Quick Tips: Epoxy

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Quick Tips: Epoxy”.
Hey i’m bob from i like to make stuff today on this quick tip. We’Re going to talk about epoxy epoxy is a great material that you can use for all sorts of different stuff. You can use it to pour castings. You can fill holes or gaps in any kind of wood or you can use it to make a protective covering on just about any surface. Now chemically there are a lot of different types of epoxy.

Some are food safe. Some are not. You want to make sure that you’re getting the right one for your application. Each one also has its own properties and you’ll need to weigh that into your decision as to which one to use some of those properties are clarity, set time and work time. But there are others make sure that you read up and do your research epoxy comes in all different size containers and usually comes in two parts: the resin and a hardener. The mixture of these two parts is very specific to the one that you buy, so you’ll have to read the instructions once you mix them together.

You have a certain amount of time to work with it before it starts setting up, then you need to be aware of the full cure time before you do anything else with it. While you’re mixing, you can add a little bit of dye to tint the epoxy to be a certain color and the best way to get rid of bubbles is to use a vacuum chamber or just a heat gun in an upcoming project. I’Ll be using epoxy to fill a void between two different pieces of wood and then add some lights, underneath it for an interesting effect check back soon for more quick tips and that upcoming project you .
