Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Grand Theft Auto V — 1080p High Detail — No GPU Required! — Ryzen 7 5700G w/ Radeon Graphics”.

Tech deals more details at the end of the video hello and welcome to tech deals. This is grand theft, auto 5 on the ryzen 7 5700 g apu, based on the zen 3 micro architecture and the radeon graphics, which are really vega 8. But well, that’s not what they’re calling them anymore, so radeon graphics for the win.

This is 1080p high detail. No, this game isn’t brand new, but this video also shows you what is possible when you don’t want to play. Cyberpunk 2077 assassin’s creed, valhalla or one of the other new aaa games, which require a big fancy, expensive graphics card in order to enjoy high detail, gaming, 1080p, 1440p or 4k. Otherwise, if you look in the upper left hand corner, you will notice that we are using all of our graphics card. That was painful. I missed the jump by just that much oh! Well! Hopefully, you guys enjoy my ridiculous gameplay.

While i give some commentary on what’s going on back to the upper left-hand corner, we have msi afterburners, real-time performance numbers, the integrated graphics are being fully utilized. We have no dedicated graphics card in this system, so, if you’d like to play games at 1080p, either low medium or high detail, you can certainly do so using the integrated graphics of the new zen3 based apus in fairness, while i’m using a 5700g here. The truth of the matter is a ryzen 5 5600g, which is 6 cores. 12 threads would be close to this. It’S about 10 slower on the integrated graphics versus the 5700 g.

So you would give up some performance in some frame rate. The cpu difference wouldn’t really make any difference. You don’t need eight cores in order to use integrated graphics on the kind of games. It’S going to run well with what the eight course does, for you is non-gaming tasks, productivity, multitasking, etc, and it gives you eight cores for the future when you do get a dedicated graphics card, because you can absolutely drop a dedicated graphics card at some point. In the future – and then basically it’s a slightly slower version of the ryzen 7 5800x.

Think of this as the 5700x they never released. Now i do have two gigabytes of vram quote. Let me put air quotes there. I have two gigabytes of vram set aside for the apu.

So technically we have 32 gigs of ram installed. 30 gigs is available to windows and then 2 gigabytes is set aside for the gpu. However, this is integrated graphics, so it’s using the ddr4 memory of the system. What that means important point here is that, if you overflow, that two gigabytes of vram, then you’re still in main system ram on a dedicated graphics card for those of you who don’t know on a dedicated graphics card, when you overflow, the vram on the card, which Is much faster than the main system ddr4 ram, then the textures and whatever else is in the game, has to overflow into the main system, ram, which is way slower and can lead to choppiness, slow performance, texture, pop-in and all kinds of problems. In this case, because we are using main system ram regardless, if you’re playing a game that really needs say two and a half gigs of vram, it really isn’t going to be any different. Even though you can’t allow a gate.

Two and a half the most the motherboard lets you allow kade is two gigs. It’S going to run the same. This also means that 16 gigabytes of ram might seem logical for an apu, but it presents a problem with 16 gigs of ram. You’Ve really only got 14 because two is set aside for the integrated graphics and then any overflow is going to use additional main system ram. Now, not here in this game, because of course, grand theft. Auto 5 came out in 2013, but in some of the other games i’ve tested, i have seen total main system ram, use, reach 25 gigs of ram due to a combination of the game.

A combination of the vram overflow and just newer games use more ram. Now was the performance amazing? No, because newer games are really kind of well. Let’S just say: i’ve got 35 games tested on this and some run better than others. What else is there to say? I could talk for the next 10 minutes, but i think you get the point.

I’M not even gon na provide a benchmark chart because it’s one game and one test, and you can certainly see the performance on the screen. It is very lovely. It does not, however, maintain this performance in all areas of the game and in all weather conditions. Let me show you one quick example: before we go during the daytime, with no weather conditions going on, we were getting about 50 frames per second, which, frankly, for integrated graphics, 1080p high detail is not bad. However, as you can see here with some dust and lighting effects and the rain we’re down just below 40 frames per second – and there are times it’s going to get closer to 30., if you look at the upper left hand corner the leftmost white number is the Real-Time frame rate, the middle white number, is the average frame rate since i started the benchmark, which was 20 minutes before what you’re watching right now and then the rightmost number is the rolling one percent low. So the 51 looks impressive, but that is over a period of time, still very playable, still very controllable, and that’s not going to end well. How is that truck still drivable? It must be. The new super duty edition must be a ford raptor in disguise.

In any case, thank you all so much for watching. Let me know what you think of this. I am going to be having a 35 game test coming out soon showing tons of different games, some of which run better than others cyberpunk looking at you, but i want to do a couple of these with a little bit longer look at a single game.

So you guys can see a good example of what is playable rather than what is not, because not everybody wants to play the latest and greatest game. In fact, many of you still haven’t played grand theft, auto 5 or games from this era which, while the console version launched in 2013, the pc version launched in 2015. So it’s old, but not that old. In any case, thanks so much for watching and i’ll see all of you next time. Ewin racing has a wide selection of chairs to fit all shapes and sizes of gamers, ranging from petite to cuddly.
