Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “iPhone 13 Apple Event”.
Uh, so it’s september already, which in itself is a bit mind-blowing, but that also means we are days away from apple’s annual iphone event and apple themselves actually leaked. The production of this iphone event is already underway and, as we sort of gear up for what they’re going to announce, i wanted to recap all the rumors for the iphone 13 for the apple watch series 7, the whole ipad lion and what’s next for airpods three. So a bunch of new things are coming this month, but obviously the biggest ones, the the most hyped machines uh – will be the iphone 13. It’S been some speculation.
It was going to be the iphone 12s, but we’re starting to see iphone 13 naming start to leak out on packaging, so bad luck, darned, iphone 13 is coming so now that we are this close, we can, i think, with a lot of confidence. Tell you what the phone is going to be so we’ll be seeing four iphone models similar to sort of last year’s september event. You can look forward to iphone 13 iphone 13 pro iphone 13 pro max and pour one out for the final year of the iphone 13 mini.
But it will be here so not giant visible changes, but a lot of changes, sort of under the say under the aluminum or under the metal uh one of the largest will be in the camera modules on the new iphone 13.. So the new module size will allow for center shift technology across the entire lineup of iphones, which obviously improve stabilization and low light performance and that’ll be on all the iphones, not just the pros. The pro models, though, will get an upgraded ultra wide camera with a six element lens improved, f, 1.8 aperture.
It’S going to let more light in than the current f 2.4 aperture lens, allowing for generally better low light performance, so the iphone 13 pros. So the regular one and the pro max will also include upgraded ultra wide cameras with autofocus. Like i said, design is going to be pretty similar to last year’s iphone 12 with a few differences, so 13 will get slightly chunkier.
Hopefully, that’s going to lead to bigger battery because remember the iphone 12 actually had a smaller battery million powers wise than what came before it. Despite throwing 5g and a bunch of other stuff in there. So hopefully, the new modem that they’re using the processor should generally make for better battery performance, plus extra milliamp hours and obviously from a processor standpoint. We had the a14 last year.
I’M not expecting an m name. Um should have the a15, but don’t be disappointed. The m name is really just an a series processor and it should do all the things apple should expect. I guarantee you, they will say this the fastest iphone ever because, of course it is.
It is the absolute newest iphone, but it should be a beast. Like all the processors generally tend to be uh, other smaller updates are on the magsafe side. So we saw maxwell make a comeback last year, but the magnets inside were, i think, calling them weak would be a fair statement even like the most hardcore apple. Fanboys would admit to. We should see stronger magnets uh this time around on the iphone 13, so things are supposed to stick to the back.
Actually stick to the back uh. I don’t think we’re gon na see data transfer this year via magsafe. I think it’s probably one more year away when that comes it’ll, bring us one step closer to a portless iphone, which i do not think we will have uh this year and unfortunately, we’re also not gon na have usb type-c lightning is gon na stick around until That port goes away so, like the notch has been uh like a hallmark of of iphone since the iphone 10, and despite what you may have seen on ted lasso, the notch is not going away. It has overtake. It’S welcome.
It’S gon na get a little bit a little bit smaller. Personally, i’m hoping that means we finally get a real battery percentage in the upper right hand corner back again instead of having to swipe down, which i find horribly annoying, but i’m not asking like too much. Maybe let me see my battery percentage and give me like a calculator app on the ipad.
I’D probably be pretty happy, and this one i’m gon na, set up extra tall for this one, because i’ve been on this hill for a while. Ladies and gentlemen, pro motion display on the iphone 13 pro models and i’m not going to sit here and tell you that they should be on all iphone 13 models because obviously they should but high refresh rate 120 hertz. Finally, coming to the iphone – i listen, i’ve been saying it, they need it.
Um iphone, android devices have had this for years now, um and i’m sure apple will make. It seem amazing and we’re only a couple weeks away from every apple fan. Saying hi, refresh rates are the greatest things ever.
I know how you lived without it. It’S awesome, it looks great, makes things look smoother and i think it’s bringing apple up to parity, at least with some of the best features of android. And if you’re wondering current iphones run at 60 hertz we’re hearing, the promotion will be 120 hertz.
So by my math, that’s double the hertz uh apple’s, also going to be using uh wtpo display tech from the apple watch make the screen, because basically, let’s screen adjust refresh rate dynamically, which is pretty awesome for battery life. Uh we’re also hearing. We may also get an always-on display this year doing a lot of this, but i’m i’m excited for always on display and i feel like i’m like kermit the frog waving my hands here, um, but i’m excited for it.
