Robot Vacuum Wars - DEEBOT N8+ Vs iRobot i3

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Robot Vacuum Wars – DEEBOT N8+ Vs iRobot i3”.
Hey: what’s up everybody out there in tech land today, i’m coming to you guys from my living room. That’S right! I got my little dog lady, you guys don’t ever really see her. I try to bring her up here to the camera, for you guys, but her crying a lot, so she cries and whines. If i try to move her too much, but here’s my dog, ladybug and uh haven’t seen you guys in a little while just been healing up now, she’s giving me kisses, yeah she’s a beautiful puppy. Sorry to hurt, you didn’t mean to hurt you okay.

Now today’s video is something a little different. The holiday season is coming up, lots of people are going to be looking for gifts, and i got a chance to review um a robot vacuum cleaner and by the way, today’s video is brought to you and sponsored and paid for by ecovax, and today we’re going To be taking a look at their n8 plus d-bot now this is a pretty killer. Machine comes to market at about 600, but it has a ton of features so before you guys will figure out about the price. Once you watch the entire video and see all the different stuff that it can, do you probably go? Okay, you know. Maybe that is something pretty interesting now i didn’t want to just do one vacuum and that’s all so i was able to get my hands on another vacuum robot. So behind me you can see back here behind me.

I have two of them. I have the dbot n8 plus, and i also have one by irobot, the roomba i3 and in today’s video i’m going to compare the two of these products. Show you guys what the differences are and, at the end of the day, why. I think you guys will agree, though, that the n8 plus for the same price and features is actually a much better product, because the features are just so much better on the n8 than the i3 and then, since the price is exactly the same, why not get Something that does a lot more now with that said, let’s jump in and check out the eco box, d-bot n8, plus all right, my fellow youtubers and audience.

I know you guys, don’t really love sponsored videos, but i still ask that you do this guy, a kindness. Can you guys, please still like and share this video on social media? I’D really appreciate that, if you can do it on on over on on red book as well, that would be great, so i’d appreciate that with that said, though, let’s jump into the video now inside the box, you get everything you need to get up and going You get the basin charging pad two directional brushes the carpet base ramp the power cord and the mop accessories and cleaning pads. There are two disposable garbage bags, as well as the instruction manual and warranty information, which is seriously everything you need to get up and going other than your cell phone. If you want to use the app first, let’s compare specs between the roomba i3 and the dbot n8 plus and see how they look on paper. Now. Both products obviously will vacuum your floors and both have removable trash bags.

But after that, beyond looking similar, there are many differences in the two products. The i3 is a decent product. Don’T get me wrong, but its feature set and build quality is just not that of the deebot n8 plus, and the n8 plus can also not only vacuum. Your home, it can also mop your floors, something the i3 simply cannot do.

Looking at the bottom of the vacuums, you can see that the i3 only has a single directional brush for guidance, and the n8 plus has two. This equates to better mapping and for better navigating its way around your home. The i3 also uses dated gyro technology, but the n8 plus uses true mapping navigation, which is a dtof laser-based mapping, technology with faster mapping, speed higher coverage area and more precise and accurate navigation. Direct time of flight tech is the best tech for robot vacuum cleaners available.

Today, the detection distance is increased by 50 percent over lds navigation products like the i3 as well now battery life, something which is very very important, is much lower on the i3 than it is on the n8 plus the n8 plus has 3200 milliamp hours, while the I3 is only rated at 1800 milliamp hours, which means that the n8 has almost double the work time of the roomba i3 detection of small objects is increased by four times that of lds based products as well. The na plus will pick up large items as well as small and will even pick up animal hair. Now the probe on the n8 plus is completely enclosed to protect and ensure accuracy as well as give it a longer life span. Although the i3 is ok for smaller homes, for larger homes, with multiple floors and rooms, the n8 plus feature set is geared towards this. It’S made for larger homes that need a better and more accurate cleaning map system to accomplish their cleaning needs up to two maps. Can also be saved and stored with the n8 plus as well.

The n8 plus can have multiple maps for multiple floors, and the i3 can only do a single map for a single floor. The i3 cannot change the options for different rooms either. Only one setting is available, obviously the more suction power any vacuum has the better. It will pick things up and the i3 has a suction power of 1800 pa, while the n8 plus has a 2300 pa rating and will pick up even large size objects without an issue. The n8 plus can also customize suction power, and, when going from hardwood floors to carpet it automatically increases the suction power for deeper cleaning. Now mopping floors is something the i3 simply cannot do and with the osmo mopping system in the n8 plus, it’s pretty easy. Actually, unlike the messy drip systems, other mopping robots use, the osmo uses a micro pump to avoid leaks and over wetting of your floors, and there are three levels of water flow available depending on your need. You can also use either the disposable pads or the washer safe, reusable pad for mopping. Your floors, set up on the n8 plus is very simple. Now the first thing you’re going to want to do is you’re going to want to turn the robot vac onto its back and put on the two guide brushes after you put on the two guide brushes, you find a place to put your base.

You plug in your base and then all you do is just set the robot onto the base and then wait a few hours and after that it will be fully charged and ready to use. Now you can use this on the auto feature, but if you want to get all the features you’re going to need to download the home app – and this can be found for both android phones or for apple phones, so it doesn’t matter whether you have an android Phone or an ios phone you can find the app on one of their stores and be good to go in the app. This is where you can customize all of your settings. There are four levels of suction power and three levels of water flow.

