Umidigi S2 - Flagship Smartphone for $199??

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “Umidigi S2 – Flagship Smartphone for $199??”.
This video was sponsored by Squarespace, what’s up guys and welcome to the Amida GS, to affirm that in a lot of ways, as she feels a lot more premium than his price tag would suggest, given the phone can be hard for just under two hundred dollars. It’S impressive to see: we’ve got a six inch eighteen to nine aspect, display we’ve got a metal, unibody design and a 5100 milliamp hour battery. Let’S talk about that display and at five point nine nine inches with an IPS technology behind it it’s a pretty decent panel. It’S got good colors, good contrast and plenty of brightness enough to clearly see the phone in outdoor conditions. The elongated aspect ratio is rare at a smart phone off this price, but it not only allows you to view more on the screen at any one time, but also makes the phone look a lot more like a flagship. In fact, when you combine the aspect ratio with the slightly curved corners of the screen, you realize from the front at least it looks almost identical to the Google pixel to excel and for the most part, this aspect ratio is good news. Whilst every now and again, you will get black bars on either side of your content, more and more applications are now starting to support full screen immersion.

One potential sticking point, though, is just the number of pixels on offer. We’Ve got a 1440 by 720p display which gives us a ppi of two six nine, and this translates to text looking very readable but at the same time noticeably less sharp than 1080p. When you’re very close up. When it comes to the body, you have to commend the company for being bold enough to actually offer a color like this they’ve also got black and silver for people who aren’t feeling quite as adventurous, but I don’t hate this one I do wish.

There is perhaps a little more black and a little bit less red, because this one really is quite in your face, even though the metal around the phone feels kind of thin, the phone is chunky, both in terms of weight and thickness. The aluminium body does have a couple of benefits, though it’s not only quite resistant to scratches as well as fingerprints, but it’s also very easy to clean, whilst clearly we’re not getting wireless charging on this guy. What you do get is almost complete resistance to fingerprints, which means every time you take the phone out your pocket. It feels as if it’s brand new compared to the 1 5. It doesn’t have the soft touch finish that that phone does. So it’s not great, but it’s not bad either.

Now battery is really fantastic. When you combine a capacity that is almost double of that of its competitors with a display resolution that really isn’t too taxing. We are looking at at least two days of usage and three. If you’re a little bit more conservative and as well as being pretty good at battery life in its own right, the software helps you along.

There are a whole bunch of different battery profiles and the one I especially like is ultra power saving, which turns the screen. Black and white, the brightness all the way down and limits you to a very few select number of applications, but in terms of battery life, it’s incredible under the hood. It’S pretty good. We’Ve got an octa-core Helio, P, 24 gigs of ram and 64 gigs of storage.

With room for another SD card and what that means for gaming is, for the most part, pretty smooth performance. I was actually somewhat surprised because, even though this is a bang on mid-range chip, it even handles 3d tasks with not much of a hitch. Benchmarking is not really at strongest suit, weird 56,000 and antutu, but in terms of UI performance, it’s as responsive as you need it to be. You’Ll notice, slight limitations when it comes to loading times, but all in all, it’s a pretty smooth experience.

The fingerprint scanner 2 was pretty great. I do like the positioning on the rear and the way it’s got this little ring around. It means your finger naturally falls into place on it and it feels different enough from the cameras for you to not accidentally press them. The phone runs a pretty stock version of Android and has almost no bloatware, which is good but weirdly enough. If you look at the bottom of the phone and the navigation bar, it’s stolen the buttons to her Utley from Samsung, which doesn’t exactly inspire confidence in the legitimacy of the phone.

Having said that, the speaker sounds pretty good too. Whilst that is tucked away in the bottom right hand, corner of the phone and as downwards firing, which is an optimal, the sound itself is pretty loud and pretty clear, with a decent amount of bass to. Unfortunately, the only DTS to does have a couple of sticking points, whilst it’s great that this is a stock version of Android, it is Android 6.0 and judging by the company’s past records, it’s very unlikely to get a future update when it comes to camera.

Whilst the company claims a dual camera setup, this is unfortunately another one of those smartphones that really doesn’t do what it says on the tin in all, but the most optimal usage case scenarios. The second camera functions on this phone are pretty much useless, but forgetting about the dual camera entirely. The primary sensor here isn’t half bad. We’Ve got loads of detail and punchy colors and whilst this phone doesn’t have the best aperture you’re, not gon na get loads of depth of field or blurring of the background and its shutter time is a little bit on the slow side.

It’S good enough. So there we have it that is the Amidah gs2, a surprising phone. It’S designed in a way that means to a lot of people on first inspection. You could fool them into thinking, it’s a phone costing many times more and whilst on closer inspection, there are things like the resolution of the display, like we supposed dual camera on the rear, which really aren’t up to par that gigantic 5100 million power battery makes up.
