The LG G8X has TWO displays?? ..sort of

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “The LG G8X has TWO displays?? ..sort of”.
Hey so we just got back from an LG briefing where they introduced the LG G 8x thin Q and that naming convention probably sounds pretty familiar. And that’s because this phone is really similar to the LG G 8 and Q. Now, you’re not going to get that 3d hemoglobin blood sampling thing that we had in the g8. Thank you, but there are a few new tricks of this phone sleeve that you’re probably going to enjoy so from a heart specs perspective. This phone is really similar to the g8 thin Q, so I’m just gon na throw up these specs list here.

So you can take a look so the primary changes in this phone or that you’re going to get an in display fingerprint reader, which we did not get in the g8. Then Q you’re going to get a set of stereo speakers which are apparently perfectly balanced. So they choose them to output the same amount of noise so that it sounds more balanced and then you’re going to get a much higher resolution. Selfie camera at 32 megapixels. But what you’re, probably all here for is the dual screen display that LG is shipping. With this phone – and it actually comes in the box with the phone, so you’re not gon na – have to buy it as a separate accessory.

Now, the primary change between this phone and the V 50 think use dual screen display. Is that it’s going to be the exact same panel as you’re going to see in the main phone? So you really pretty much have two of the same panel on both sides of the device. Now, this also means that they included a notch in the dual screen display. I don’t really know if this was the right move, because it’s a little awkward, it doesn’t actually have a camera in there. Bell G said that they wanted to do this because they want it to be pretty much exactly the same on both panels. Apparently, oh, let’s can discolor in different ways.

If you use different panels, LG just decided to use the exact same panel on both displays and that way you’re going to get a more consistent experience. Now, you’re probably wondering what exactly you can do with these two displays and at first I thought they was going to be a little bit weird and maybe kind of pointless, but it actually seems pretty cool. You can do things like extending your display. So if you want to read one news, article across two screens and just scroll across that, you can do that I’ll, be if there’s a hinge in the center, you can do a video chat on one screen and all so read an article on another screen.

In case you want to pass information between you and the person in your video chatting with, and you can even set custom functions for gaming, so they’ve got four presets for gaming. They’Ve got like a steering wheel and some other button functions, but you can actually set your own controls so that it feels more seamless with the game that you’re playing now the screen does rotate 360 degrees, and that means that you can use it for things like Taking photos so, if you’re taking a photo of a person, they can see what the photo is going to look like before. You actually take the picture and we saw this in the vivo next dual display edition and it was a relatively handy feature because people are often very picky about what their selfies end up looking like. So this is pretty nice to see here too now we were a little bit worried that this big second display, which is a six point four inch OLED, was going to take up a lot more battery life.

Lg said that the phone takes about 1.2 to 1.3 times more power, if you have it in the dual screen display. So that means that you should be able to get about a day’s worth of battery life if you’re, using that way all day. We’Re definitely going to have to test that, though cuz screen on time is often what sucks up a lot of your phone’s battery. But we will let you know as soon as we get a unit in so that’s been about it for the LG G 8 X. 10 Q we’ve got an article over at Android authority comm that has all the specs and some more photos over there and we will be sure to let you know as soon as we get this device in for review. So until the next article I will catch you later, .
