Announcing the Raspberry Pi 3 B+ - Faster CPU, Faster WiFi & More

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Announcing the Raspberry Pi 3 B+ – Faster CPU, Faster WiFi & More”.
Welcome back to the workshop today is wednesday march 14th albert einstein’s birthday, or more popularly known lately as pi day and there’s been a bit of a tradition for the last couple years that the raspberry pi foundation uses this day to announce a new version of their Single board computer, the raspberry pi, this one is called the raspberry pi 3 b, plus it’s a little bit faster than the previous raspberry pi 3 clocking in at 1.4 gigahertz. It also has some better thermal management, so you won’t have the overheating issues like you did with previous models. Maybe the biggest change to this one is the wireless radio. The pi will now support wi-fi on 5 gigahertz networks as well as 2.4, and also has support for bluetooth 4.2, as well as bluetooth, low energy there’s some new efficiencies in the wired ethernet too, it should run three times quicker than previous models, plus with a forthcoming Pi hat add-on you’ll also be able to power your pi with power over ethernet. The new pi isn’t especially groundbreaking, but it’s better than the previous one in just about every way. Of course, every part of the form factor has gone unchanged, so it should drop straight into any of your previous projects if you’re looking for some classic raspberry pi projects to build with your new pie, here’s a few suggestions to get you started so thanks for watching.
