Govee M1: the best LED strip light

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Govee M1: the best LED strip light”.
Thanks to Gobi for sponsoring this video, so it seems like every like three days: uh we get a product that is smart. Connect to Wi-Fi controlled by voice gets updated every three and a half to six minutes. These products are everywhere, no joke. I have a frying pan that occasionally needs software updates. It has gotten ridiculous, but where most of all, this crazy smart thing started was with lighting being able to control the lights in your home. The way you want it was always a crazy novel idea that Innovation hasn’t stopped and govi’s actually one of the leaders in that space. Right now I made a little video talking about their products in the past, making really high quality, affordable lights on the back of TVs. You guys dug that video, so we are back with the new LED strip, light M1 with their four in one RGB, IC plus technology, which I promise I’ll talk about more in just a second, but before we get into the coming dance party. I do want to thank you guys for your years of support for supporting me on social on the videos so want to give you a chance to win 500 doesn’t matter where in the earth you live, you just have to live on Earth. Let me know in the comments what you do with your LED light strip and one but leave your social handle written there.

So I can contact you if you win runner for 10 days, all the information that will be in the description. So a lot of things are being called M1 nowadays. The LED light strip M1 is exactly what it sounds like it’s a strip of LEDs that you attach in your living room, bedroom Game Room, whatever weird dungeon room you might have in your house uh and it uses RGB lights to illuminate, said room uh. Nothing! Super new with that, but what Govi is doing differently is upping the quality of the light strips themselves and when you see it in person, it makes a huge difference. We’Re talking difference between regular, LED versus OLED on TVs.

The difference is that drastic and you think lights are lights, colors are colors and you might think TVs are TVs until you see the technology in front of you, when you see what goofy is doing, you can appreciate the quality. That’S there all right. So, first of all, when you buy the M1 uh is long. It comes in five meters, so you can route this a ton of different ways without needing to buy multiple strips inside of these rubbery type. Strips uh is what Govi is calling their rgbic plus technology. This is using a four in one chip with additional white color to visually control, the colors of each LED, so that sounds a little complicated um, but it’s called independent control. Hence the IC in the RGB IC, it’s gon na, allow you to show over 16 million colors.

You can change the color depending on the section of the strip. So one thing I was worried about with the sections was going from one color to next. Next to each other intersection, it was going to look like harsh just to suddenly change, but Kobe’s done is actually pretty neat.

They will kind of gradient it out as it slowly kind of Fades down and then back up it’s a next color. So it makes it not only a really cool effect, but it looks smooth instead of sort of almost like drastic light Cuts, so this technology also allows for higher lumens, so overall will be brighter than other strips on the market. Like I said you can change the colors throughout the strip. There actually are 10 independent control chips throughout the strip. Once you have 50 sections that you can adjust independently and with this you have over 64 scene modes, uh like Fades, twinkles flows, uh and obviously 61. Other options and all of this, like most smart things, I have control through an app it’s the appropriately named Govi app.

This is where you can use some of the sort of fun built-in features, a couple of interesting ones that you may actually want to try. Uh. There’S music mode: this is actually a mic built into the strip to detect music. When you turn on music mode, the strip is going to bump to the beat, which is like a fun and short burst. I’M not saying it all the time when I’m watching a TV show or a movie you’re having your friends over it’s a cool party trick, and it’s not just like on or off depending on the beat the lights. There are different modes.

That’Ll fade it in fade. It out uh, it’s it’s pretty Dynamic. I think in certain situations it’s also pretty cool in more useful in more situations. Uh is dream View mode which is really cool that connects to other govio devices and syncs with them.

So I don’t know if you guys saw the video we did with govi’s LED TV strip. You can extend that effect to the M1 as well and just check it out just as a refresher. Here’S what it looks like on the TV it looks dope now. Imagine that effect in your entire room, your entire house heck your entire neighborhood. If you’re feeling giving there are other light strips on the market that do very similar things.

Setting up govi’s was really easy. It’S done inside of the app uh and no Hub is needed, which is a really awesome thing to have, and since the LED lights are and one is a Gobi product, I was built with Smart Control in mind as well. So you can adjust everything from the app and then other smart stuff. You can use it with Alexa or Google assistant. So it’s a lot of Jibber jabbering about some lights.

Let me show you some lights and I may or may not try to dance all right. So this record looking thing is actually the rollout disc for the LED strip light and one I want to show you how it works. So obviously we set it up in kind of a living room situation. It looks awesome, but I think a lot of people when they think of LED lights thing TV, that’s the first place that I really thought to put it. Gobi actually makes a set of LED lights just for the TV, and we already had those already set up here and they look awesome but again, because Govi will talk to go V. We can set these up elsewhere and have them all work together.

So had a couple thoughts, I was thinking, it’d be really cool for a set to have them all the way up top so for filming down below. We can control the lighting. That was my initial idea and then JD who’s behind the camera. Looked at me like yo dummy, you want to see what wires, so we’re not going to do that.

So I think what we could do is actually put these on the top of the baseboard here, and we do a lot of shooting on this stand, whether we’re filming TVs or things that are on the TVs. I thought that could add a kind of really cool Dynamic touch to it, because these are so easy to set up. It takes like two seconds to actually from unroll to how these things actually working all right.

So we got everything all set up here, like literally three minutes later uh, very simple: to set up the app equally simple uh but crazy, powerful. So a bunch of different modes, you can do you can control a bunch of effects. The music Mode’s cool, like I said it’s got microphones built in, but look at it just to be talking, and if I was to like snap and matches right along with it uh it’s pretty cool, you can change color as well like we talked about, and then You could adjust the gradient here.

However, you want, I mean just a ton of different stuff. You can do you can pick different scenes. So let’s go Candlelight, get a bit romantic up in here, that’s cool.

We also have these other lights. It’S up behind the TV and the lights next to the monitor, so, let’s pair all that together, so it’s incredibly easy go through here, so just push plus and we got the TV lights there. We got the dream view, one pro and the lights, the check mark and that’s it and just a quick setup tip if you want to use dream view, start with M1 first and then add everything else from there all right, so they’re all set up and working As you can see, it’s responded to my voice, but let’s play some non-licensed music and show you how it all works together.

So this is an idea that you’ve seen before you know what RGB lights look like. You know how you’re going to use them. What Govi adds the equation is really high quality product lights that look really good look premium, customizability a word no Hub at an incredibly affordable price and much cheaper than some of the biggest names in the market. So that sounds like your jam.
