So I don’t normally make videos like this, but the other day I came across an application that it’s just so cool, but I have to give it a spin and show you how I got it. Is it scans your face. It uses your forward facing camera to look at where your face is within a certain frame and depending on where you move the face. It’Ll move the mouse accordingly, so this works up to a range of about a meter away. So you don’t even need to be particularly close to your smartphone to use it as you might expect.
It does require quite an extensive set of permission so review those before you download it yourself once installed. It’S amazingly accurate. Moving your head from side to plate even fairly slightly causes precise movements with the mouse.
I’M amazed that this front phone camera is able to track this well. The technology is at its best when there’s a high contrast between you and your background, but even when there isn’t, the application fell. Surprisingly little, whilst the intention of the project was to allow people with body paralysis to still control the smartphone. Even I found it personally very useful.
