Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “LED Light Sculptures”.
My name is kristen ford and i am from sacramento uh. The name of my project is led light sculptures and what i do is i create metal sculptures using recycled metals, all kinds aluminum steel. I have silk screen frames that i’ve repurposed. I have plow discs that i’ve repurposed, you know the tractor plows and i plasma cut them.
Uh weld them all together and then add the lighting and i’m always trying to use the lighting effects so that it casts shadows on the walls or the floor or the ceiling and um. Also, i um grind a lot of patterns into the metal. So then, it does interesting kind of holographic effects with the lights. What i love about maker spare is all of the you know: conglomeration of science, technology, art and um all the innovation that’s going on, i’m probably more focused and interested in the art pieces and the installation and, of course, the lighting pieces as well. But i just love that it’s it’s so many people coming together with so many creative ideas that they can take out into the world and have other people enjoy or put to functional use. .
