I must speak to the supreme chancellor so today we’re checking out the latest from zte, but before we jump inside the box, of course, you saw these other boxes. I’M salivating from the halls give me one second here, so this device packs in the second generation of their under display front-facing camera, eliminating the notch and the hole punch simply black 8 gigs of ram 128 storage. There is also, i believe, an ultra variant of this device. This thing has a very large display on it. 6.92 inches look at that. It already powered up somewhat unique camera section. There are a ton of little lenses in there, including a 64 megapixel main camera. They call this black, but it it kind of has maybe like a deep, green or blue type of hue to it as well. It’S curved you have gorilla glass on the front, usb type c, connector, speaker and sim tray. Can i even notice where that camera is, that is fairly well hidden, try to capture up there.
There is a front-facing camera, it’s in the typical location in the center, but it’s really tough to pick up on this second generation under display tech. If you’re not seeing it much here, then you’re not gon na see it much at all, certainly not against black. For that matter, screen refresh out of the box is set to auto, though you can lock it at 60 hertz for better battery life or 120 hertz. If you want top performance, i’m gon na do that right now, because i love a fast refresh. Ah, look at this notchless display or hide status bar very interesting. It looks a lot different than some that i’ve seen in the past. I wonder what happens when i trigger on the front-facing camera? Might as well do a selfie while we’re here, you kind of have to adjust your expectations a little bit at this generation of this tech. However, that’s a that’s, a useful photo right there, and certainly for video conferencing and the things that people typically use a front-facing camera for.
Is it going to be the top performer in a space or equivalent to full cut out notch or hole punch? Maybe not this generation, but still some pretty cool tech for something that you pretty much don’t see at all. Even on a white background. It’S not a soft case like you’ll, see typically included in the pack.
This one is hard slightly more premium than the usual included case. Here’S the power brick that i mentioned. It is usb type c and 65 watt capable so fairly powerful charge brick.
This is going to take usbc and give you 3.5. On the other end, the battery inside the device is 4200 milliamp hours, and here is your type c cable c2c. In order to connect it, let’s see what zte is working with ooh supercharged. Look at that seeing it go up in real time, even though we’re already at 94 percent 2460 by 1080 pixels amoled 120 hertz, as mentioned, let’s boot up a video here, a dark video like this is perfect for demonstrating the amoled [ Applause ].
So you look at this from the side and you might think for a second hey that doesn’t look and that’s that’s wild. I mean we got like seven inch smartphones. Now i mean that’s a that’s a decent display, no doubt about it. So i’m gon na load up the camera switch from the selfie by default.
We have our 1x option. There is also a 0.5 x ultra wide and then a 2x zoom. Oh look at this tap the capture button to generate photos which are captured by main camera and wide angle camera.
So like a two for one, oh yeah check it out same photo, one snap, both cameras, main camera and ultra wide. So, if you’re at an event or something – and you want flexibility – you quickly, snap, both options – you have the wide you have the crop, but it’s not a crop. It’S actually a completely separate image, completely separate camera.
Let’S try out the zoom while we’re at it. 2X. 1X ultra wide ultra wide main camera and then the zoom brings you a lot closer. I’M uh i like how the color temperature remains almost exactly the same across the three different pictures.
If i approach something and get really close like this, it will say click to enter macro, that’s kind of cool. You can see individual fibers on those buttons. Some people think they don’t need to use.
They don’t need to have a macro camera, but it’s kind of fun to play with every. So often it could be like a flower or a bug. Let me get the knife real, quick, unbox therapy knife.
This one always turns out some interesting results on the macro. I try to get the blade right there. What’S cool on this frame, you can see the individual lines inside the steel check out the detail on the cartridge. I always end up having too much fun with the macro, these little tiny devices and cartridges and things it just gives you a different uh different perspective, all right, so let’s go ahead and get the full spec list here. This is a new generation of their under display camera tech with 400 ppi pixel density. It’S packing the snapdragon, 870 6.92 inches fhd, plus amoled display 120 hertz refresh rate is an improvement from the zte axon 20, which was coming in at 90 hertz.
It’S also got a 360 hertz touch, sampling rate cameras, the main unit i mentioned earlier 64 megapixels, that’s a sony imx682 sensor. The wide angle is eight megapixels. That macro i was goofing around with is five megapixels there’s also a 2 megapixel depth of field camera. This unit has an improvement on the 5g antenna. The battery is 4200 milliamp hours charging up at 65 watts and actually the thickness of the phone went down a little bit 7.8 millimeters for this year’s model compared to 7.98. The last time around got lighter too 189 grams down from 198..
Oh and let’s talk about pricing as well, this model, i’m playing with eight gigs of ram 128 storage, is going to start around 499 us if you step up to the 12 gig ram 256 storage model, it’s another 100 bucks at 5.99 availability starts september. 9Th i’ll have a link in the description, so you can check that out. You don’t even see the camera there’s! No, it’s even mo with the long lens can’t pick that up. They really didn’t, prove it it’s going to continue to get better, i’m sure of it. So i’m glad companies are pushing towards that. You don’t have to have the cut out hole, punch or whatever it happens to be. Instead, we can move towards this future. That’S lovely and wonderful and remember: i got a bunch of them.
