Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Slice: Raspberry Pi Media Player”.
Hi i’m mo from the five ninjas and the slice team, and i’m here at megaphone new york with scythe and as you can see, it’s all laid out here. We’Ve got a new board to show off the three usb ports. Essentially, slice is a open source media player with local storage based on the raspberry pi compute module. It’S got four gigabytes of samsung flash to store your library and it’s got 25 individually, addressable 24-bit color, leds, um. Here’S the board! You can see the compute module here.
There’S the samsung flash here we’ve got great things like real-time clock. We’Ve got great things like an enhanced 24-bit 192 kilohertz uh audio out, and this is a cirrus uh. Chipset we’ve got optical and analog output. We’Ve got ethernet usb. We’Ve got a micro usb here which will actually allow you to link up to your mac or your pc, and it will show it as an external hard drive. So you can just drop your media onto it and then we’ve got hdmi and also this will push out gpio information from the pi as well.
This micro here underneath you’ve got local storage. We’Re running up to two terabyte hard drives in here. They’Ve got to be below 9.5 mil thickness, but essentially that is the only requirement and you can put any sort of drive energy that you want. We’Ve got five days left on the kickstarter, so if you want to get your pledges in now would be a great time um.
You can visit us just google, you know, slice, kick start slice, media player, kickstarter or you can go to fiveninjus.com and you can email me at mo at fiveninjas.com as well. If you want more information, you .
