Hello, i’m make kinetic sculptures, uh out of bicycles and other parts. My name is peter, william wagner uh. I brought a what i call a whimsical which is a eccentric wheeled bicycle and william. My middle name. Whimsical, eccentric axle is how it makes it go.
So that is a whimsical drive propulsion system and it’s a kinetic sculpture that i’ve used up in the arcade at the ferndale kinetic sculpture, race for the last six years morning, lovely day for a bounce howdy folks, uh i’ve come in first place for speed, not my First year, i’ve broken in half and other races, uh, it’s glorious, whether you’re in the front or if you’re, at the back or anywhere in between uh the start of the race. Is we go around the town square of arcata for california three times over a couple? Bridges to the samoa dunes in the town of manila, about a half a mile of rough dunes, the machines have two on the next day, enter humboldt bay and go about a mile. Hopefully, downwind and even a veteran machine with a little bit of errant tuning can lose their navigational stability and in a heartbeat on film in front of thousands of people which is glorious and cold, and i did that my first year on this one i capsized in The middle of the place, i have flotation in the as my wheels and i have outriggers which float it and i row it with ores and in my first year my pontoons were not big enough to stay above the water.
