Hello there and thank you, viewers and lurkers alike. I’M muse – and this is another fun unboxing. I know you’re thinking to yourself. What’S in the box muse? Well, it’s actually.
The avermedia live gamer 4k capture card. That’S right! So today, i’m gon na unbox this little beauty for you and i’m gon na pop it in a computer and we’re actually gon na use it to capture some footage of the mac mini so fun fact. This little bad boy is actually what we use to capture all of our benchmark footage and what we’re going to be using to capture all of our ps5 live game, footage uh and any of our game reviews as well as any other 4k captures that we need To do like the mac mini reviews that we plan to do for you guys um, so definitely keep an eye on the channel.
It’Ll be a lot of fun to be had with this little guy and it’s what they’ve been using for all of the benchmarks. So you can definitely see it performing along our other channels. This little card also has something. That’S legend. Wait for it, dairy, that’s right. It’S called rgb.
Most of you knew where i was going with that all right. So, let’s open this bad boy pop it in the computer and uh start making rainbows. So here we have the front of the box. Here we have the side of the box.
Here we have the back of the box, the top of the box, the other side of the box and the bottom of the box. All right that was exciting. Wasn’T it it was exciting all right. So this has in english uh it’s 4k 60 fps hdr video capture, full hd, 240 frames per second high frame rate video capture.
So obviously the 240fps is not at 4k. That’S going to be at your lower resolution. Supports h265 video compression. Alright, 7.1 5.1 channel surround sound, pass through recentral record and stream. 4K content. That’S exciting. So, basically, it’s console to desktop capture, uh or desktop to desktop capture, because you don’t want to capture even if you’re capturing game footage on a computer, especially if you’re uh benchmarking and you need to show how well the graphics card is functioning. You don’t want to capture on the computer that you’re using, because that is actually taking some of the compute power from your computer, so you’re not really challenging the graphics card and the cpu fairly um, if you’re capturing on the same device.
So you want to capture on a separate device to show what your device is actually doing and actually capable of. If that makes sense, i know it’s something that i didn’t really think about until i was actually challenging all the hardware here, so i i just never really thought about it. I was like oh yeah i’ll, just pull up obs and do all my game captures right. There on the same device, but that actually slows the game down because you need to be capturing on a separate device. So that’s a fun fact of the day there you guys probably all knew that and you’re like uh, noob, muse, noob muse and that’s fine i’ll catch up. And yes, i realize this capture card is from 2018. We never did an unboxing of it.
So uh it’s happening now deal with it all right. It would have been easier to read. All of that had i removed the plastic first 50 50 chance and i picked the wrong direction.
Okay, hey! This is another one. This is apparently a common practice. These days, they all want to be as modern and basic as apple but they’re, afraid of not actually marketing and promoting their product enough on the outside of the actual product box itself, which to be fair. If someone has ordered your product, it’s probably because they know those things all right and opens like a shoe box.
A nice shoebox, some foam keep that for some armor, i’m kidding it’s the wrong kind of foam. Okay, let’s see here. So this is our capture card. I know it’s not cutting edge anymore, but it’s still an awesome capture card and it still has rgb going for it and it’s still one of the best um capture cards for 4k at its price point.
So i definitely still think it’s a great uh capture card. Even though i know it’s from 2018, but it’s not like, we’ve had a lot of releases that are really you know, worlds ahead of it or anything. Um now, probably soon given 5ks coming out with some new products, we’ll probably have 5k capture cards pretty soon, but for now this little bad boy will do the trick all right there you have it, i’m not going to get my fingerprints on the actual product so And there’s our where our prime rgb location happens and it’ll alternate your colors and stuff there. You can do different lighting settings as long as your motherboard does support it, and so you do have to have an rgb uh mother, a motherboard that supports the rgb connection. There, and so it has a really nice sleek – look for it. Of course they have their little logo there um, but i really like the the look of it overall and the rgb is definitely going to be a nice touch all right and then here we have our hdmi in and hdmi out and set it on its package. Over there, okay and then here’s our included, hdmi cord, let’s see if they gave us enough length, am i right dude? Actually, i’m not gon na untwisty tie this. Let’S just see how many times it wraps wraps in a full circle about four times. So it’s probably about a three to four foot: hdmi cable! So this is that product key card uh that i mentioned before. But, as i said, powerdirector 16 is out. So it’s probably just going to be advertising that to you um and trying to sell you that to actually bring in anything or direct anything edit. Anything in 4k avermedia live gamer, 4k gc573 quick guide, oh in english, dutch, spanish, french, italian, portuguese, not sure, netherlands, polish, turkish, not sure sanskrit, kanji, all right, so lots of languages for you, probably chinese, japanese mandarin. Those are very common uh languages.
So there you go. Ultimately, it’s just a really nice capture card that goes inside one desktop pc to capture from another desktop pc or from a console so that you can show the ultimate 4k quality for your stream viewers when you’re on there streaming on twitch or wherever you’re streaming to Or to do really awesome professional benchmarks or to really just test your graphics card and know what it’s capable of while capturing out of another device.
