What... IS this thing!? - WEIRD tech @ CES 2019

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “What… IS this thing!? – WEIRD tech @ CES 2019”.
Could you like move this way a bit wait for real, that’s pretty funny! It’S day, five of tech length coverage of CES, our last episode of the week and as you can see, we’re pretty much ready to go. You ready to go Pella. We got to get out of here, but first the weirdest stuff episode. Ces is fantastic for showing off the newest technology, but innovation doesn’t always look pretty or even make sense.

So we’re taking a look at some of the weirdest tech at CES 2019, because there’s a lot. The whole episode is going to be one big, quick bits, ready, Pella you’re, not even paying attention he’s on his phone now I know we’ve talked about the love OTT a number of times in this channel already, but I just wanted to mention it again in the Weirdest stuff episode like it’s a pet baby and people seem to actually like it like. What am I missing here? Maybe I actually love the love ah, and that’s why it bugs me so much.

Maybe we have one of those complicated relationships like sometimes you want to kill your siblings, but if someone else bad-mouths them you’re, like hey, that’s my robot pet baby. Speaking of babies, babies is a small camera designed to be stuck to your baby, so you can record precious moments from the baby’s point of view. The reasoning kind of makes sense. People rarely remember anything from their first few years of life, so this is a way to preserve some of those memories. But would I want to remember my parents facial expressions as they were changing my diapers? I could do without it Edd’s. Oh, what’s the best thing about having a pet companionship wrong, it’s the tail! Obviously, that’s why Japanese company youkai engineering made the Kubo a furry pillow with an electronic tail that wags, when you stroke it and wags faster when you bop it you’re not sold, and sometimes it wags for no discernible reason at all.

You can’t tell why it’s wagging, because it doesn’t have a face or limbs I mean if you’re getting a love on you might as well pick this up too. You know robot pet baby. Things got ta catch him uh! Well, if you do have a cat like a Elwin, you could take advantage of the little cat, an exercise wheel for felines, with a laser pointer built right in trick your cat into exercising until it collapses from exhaustion, while you’re at work. You can even watch and laugh at your pet from a connected camera. Haha pets are so stupid should have just gotten a furry alien pillow. You like pets, Pella, you like pets, and this isn’t a weird product.

So much as it’s a weird statement by Apple, you might have seen that Apple put up a giant ad, that’s directly visible from the CES main entrance, where we are that reads what happens on your iPhone stays on your iPhone. Well, as Troy, Wolverton ad Business Insider points out, that might be somewhat true for some iPhone users who don’t use iCloud and who don’t search using Google, which is the default search engine on iOS and who don’t use Facebook or any of the other apps from the Companies you’re, throwing shade at with this ad Apple itself, doesn’t collect iPhone users, data and sell it to companies, but like that, doesn’t make it a magically safe phone with impenetrable security. So Apple’s advertising adage is about as true as the one about Vegas. What happens in Vegas a big is about it. Does it they’re gon na find out now before we continue down the weirdness list? We got to thank our sponsor C sonic, who helped make tech linked CES trip possible. Some companies try to be a jack-of-all-trades and end up being a master of none but see sonic.

They make good power supplies. How long have they been making power supplies 40 years when you’ve been engineering, something for 40 years chances are you’re pretty good at it see sonic power supplies are dependable, efficient and deliver outstanding performance. So if you need a PSU for your next build or upgrade, do yourself a favor, make it see, sonic guys check them out of the link below VR motion.

Sickness is a thing as Edie can attest. I didn’t even know you would be here when I wrote when I was gon na film this, but I wrote that so you might think that adding VR headsets to the backseat of a car is not the best idea, but outtie disagrees its co-founded a startup called Hollow ride to develop a VR game that uses their new Iran’s SUVs movements to inform what the virtual experience looks like and the results are apparently pretty good. I have this thing on the weird list, but it’s kind of weird and cool.

At the same time, I’m conflicted – Google, Amazon and Facebook have made smart displays that are meant to sit in common areas in a home like the living room or kitchen, but GES skipping. All that and sticking a smart display right on kitchen appliances. The kitchen hub is a 27 inch. Android power display meant to sit above your stove, so grandma can guide you through making her special recipe, as if you had captured her essence and imprisoned her in your stove speaking of ovens. What, if you didn’t even need to cook your food yourself, the whirlpool smart countertop oven, has a camera inside which will be able to scan and recognize select frozen foods automatically choosing the best settings to cook your TV dinner to absolute perfection. I can taste the slightly less rubbery meat now, here’s something that’s weird and cool as well: the Cosmo communicator, a flip phone with a physical keyboard, an external mini display and two USB seaports. James took a look at it because he was baffled that so many people funded this device on IndieGoGo but walked away only slightly less confused and one thing I’m confused about is the welt, a smart belt that takes health tracking features like steps taken and time spent Inactive and ads active, waist size tracking, the name apparently came from combining the words wearable and built not from the bruise. You could get while using this as something other than a pants securing device, but also something to think about regular belts that don’t have fitness tracking are also wearables, and we already talked about koehlers Noomi 2.0 intelligent toilet, but this is the weirdest stuff episode. So it’s got to be in here, so there it is come on all right. That’S it for this episode guys and that’s it for our time here at CES, thanks for watching this week next week, we’ll be back in the studio and back to our regular Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule CES, it’s been fun, but I got a bounce come on guys. Let’S bounce come on, let’s go hello, we got ta come on yeah, let’s go Edsel eyes attach the camera. Oh man see ya, we got ta got the bags.

That’S oh, come on. .
