Samsung Galaxy S20 series HANDS ON!

Samsung Galaxy S20 series HANDS ON!

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Samsung Galaxy S20 series HANDS ON!”.
Hey guys so it’s February 11th, which means today is galaxy. Unpacked and Samsung has just officially unveiled the galaxy s 20 series. Now, if you don’t know everything already, because these phones have leaks and lakes and linked, it might just be the most leaked phone of all time stay tuned, because we’ve got some specs for you now of course, first things. First, we’ve got three galaxy s.

20S. This year we’ve got the galaxy s: 20 galaxy s, 20 plus and the galaxy s 20 ultra. So that means no there’s no e phone this year, there’s no cheaper model, they’re all pretty premium devices, but the ultra model. It has some special stuff in store. Now that also means that they’re pretty massive to the small galaxy s 20 is 6.2 inches.

The plus is six point, seven inches and the Ultra is six point nine inches, so you pretty much, don’t really have an option to get a tiny phone. These are all pretty big phones, as it is now the Galaxy S 10. We had this curve on the side that made it feel pretty premium and enabled you to kind of use those edge gestures on the Galaxy S. Twenty series they’ve almost completely done away with that curve, such a much more flat display. Now there is still a little bit of a curve on the edges, probably to use those edge gestures, but I think they probably found out that people weren’t using them as much as they thought, so they decided to flatten them out a little bit now. The specs on all three of these phones are pretty similar, but we should know that the smaller galaxy s 20 doesn’t have millimeter-wave 5g. So yes, all three of these phones are 5g phones, which is pretty nice to see you don’t have to buy a separate 5g edition of this phone.

However, the smaller one not gon na have millimeter-wave. Now all three obviously have sub 6 gigahertz 5g, but if you’re wanting to get millimeter wave you’re going to have to get either the plus or the ultra alright, so let’s run through the core specs. Of course all these phones are sporting. The new qualcomm snapdragon 865 processor – they all have 128 gigabytes storage options. But if you get the plus or ultra, you’ve got a 512 gigabyte storage option and they both come with up to one terabyte of microSD card expansions. So you can put a lot of storage in these devices, something that’s pretty cool about. All three of these phones is just how much RAM they have all three models have 12 gigabytes of RAM, but the ultra has a tene gigabyte of ram variant and obviously android doesn’t need twelve or sixteen gigabytes of ram right now. But samsung has taken advantage of this ram in a pretty cool way, so now you’re able to pin five apps to memory so that they’re always open you’re not going to have to launch that app and have it open up in real time. It’S going to be stuck in memory, so you are pretty much just multitasking and jumping back and forth between that app.

You have to load anything in so that’s gon na be useful for things like games, but of course you could do it with other apps as well. Something else that’s really interesting about these devices is that they’re able to do a hundred and twenty Hertz AMOLED at fhd Plus resolution. Now you can’t do this at qhd, which kind of sucks, but a lot of people really aren’t able to tell the difference between f h2 Q anyway. So if you’re willing to run 1080p you’re gon na get a 120 Hertz refresh rate, they’ve also got 4000 4500 and 5000 million power batteries respectively. They all come with 25 watt chargers in the box, but the ultra has an optional 45 watt charger. Just like we saw in the Galaxy Note, 10 and you’ve got reverse wireless charging in wireless charging.

That is the same rate as the Galaxy Note 10 in display fingerprint reader from Qualcomm that we saw last year. Unfortunately, it’s not the new reader that Qualcomm just announced. So that’s kind of disappointing and you’re getting no headphone jack, which I know a lot of people are going to talk about, because the Galaxy S series has traditionally been one of the last flagship phones. You could get with a headphone jack, which is kind of sad, but than that you’re getting ip68 water resistance, microSD card expansion, pretty much everything that you would want out of a samsung smart phone, except for that headphone jack. Like a lot of flagships these days. These phones are all about the cameras and boy.

Do these cameras pack a punch? Let’S start with the Galaxy S 20 and s 20 plus, but these two phones you’re getting a 12 megapixel standard lens, a 12 megapixel wide lens and a 64 megapixel 3x optical telephoto lens. Now, with that 3x optical telephoto and a combination with the resolution that you’re getting on that lens, Samsung is able to do a hybrid zoom of 30x. So this is pretty close to what, while we was doing on the Huawei p30 Pro, but not quite for some reason: the smaller galaxy s 20 doesn’t have a depth, sensing camera, but the plus and the ultra doux, and I’m not really sure why they did that. Maybe it was space savings, but who knows also both? These phones are going to have a 10 megapixel camera on the front of the phone and they use a hole-punch display very similar to the Galaxy Note 10.1, that phone now for the s20 Ultra, which is really about the cameras for the main sensor. You’Ve got a 108 megapixel sensor, but the really exciting thing about this sensor is that it bends down to a ratio of 9 to 1, so you’ve actually got huge, huge pixels that come out at 12 megapixels. So, theoretically, this sensor should do really really well in low-light performance, and I’m really excited to test this out when we get a unit for review other than that you’ve got a 12 megapixel wide-angle camera and you’ve got a 48 megapixel telephoto camera.

Now this telephoto camera kind of uses that prism telephoto zoom, just like the Huawei pre-30 pro, but it’s 4 X instead of 5x, but that combined with the massive amount of data that you’re getting from that main sensor, allows you to do something that Samsung is calling Space soom, which is a hundred x, digital, hybrid, zoom, sort of now. This is a hundred x versus 50x that we saw on the web AP 30 pro it looked to do pretty. Well, while we were testing it in our hands on time, but I’m mostly interested in trying this out to see if it’s gon na look like total crap or if it’s actually pretty usable the galaxy s 20 ultra also has a 40 megapixel camera on the front Of the phone that bins down to 10 megapixels there’s something really cool.

That’S enabled by the snapdragon 865 is the ability to shoot 8k video on all three of these phones and you can take thirty-three megapixel snapshot just by tapping the shutter button, while you’re shooting video, which is really interesting. Now, I’m not sure if anyone’s actually going to throw up phone content on an 8k TV right now, but it’s cool that they have this capability. Currently in case people start having a K, TVs down.

The road Samsung has also added a new feature called single take, which basically has you take a little bit of video, and that makes a bunch of different things, for you can make different still images based on really good scenes that you’ve taken in that video. It can make sped up video reversed video, filtered video, filtered photos and just a whole bunch of different types of media, and you can basically just select it from there. So I think Samsung’s trying to make it as easy as possible to make some really unique media. Now that was a lot to go through, but that’s pretty much.

It obviously we’ll be showing you a lot more in our full review, but these phones are gon na cost. A lot of money. The standard galaxy s 20 starts at $ 9.99. If the s 20 plus starts at 1199 and the s 20, Ultra is gon na start at 13 99, which is one of the most expensive phones that we’ve seen so far.

If you want to get your hands on one of these phones, you can priam starting on February 21st. In actual sales are going to start on March 6th and that’s pretty much it for a galaxy s. 20 series we’ll have a lot more content coming in the near future on these things, but make sure you drop your comments in the comment section below, and I have to give a huge, huge shout out to eber over a hardware canucks, because after my briefing, my Sd card corrupted, so a lot of the footage that you saw in this article was actually his so make sure you head over to the hardware canucks youtube channel to watch their video as well. Thank you.

Thank you very much, anyways I’ll catch. You guys in the next article .
