Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “DIY Soda Fountain”.
Has this ever happened to you, you’re thirsty, but you’re, just too lazy to walk over to the refrigerator to get a drink? Well, here’s the solution, build your own personal, soda fountain that will refill your drink from across the room. To build this project. You’Ll need a mini refrigerator, a small air pump airline tubing, an ac power switch and a soda bottle. Here’S how the system works.
The power switch turns on the air pump, this pressurizes the soda bottle and pushes the soda out through a tube that dispenses it into your glass to keep the soda cold. You can leave the bottle inside the refrigerator and run the tubes through the wall of the refrigerator. This gives you a basic, soda fountain.
First, we need to connect the tubes to the soda bottle, find a drill bit. That’S the same size as the tubing, then drill. Two holes in the center of the soda bottle cap then fit the tubes through the cap. You want one tube to stop just inside the cap.
The other should reach all the way to the bottom of the soda bottle. Next, you need to decide how you’re going to route the hoses into and out of the refrigerator. You could just run them through the door, but this leaves a large gap on the sides that can let the cold air out a better option is to cut a small slit in the gasket behind the magnetic strip. This helps to maintain a better seal or, if you’re brave, you can drill holes through the side of the refrigerator.
If you do this, you want to be absolutely certain that you don’t drill anywhere near an electrical wire or a refrigeration coil. I drilled two holes through the back shelf next to the drip pan. Now you can feed the hoses through the side of the refrigerator. Take the tube that’s submerged in soda and route that to the place where you want your drink to be dispensed then take the other tube and connect it to the air pump. Lastly, plug the air pump into the power switch and plug that into a nearby outlet. The last thing that you need to do is set up the output hose that it can refill your drink. This can be as simple as mounting the tube to the wall, or you can set up custom brackets and nozzles. It’S up to you.
Now all you have to do is press one button to refill your drink. You can run the tubes as far from the refrigerator as you want, but the strength of the pump may limit how high it can go. Well, that’s how to make a simple soda fountain thanks for watching and check back next week for more diy hacks and how to’s .