I think it’s something that apple really needed. I wish it was coming to all iphone 13s, but something they’re holding out for future years. Alright, so like airpods they’re ubiquitous at this point, uh, the og airpods were definitely due for a redesign and if you’ve had the original one since launch your battery life is probably between like nine minutes and maybe like an hour and they’re known to not switch between Devices all that well, especially for kind of 2021 standards. This year, though overhaul time so new design. So imagine the current airpods pro without the silicon tips and there you go.
There’S your new airpods 3 design, a new h1 chip should give us extended range and faster. Switching between devices, obviously better battery life with 50, more talk time and start to extrapolate that to like music listening time. But i’m going to assume there’ll be a boost there as well. And if you like, the touch controls on the airpods pro.
Those look to be coming to airpods 3, so less tappies, more more squeezies. Also, and this one i find extra annoying optional wireless charging case um will will launch. I think that’s! I personally think that just be the standard, but you’ll have the option to buy another case to go with your new air pods uh that apple’s happy to sell you another apple design, that’s getting a bit long in the tooth is going to get a makeover for 2021., ladies and gentlemen, meet the redesigned ipad mini, so we’re going to see an 8.3 inch display with the same size bezels all around similar.
We have with the ipad pro essentially think, like ipad pro ipad air design, just smaller no home button. This time around, with touch id being moved to the power button similar to the air, usb type c port will be on this year’s mini model uh, which is really nice and apples, the more they embrace usb type c. The more i get enraged that things are still using lightning, but at least it’s not this ipad mini uh from processor standpoint.
Uh, it’s gon na get a beast. A15 chip is remembered to be on board, so obviously you can expect a15 type things like better performance. Better battery life and this little tablet should absolutely fly. It should also come in some new colors, including some version of space gray, which apple changes that looks like all the time silver rose, gold, green and blue mini led is like a small, remote possibility. I wouldn’t bank on it would be cool to have that for the mini, but that tech probably seems more like the next uh version, so this year really appears to be redesign. Everything uh apple watch.
Series 7 is going square if you’re holding out for round you’re gon na have to wait a little while longer gon na resemble the current sign language of the iphone and the ipad pro lineup, which is awesome. It’S also get a little bit bigger, seeing a slightly larger display uh in this year’s apple watch and supposedly there’s a new lamination technique going on. That brings the display close to the front cover. Also sizes are going to be one millimeter, bigger, so 41 millimeters and 45 millimeters versus the 40 and 44 we currently have. But watch bands should still work with all previous models, so no issues there other things you can expect. Aside from that new design, which i personally really like the look of, i think it looks nice.
This design has kind of gotten a bit long in the tooth, but things you could expect longer battery life, which is always good, maybe a day and a half two days. New health features, which i think has really been a hallmark of the apple watch. Even things like a blood glucose sensor, which obviously be awesome for monitoring blood sugar levels, rumors are a mix of that and certainly if it did come, it wouldn’t be medical grade similar to the blood option of what we have. But if your blood sugar, something you’re monitoring all the time, it’s sort of another metric that you could allegedly use.
One thing that we almost saw to the apple watch series 6 was a way for the apple watch to do some predictive health monitoring to let you know if it thought you were going to have a panic attack if it was detecting sort of changes in your Physiology it could let you know that so that may be coming with the apple watch series 8 there’s been rumors that somehow it’s going to do blood pressure. I don’t know how it could manage that without like inflating on the band. So i would not hold your breath for that uh if you’ve been waiting for a new design um. This looks to be your upgrade uh.
That’S the good news, bad news, and actually this came out like right before i sat down to film uh. It does appear that the apple watch series 7 is going to be delayed due to quality control concerns. We don’t know how, like that’s going to be perhaps it’ll be later on in september or october, but at least it’ll be out this year. I feel confident, saying it’ll be out sometime this year, but probably not as early as we’re used to seeing it. So that’s a lot of stuff coming probably this month with the exception, it appears to be of the apple watch series. 7.. I’M really excited about the apple watch, uh. In all honesty, i’m hoping they bring back the ceramic. I always loved the way that looked, but a new design of the apple watch and a new size could open up sort of new complications and new things that the watch can do new health features and refine. Those health features, i think, are always giant improvements for apple iphone 13. I’M excited to see promotion. I’M excited to have better antennas. I don’t think we’re gon na have the satellite communications that have been sort of rumored uh in here as well.
Perhaps if it is it’s just for emergency situations, but better cameras, maybe some new colors and it’s going to be more of an s er than anything else, but new iphones should generally make everybody pretty happy. So that’s coming soon, not giant spoilers. You probably knew all of this already, but what are you guys excited about and as these devices come out of course, we’ll have reviews coming up on all of them? .
