On top of all of this, ios 16 also gives you the option to create multiple, lock screens and tie them to various profiles or focus. For example, you can create a lock screen for your work and have your calendar front and center, and when you’re out and about you, can set the lock screen to display your activity rings and music. The options are endless and you can set everything up. However, you want, on the other hand, android’s, lock, screens, look a little more restrained. Rumored clock designs for android 12 are nowhere to be found. Google’S contextual at a glance, feature never came to fruition and widgets have all but disappeared from many android skins as lock screens, but now that apple is paying a lot of attention to its own lock screens.

At first i thought this was just going to be a glorified implementation of the reminders app, but i was sorely mistaken. If you take multiple drugs, you can even share this information with your loved ones, which is great when you are monitoring children, teens or elderly patients. But if google wants to take fitness tracking and health seriously, especially with the release of the pixel watch, then the company is gon na have to follow suit real soon. Another feature we’d like to see on android is video call handoff with new versions of ios ipad, os and mac os. You will be able to start a facetime call from one device and switch to the other without having to do the whole awkward, hey uh. Let me call you back song and dance to be fair. Google me does let you join a call through two instances, one from your phone and the other from your computer. However, transitioning between the devices on meat isn’t nearly as seamless as apple’s implementation.
Maybe google will get around to creating a similar feature. You know once they’re done merging meat with its other video calling platform duo. Now video call handoff is just one of the many ways.
Apple has worked to create an interconnected product portfolio and features like continuity, sidecar and universal control have been around for years, making it easy for people to hop from one device to the other. Google is still quite far off from creating this deep level of integration between device and services. However, with the upcoming release of the pixel watch and the pixel tablet in 2023, it’s likely we are going to see google adopt similar features from apple’s ecosystem for its own products.
