Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Empowering DJs with Intel Edison”.
Hey i’m david with make and we’re here with dj, hubert and yoga frog, hey guys, what’s up, what’s up, what’s up, what’s up how’s it going it’s great, so you guys are new to the fair and i want to get your uh get your impressions of it. What do you think i i think it’s uh out of control, it’s probably the most awesomest fair in the world for sure yeah, it’s like in our own backyard and i’ve never been. I’M like what what have we been missing. Exactly what we’ve been saying all the past few days right, that’s right! So where are you guys from tell us right here, san mateo? I went to school here. He grew up in san francisco, so this is our backyard right now so and uh for those people who are watching who don’t know, tell us a little bit about yourselves we’re a dj company. We make dj products for uh dj’s and we specialize in uh scratch musicians and djs that use the turntable as a musical instrument. So uh so tell me about what you guys are doing with the intel edison.
Well, we want to bring the age of a laptopless dj to the to the whole equation of our. You know our instrument, which is a turntable. This way we can embed the computing of intel inside every dj instrument and have it plug and play and just as we stand alone and turn on right right when you play it, just like all the kids that are here at the fair, do it yeah. So, like back in the day, djs would carry a bunch of crates and records nowadays, djs just have their computer and then with the intel chip. You don’t need your computer wow go to the club. Put your usb in and get busy.
That’S pretty. Liberating! So tell me guys: how did you get into the whole djc in the scratching scene? Tell us uh for kids out there trying to get into it? How would you get into it now if you’re, a young kid i mean nowadays, the internet go to qq. Has a school yeah for uh university, cooperative university.com, but really just go out there get a pair of turntables and a mixer and explore you don’t know everybody has a different genre of music.
They like to uh, you know, associate themselves as being a part of and it’s sky’s the limit. You just pick up. Some turntables start scratching yeah, there’s all these tutorials online.
If you look at all the competitions, the dmc competitions uh, it’s all you know great champions and everyone’s doing different things on the turntables and you can pretty much teach yourself how to do it really.
