Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Taylor Dawson – First Build and GE”.
All right, this is caleb craft with make and we’re here at makercon learning about all kinds of amazing business, stuff and – and things like that, and i’m here with taylor taylor, tell us real quick who are you and who are you with my name’s taylor dawson and I’M with a company called first build it’s a wholly owned subsidiary of ge appliances and what we’re doing and what we’re about is launching a new model for innovation. Basically, so we’re opening up to innovating with a group of people who are not ge employees, people who are part of this maker community and we’re doing it by launching a website where everyone can respond to challenges, can submit their ideas and create things and create projects. And work together with other people, but we’re also launching a maker space where people will be able to come in free of charge, join our community and participate in building things. So, what’s that website, the website is firstbuild.com firstbuild.com, okay and it will be open on thursday may 15th. Okay and where’s the makerspace located maker space would be in louisville kentucky.
We put it there because that’s where headquarters are okay, we’ve got a lot of engaged engineers who know a lot about building appliances, but we want to kind of bring in a community of people and get our engineers working with people who are passionate about products that Are outside of our company and building things together and ultimately making things a small batch unit, batches putting them in the marketplace and trying to sell them to find out where the real, the gems are? Okay? Well, that’s very exciting! That’S very exciting! Thank you very much. Yeah and we look forward to actually checking out this makerspace and the website as well. .
