Microsoft Outlook Automatic Email Filing

Microsoft Outlook Automatic Email Filing

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Microsoft Outlook Automatic Email Filing”.
In this tutorial, I’m gon na share with you a Microsoft Outlook tip that’s gon na save you a lot of time and trouble, and that is automatic filing. So you can see here in my Outlook account that I keep getting these awesome emails from coca-cola from eBay. From Disney – and I do appreciate getting these emails, but there are just so many of them. What I’d like it to do is automatically file these away so that I can read them on my own time when I’m ready to read them, and this is actually pretty easy to do. And if you look here to the left, you can see that I have several folders at the left and I have one named eBay. But I’d like to set up a couple of more so I’m gon na right click on the word inbox and I’ll select, new folder and I’ll call this one Disney and then I can just tap enter on the keyboard. Now I’ve got a new folder called Disney.

Now I can do that again, right click and select new folder, but instead, this time, I’d like you to see that there’s a keyboard shortcut that does the same thing that creates a new blank folder. All you have to do is hold ctrl and shift and then tap e on the keyboard, and it opens up a window to help you create a new folder, so this is gon na be Coca Cola. I click. Ok and now I’ve got a Coca Cola. Folder excellent, so let’s look now at how to automatically file any email that comes from eBay into the right folder and any emails that come from Disney and any that come from coca-cola. So I’m gon na click to select the eBay, email and then I’ll right click on it here and select rules, and you see there’s several options that come up and I’m just gon na pick the top one always move messages from eBay. So any message that comes from eBay: where will it go? It will go down here in the eBay folder. So I select it. Click, OK and it filed away all of my eBay emails, but it will also continue to file away future emails from eBay. Now, let’s do the same thing with Disney right click on it.

Rules always move messages from Disney to my Disney folder click. Ok and the same with coca-cola rules always move messages from coca-cola to the coca-cola. Folder click, ok, and so that clears out my outlook inbox and it’s gon na really clean it up in the future. It’S gon na save me a lot of time and effort sifting through emails that aren’t quite spam. I like these emails. I do get good information from them, but I don’t want them cluttering up my inbox so now, let’s double check to make sure that they really did get filed away in the right places.