Now, once you get your maps all set up, the n8 plus will automatically detect and choose the right map before starting the cleaning process, and if you want to use the auto clean process, all you do is hit auto and it’ll. Just do everything automatically. It will vacuum whatever area of the floor. You are on even your rooms and it can even go from different surfaces such as hardwood floors and carpet and even tile without issue.

You can also set up the n8 plus to mop your floors and vacuum your floors. All at the same time, once you do the setup in the app as you guys can see, the n8 plus was able to navigate itself through my cluttered house. Without issues even around various lighting stands to heavy large cords. It went over them or around them.

I mean i have two dogs and tons of dog hair everywhere, and the n8 plus picked it up without issue. So it does work well, and my house also has multiple different floor types and when i just use the auto cleaning out of the box after downloading the app it vacuumed my entire house, without issues for detailed cleaning, creating maps and combining vacuum and mopping options. All in one, you just need to do all of that setup via the app and for the house or apartment that you’re living in one thing, i really do like about the n8 plus is that as soon as the robot vacuum cleaner goes back to the base, The base automatically sucks all of the dirt and junk out of the robot vac, and you only have to change the bags once a month. So that’s pretty doggone cool, especially if you’re lazy, okay, so, like i said at the very beginning of the video, the n8 plus and the irobot roomba i3, both come to market at right around 599.

We will have actually, though, good news for you guys for black friday. I will have a discount code and you guys will love the price. That’S given on that day for the n8 plus it’ll bring the price even way lower and make it more affordable. But in this article just wanted to show you guys how two, similarly priced robot vacs could be kind of in a way lots of different features.

So i would say vastly different, but i mean i don’t think they’re vastly different, but there are a lot of differences between the two first of all, as far as the suction power goes 2300 versus 1800. The battery life 3200 versus 1800 seems like the guys over at uh over at the roomba. They like that 1800 number. It’S both the power of the suction and the battery life of the of the little robot itself. So right there you get double. You know the vacuum time or the mopping time and and there’s another thing, that’s right off the bat you cannot mop at all with the i3.

It doesn’t mop your floor whatsoever with the n8 plus you can set it up to both mop vacuum into all your floors. Once you get into the app and start using the app, you can actually set it up to do both your mopping and your. I mean basically everything or do your mopping you’re sweeping you’re cleaning everything all in one shot. Like i said when i took it out of the box, i just hit the auto button and when i hit the auto button, just automatically went around my house and vacuumed. The entire house, i didn’t, really need any mopping done, but if you want to use the mopping feature, all you do is set it up, like i showed you guys just attach the mopping features put the water in you know set up.

However, you want it to be, and go it’ll probably take a little experimentation for anybody to get everything perfectly right with the mopping, because i mean you’ve never mopped your floor with this before so you will, you know, have to probably do a little bit of trial And error you know before just going out of the gate, because you don’t want to be too wet, but other than that, once you set it all up, everything is completely automated. Now another thing is with the i3: you don’t get a chance to store a bunch of different maps. You can set up maps for different floors. This is one thing, that’s also really cool about the n8 plus i mean once you set up everything and you have your map stored. You can store two maps.

You can actually whatever floor, you put the vacuum on. It will automatically detect what floor you’re on and then it’ll vacuum that entire floor and mop whatever you need in there. So if you want your second floor to be vacuumed, your bathroom’s mopped, all you have to do is go run the setup program and everything set it up and then you’re good to go now. Obviously i mean the i3 cannot climb stairs.

It’S not a robot with actual legs and fist and stuff – it’s not like that, so it doesn’t have legs and hands. So it can’t. You know unless you somehow build a custom ramp for your vacuum, to go up.

You’Ll have to take the vacuum by hand to set it up, so i mean not to set it up but to get it going, but for your bottom floor you can actually set up times where you can tell it how many times you want it to vacuum. What’S the frequency, so you can set it up to do once a week. You can set it up to do twice a week.

You, however, you want to do it now. I would say this product is probably perfect for those people who do not have a huge, huge family. I mean if you’ve got a huge family. You’Ve probably got you know six kids tramping in dirt and doing all kinds of crazy stuff. You you know may want to just do it manually because it’s going to be a lot more stuff. But if you’re, not tracking a lot of stuff into your house and you’ve got just a couple of pets and you’re a normal person who’s a normal life, this thing can be a time saver and just save you a lot of hassle um. I live in a totally cluttered place, like my house is totally cluttered up. I’Ve got lights everywhere.

I do reset up completely in my living room. Just to do this video, and once i do the vacuum. Cleaner is bopping over everything going around all the cords going around all the lights, so it clutter doesn’t really matter, but i would say if it was a really you know like heavy-duty dirt uh. You know where you’re getting like almost industrial level dirt from your family.

You may want to do something else, but for a standard home and somebody who has a very large home who just wants their home to be automatically cleaned. They want something that works. This works i tested it out. Everything is great. The i3 is the comparable. You know one on the market.

There are a bunch of lower level models that are out there. They do not do quite the same thing. Obviously i mean the ecovac deebot n8 plus is like one of the top of the line, ones that you can get on. The market, it has all those great features, the osmo mopping system. All of you know the direct laser you know the stuff for for, for, managing and directing the products where it goes all that stuff just makes a big difference in the long run to how compatible and how valuable it will be for you, as well as how Well, it’s going to work for you, so if you want something, that’s going to be over the top working and just has a lot of features, then i’ll have links down below where you guys can check this out. I will also have the links like i said to the black friday pricing, so you guys can get in on that deal.

So thanks for watching techa, tomorrow, peace out, we’ll see you guys back from the video channel for more videos here on tech. .
