This is the division 2.. It is a aaa game from 2018 about three years ago from ubisoft and it is running on integrated graphics. This is 1080p low detail, it’s not as pretty as high detail, but i think you might agree. This is not awful.

Some games low detail are truly absolutely terrible. This is really actually good. All things considered ryzen 7 5700g, as you can see in the upper left hand corner. We have 32 gigabytes of ddr4 3600 cl 18, a very common standard ram speed these days and of course, we have two gigabytes of quote-unquote vram dedicated pulled from the main system ram, although it’s really just as much main system ram as the game needs.

It can certainly overflow in the main system ram if needed, i’m going to show you two different sections of this game this and then the final boss battle with a ton of enemies engaging watch the frame time graph in the upper left hand corner that’s the variable Bar rate with the milliseconds next to it, that’s not frame rate, that’s frame time, that’s how smooth the frames are delivered. Now there are a few bumps in there. It’S not perfect, but it’s very smooth. All things considered.

This was absolutely totally 100 playable. It was not always 60 frames per second in all situations, but it was close and it will certainly dip down a bit and use more of the cpu in open world areas and in the multiplayer dark zone. But i would argue that you could absolutely play this entire game using integrated graphics. If you really wanted to the main ram usage is just at 14 gigabytes, and i would caution everybody who thinks 16 gigs is enough that, because two gigs is pulled for the gpu, we really only have 14 gigs available, which means that we will be into swap And ram compression right now, if i only had 16 gigs installed, please upgrade to 32 gigs. If you want to play aaa games in 2021, it’s time, it’s been time, uh! It’S fine for overwatch! It’S fine for league of legends! It’S fine for cs go, but it’s not for the division. 2 and games like it now, while our integrated graphics is, of course, fully 100 utilized.

You would expect that it’s there’s very few situations where the integrated graphics won’t be fully utilized. Take a look at the cpu now it is not fully utilized because we are desperately short of graphics resources. Basically, the entire limitation to better performance is graphics here, and so our cpu is not running any faster than otherwise might because of it. If you look at the clock, speed of the cpu you’ll notice, it bounces between 45 and 4600 megahertz and down to 3700 megahertz, and that’s because frankly, the cpu just doesn’t have that much to do. This is where the beauty of the 5700g comes into play. You can buy this right now with no graphics card and play games cyberpunk, no, this game sure at some point in the future you can add a dedicated graphics card and then, basically, you have a slightly slower version of the ryzen 7 5800x.

Think of this as the 5700x that they never released, it’s about 10 slower, give or take than a 5800 x, but that’s not really going to matter. Unless you go to a really premium graphics card, i mean, if you install an rtx 3090 well, you should really have a ryzen 9 in here, but if you put a 3070 or 3060 ti in here or a 6700 xt, there’s absolutely no reason to have a Faster cpu, this is a good match for one of those mid-level cards and then you will get benefit out of having those eight cores. Those eight cores also come in handy for multitasking and non-gaming applications. If you are video, editing, running blender or doing other tests, which are very cpu heavy, this is an amazingly powerful cpu zen 3, with all of the benefits that come with zen 3. It really is a good option and it’s less expensive than the 5800x, at least as of the time of my recording this on the day, i recorded this. The 5800x was 400.

The 5700 g was 325. It is 75 dollars less and comes with integrated graphics and a slight cpu performance penalty. That’S not bad moving on to the final battle in this particular mission. There are more enemies here, there’s more explosions, there’s two bosses. Needless to say, there’s a lot more going on. So we skipped ahead to show you this, to give you an idea of what is possible, spoiler alert.

It runs just fine. Now i have hundreds of hours in the division, two not just running the built-in benchmark, and i would like to point out this game does have a built-in benchmark. However, it’s not really going to reflect the real world experience of playing this game. It does an okay job, it’s nice for graphics card comparisons.

If you want to see the performance difference of a 3060 versus a 30 70 versus the 3080, you know what the built-in benchmark does an admirable job of that it’s quick to run. You can do repeated tests to give you a really good percentage difference, but it doesn’t necessarily give you what you can expect in the real world. You have to make adjustments based upon a variety of factors showing you live gameplay like this lets. You see the real world performance and it’s really good. I do think it’s worth pointing out that the ryzen 5 5600 g, which is about 80 less expensive than the 5700 g, would provide very similar gaming experiences to the 5700g.

With a couple of caveats. First, the integrated graphics on the 5600g are about 10 slower than the integrated graphics on the 5700 g, which means you’ll take about 5 frames per second off, not the end of the world. Although we are, in fact at low detail, there’s nowhere to go with the detail settings besides lowering resolution, but it’s still perfectly playable and it would be perfectly playable on the 5600g.

It is also worth noting that, with two fewer cores, it’s not going to matter on games with integrated graphics. I really didn’t come across any situation where i found that eight cores was necessary, given how little graphics performance we really have. However, if six months from now, if a year from now, you want to put an rtx, 3070 or 4070 or if you want to put an rx, 6700, xt or 7700xt onto this particular build, then you’re gon na wish you had the eight cores, that’s where it’s Gon na start to make a difference when you have plenty of uh graphics, performance and you’re, not hubble by the integrated graphics. So you can absolutely save yourself 80 and go with the 5600g right now. It’S just that you’re getting a six core cpu for 240 dollars. In 2021, maybe early 2022, if you never add a graphics card, it probably doesn’t matter unless you need non-gaming performance. I do think. Ultimately, the 5700g is the deal 325., eight zen 3 cores decent enough, integrated, graphics and room to add better graphics in the future. If you want, if you’re going to put together a system, if you’re going to buy a b550 motherboard and get yourself 32 gigs of ram and a nice boot ssd, the 80 isn’t something you can spend in six months. And that may be something that i think a lot of people overlook is well i’ll, just upgrade right, but you can’t glue on two cores in the future. I mean this is not a pentium 4 being turned into a pentium d with glue or well a 1700 x with two ccx complexes. That’S neither here nor there you can’t glue the cords on.

You can’t spend the 80 bucks you’re upgrading. You have to replace the cpu and, let’s be honest: am4 is at the end of the line here. Am5 is coming and so the next time you’re ready to upgrade you’re, replacing your motherboard you’re, replacing the ram because it’ll be ddr5 and the cpu. So you basically you’re building a whole new system, go ahead and spend the 80 bucks get the two extra cores now it’ll buy you longevity it’ll buy you additional performance in the future and then you can wait till the second or third generation of am5.

Wait for them to work all the kinks out, wait for ddr5 prices to drop, and then you can upgrade yourself to a monster whatever at that point in the future.
