DIY Hacks and How Tos Brick Punching Gauntlets

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “DIY Hacks and How Tos Brick Punching Gauntlets”.
Have you ever wished that you could punch through a brick wall? Well, you probably can all you need is a pair of heavy-duty gauntlets. These add weight and focus all the force to a narrow point. It’S like having a sledgehammer on the end of your arm. First, I’d like to say thanks to Nighthawk and light who inspired this project, I saw his video and had a punch through concrete, and I just had to build my own version of the project. The first thing that you need to do is cut several sections of 2×4 lumber. You need one piece: that’s six and a half inches long, two pieces that are five inches long and one piece that’s about 11 inches long.

Next, we need to drill holes in the board so that they can be bolted together. The exact spacing of the holes isn’t critical, but I’ve included a list of dimensions on the project page that you can use for reference once the holes are drilled, you’re, ready to begin assembling. The gauntlet first use a pair of seven inch, long bolts to attach the five-inch boards to the sides of the 11 inch board next position: the six and a half inch board in front of the two side boards and below the top board after clamping this board. In place, drill a pilot hole in each corner then secure it in place with four wood screws.

I also used two additional screws to attach the front board to the top board, now you’re ready to attach the striking surface. In this case, I’m using a ten inch, strap hinge, insert a pair of 3/8 inch bolts through the bottom of the 11. Inch board then slide on one side of the strap hinge.

I added washers to both bolts until the two hinge plates would be parallel when they’re closed, then I tightened a nut onto each bolt to help avoid bruising and scratching my arm. I glued a small foam pad to the inside of the gauntlet. Now we need to attach a handle for this.

I inserted a half inch bolt through the two side boards and screwed a nut on to the end. If you’d like a wider handle, you can put a piece of half-inch PVC pipe around the bolt. The last part that we need to add is an arm strap for this.

I used an old belt first wrap the belt loosely around your arm. Make a new hole for the latch at this location then cut off the unused lengths of belt to attach the belt to the board. I used another pair of wood screws. Now your gauntlet is complete and you’re ready to try it out. You’Ll be really surprised at how easily you can punch through solid brick. Well, thanks for watching and check back next week for more DIY hacks and how to’s, oh great, that’s just a tougher brick! .
