Should Note 20 Ultra should be the LAST Galaxy Note?

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Should Note 20 Ultra should be the LAST Galaxy Note?”.
So here, in my lofty hand, i’m holding the samsung galaxy note 20 ultra and it’s a good smartphone. It’S 120 hertz display 6.9 inches. It’S freaking huge. It’S got a really versatile big camera system. It is very ultra in a lot of ways um, but i think that this is the last samsung galaxy note that samsung should actually make so you’re gon na have to stick with me here, because i’m gon na need to explain this a little bit. So the note has always been the productivity device and, like pretty much every note, that’s come out since, like the original galaxy note, samsung showed off people using this as kind of their main computer.

That’S always been the dream, like a laptop computer, a super productivity device that you can always fit in your pocket and by and large our phones have kind of become productivity devices. I mean we use them for, like everything, a lot of the times i’ll catch myself. Checking gmail on my phone when my laptop’s right in front of me, or i close twitter on my laptop and reopen it on my phone and they’ve just become like these ultimate in-pocket productivity machines.

But then last year samsung released the galaxy fold and that phone starts as a regular sized phone opens up to be a huge like almost tablet style device. Now, obviously, it’s not quite as big as regular size tablets, but especially the new galaxy z. Fold 2, which samsung just announced, gets really freaking big and it doesn’t have a huge camera bump on the front. So you can use all of that display.

Should Note 20 Ultra should be the LAST Galaxy Note?

It’S really. Basically, a tablet – and you know the big thing that samsung always shows to make sure that people know that the galaxy note is a productivity device. Is the s pen and yeah. It is legitimately useful for a number of things i like to take screenshots with it and draw over them. If i’m trying to annotate on things to send to my friends but honestly, i found that a large screen device overall by and large is more useful than just having a pet. Now this is kind of where that idea comes into play, that this should be the last note now look the note is getting really expensive. The note 20 ultra in particular, is thirteen hundred dollars. Now, if we contrast that, with the foldables from last year, yeah the first galaxy fold was almost two thousand dollars, but the galaxy z flip was thirteen hundred and eighty dollars so not a lot more than the galaxy note, 20 ultra and especially right now.

I think that samsung is having a hard time, distinguishing what it wants its power users to buy right, like usually they have the super cheap, affordable phones that they sell to a huge amount of consumers, and then they have the galaxy s line, which is kind of Like the mainstream, if you’re buying a phone on a contract device and you’re willing to spend a little bit more money, then there’s that and then there’s the note series for people that just want to completely ball out and just spend a ton of money. But they’re. Getting the most power user device possible with a ton of storage, a ton of ram a really good display all of that stuff. But now they’re in this weird predicament, where they’ve got the galaxy z fold 2 coming out in september, and that phone is really a beast in its own right.

I mean it’s a productivity machine. They really refined it from the first galaxy fold and it looks like it’s going to be a phone for people that want to expand their content, they’re going to want to do actual work on that phone. So from my perspective, it would make a lot of sense to actually just merge the galaxy note series and the galaxy fold series into one ultimate productivity machine. You could have a phone that starts as a normal sized phone and also fold out to be a tablet and have an s pen i mean s.

Should Note 20 Ultra should be the LAST Galaxy Note?

Pen is useful as it is on a phone this size, but imagine the s pen on a phone that folds out into a tablet i mean apple – is selling a boatload of apple pencils because of how well they work on the ipad. Imagine being able to do that with something that starts as a phone, and it just turns into a tablet like you could use the phone as a phone when you want to and then use it as this great amazing productivity device. When you want something bigger that just seems like it was made for each other. Now, i’m thinking about this for a while and in last year’s galaxy fold.

It didn’t really make a lot of sense to put an s pen in there, because there were already a lot of concerns about the quality of the display and whether or not it was going to break and if people’s fingers were going to break it. So obviously, using an s pen on a super soft plastic display light that was not going to fly, but now samsung is using material called ultra thin glass. They first debuted it in the galaxy c flip and now they’re going to put an enhanced version of it. In the galaxy z, fold 2.

– and i assume that they’re gon na get better and better at manufacturing, this type of display like over a long period of time now they are not putting an s pen in the galaxy z fold too, and it’s possible that the Ultra thin glass is still a little bit too thin to put the amount of pressure that you would use on a pen on that display. But in the long run it makes so much sense to put an s pen in the galaxy z fold series and i’m not saying that the galaxy note 20 ultra is small compared to the galaxy z. Flip 2. It’S just in this really weird space like i just reviewed the pixel 4a and i really really love the size of that phone.

The screen is 5.8 inches. The body is not that much bigger than that. I mean it. Just feels really amazing and compact, and it’s nice to have that as an option where the galaxy note 20 ultra is so freaking big, like i have pretty normal sized hands, and this thing is pretty massive.

Even for my hands, i feel like it would make a lot more sense to like give people the option of buying a small phone and then buying a separate tablet or just buying this ultimate productivity phone tablet, at the same time that they could use as a Phone when they want to and then use as a tablet when it actually makes sense – and i mean android tablets – have always suffered in the tablet category and usually it’s because they’re not powerful enough or sometimes it’s just because their ui is exactly the same. As your phone and displays on phones are getting really big like on the galaxy note, 20 ultra its 6.9 inch display is almost as big as the original android tablets that came out a few years ago, so it just doesn’t really make a lot of sense to Buy another tablet device that is less powerful than your phone and has a screen, that’s just about as big and the fact that the s pen is always on you because it fits inside of the phone. I mean that’s a luxury that you’re not going to get out of pretty much any other device and isn’t that what people have always wanted anyways the idea of like a pocket computer that goes with you all the time i feel like there have been so many Companies that have made permutation after permutation of this idea, but they’ve never really honed it or crafted it down. We’Ve seen laptops that are as big as phones and we’ve seen, phones that are as big as laptops and we’ve seen. Phones that fit into laptops to try to become laptops, but we’re just not at the point where you can have this one all-in-one device. That’S always in your pocket and can be a major productivity device when you want it to be, and that just kind of seems like the perfect time, because we’ve got like qualcomm.

That’S trying to get microsoft to put windows on arm with products like the surface pro x, we’ve got apple, moving to its own arm based silicon, which is the same thing that runs on its iphones and ipads, like it makes so much sense to just merge these Two technologies into one device, especially right now and i feel like samsung – is more equipped than anybody to do this. I think the one thing that’s missing for me is a solid, dedicated keyboard and i think microsoft has the right idea for this on the surface neo, where it magnetically attaches to the inside of the computer, and you can use it with one screen when you feel Like it and you can fold it out and use it separately when you feel like it too, i mean that just feels like the perfect all-in-one device, but i feel like foldables in general, are much more useful than dual screen devices, but that’s just me anyways. Let me know what you guys think about this concept.

Do you think the galaxy fold series should replace the note personally, i think this is the logical conclusion and it’s kind of the productivity workhorse that i’ve been waiting for for like forever. So it seems pretty awesome. Anyways stick around.

We got the full galaxy note: 20 ultra review coming in just a little bit, i’m working on it right now, but until then i’ll catch you guys in the next article .
