Apple’S Worldwide Developer Conference keynote happened today and plenty of announcements were made, including independent apps, for the Apple watch. This isn’t to have watch, don’t worry about it that don’t require an iPhone. Ios 13 was announced with features like the long-anticipated dark mode, a swipe keyboard and a competitor to Google’s Street View that can be navigated with swipes instead of taps. Apple is also rolling out.
A sign-in with Apple feature to compete with Facebook and Google and like Steam and lots of other things and they’re touting that, unlike competitors Apple, will not track you when you sign in to third-party sites. Additionally, there’s a new iPad OS that will be based on iOS, but include more iPad, specific features to better use the larger screen and, of course, much much more wait. How does our summary not include the new Mac Pro the new Mac fruit? It’S a tower now, anyway, we don’t want to be accused of Apple shilling again, so we’re gon na move on to other stuff. Could Radeon graphics be coming to your Mac Pro? Yes, they could not. Sorry, sorry we’re good luck. It’S not gon na be Apple stuff.

Well, I’m not saying that AMD is gon na be shoving an Rx Vega card into something small enough to carry in your pocket, but it does appear that AMD will be licensing. Some of its graphics technologies to Samsung for use in its phone lineup. Officially the announcement concerns a multi-year partnership in ultra low power, high performance, mobile graphics.
I can’t even do finger quotes for long enough for that title and, of course, Samsung will be paying AMD handsomely for the privilege, so the technology will be based on AMD’s rDNA, a technology which is supposed to scale very well between devices and seeing a Samsung controls. Almost half of the android market, the announcement could mean cig, mythically, better graphics, for tons of users in the near future. That is as long as they aren’t married to their iPhones. In other news, it looks like the ball is fully rolling on front-facing selfie cameras that are totally buried behind the phone screen.
Competitors. Otto and xiaomi have both revealed phones with invisible front cameras, okay, they’re a little bit visible, but but but the screens in front of them. So Xiaomi’s me9 announcement came mere hours after Apple unveiled, what it referred to as the world’s first. So, instead of relying on something like a hole, punch, shammies cameras are covered by a transparent display portion that allows light to pass through now, because these announcements were just made.
There’S no word yet on when the phones will be available or how well the camera itself will actually perform compared to the you know, super visible selfie cameras that we already know and love, but hopefully, if nothing else, this will end up killing off the dreaded knotch.
