This is not perfect. This is not finished. This is not particularly useful in its current state, but I’m proud to present to you a step into the future. Welcome to holographic calling all you need is a smartphone, a hologram generator, which you can either make ready simply or you can just buy of ebay. You need a periscope made for smartphones, which is again a very, very inexpensive item and then yourself, the periscope will essentially allow the front camera to see sideways, so you can actually have your phone on a flat surface and still Skype.
Somebody now the magic here is a short algorithm that I spent quite a bit of time. Developing it will instantaneously record the output of a Skype, call remove the background and then project it as a holographic image. Now all you actually need to be able to do for this is to sit in front of a contrasting background. This allows the algorithm to detect it and delete the area around you as a person so guys. That’S it like any new technology err has problems. It’S not perfect.
Some people struggle to see the use of it, but this is, I believe, the next generation of video calling I’m going to try and release the algorithm as an app hopefully in the coming month.
