’ll go by pretty quick, but you can pause and Take a look at them if you’re interested the 970 does kind of sort of function at 1080p. But let’s be honest: that card is past its prime, but all the other cards work reasonably well at 1440p and the 2070 and 3070 are at least options at 4k, which is a lot more than i can say in a number of other games.

Ghost recon break point has definitely been improved like this video, if you like it, share it with your friends.
