8 of the BEST features on the Pixel 8 series!

Hi, this is Wayne again with a topic “8 of the BEST features on the Pixel 8 series!”.
The pixel 8 series is official, we have the pixel 8 and the pixel 8 Pro and we’re super excited about these devices. So we wanted to go over 8 things that we love about the pixel8 series. The first thing we love about the pixel8 series is the pixel 8 Pro having a flat display. This is something that we’ve never seen on a pro phone from Google before previously the pixel 6 and the pixel 7 Pro both had curved displays, which, in theory, give you a little bit more of a waterfall Edge so that you can get more immersed into your Content, but it makes gestures on the phone not nearly as nice to do so. We’Re really excited to see flat display finally come to the pro Lev version up.

Next we have the matte back of the pixel 8 Pro now. The pixel 8 doesn’t have a matte back, but the pixel 8 Pro Series does all three colors have matte backs and there is no fingerprints being left behind. It feels silky smooth to the touch we love matte backs on pretty much everything, but it’s especially on the pixel 8 Pro. The third feature is called Zoom enhance.

Unfortunately, I can’t show you this one, because it’s not available yet, but at the keynote Google showed off what it can do. Basically, if you take a photo and then you zoom in on that photo you’re going to get a very pixelated image, but using generative AI, you can zoom in on a photo that you’ve already taken and the AI will replace those blurry pixels with Crystal Clear pixels. Basically, allowing you to zoom in on any photo and getting a terrific image. We’Re really excited give this a shot, and we really hope it lives up to the potential that Google says it does.

The fourth thing we love about. The pixel 8 series is class 3 Face Unlock. What does that mean on all other pixel phones, except for the pixel 4? If you use Face Unlock you, don’t get the same level of biometric security as you do using a fingerprint sensor.

So when you want to unlock a banking app or you want to do an NFC payment at a terminal somewhere, you have to unlock the phone using your fingerprint and not your face. That is not the case with the pixel 8 series on both both the pixel 8 and the pixel 8 Pro you can use Face, Unlock in place of a fingerprint sensor and get the same level of security. We’Ve never seen this on a pixel phone before now.

You have the best of both worlds. You want to use a fingerprint great. If you want to use Face Unlock great either one is going to give you the same level of security at number five. We have the Pro Camera controls now.

This might seem ridiculous to think about because when you think of pixel phones, you think of cameras, but there hasn’t been a Pro system on a pixel phone since forever. So if you ever wanted to take a picture using a pixel phone, you just have to trust that Google’s going to give you the best shot that it can. But now the pixel 8 Pro is going to have Pro controls, allowing you to control the iso and the aperture and all the other things the professional photographers use when they want to take a great shot. Unfortunately, this looks like it’s only coming to the pixel 8. Pro so, if you buy the pixel 8, you will not have access to this.

Google told us that it might come to the pixel 7 Pro, but it made no promises at number. Six. We have the incredibly bright displays on the pixel 8 and the pixel 88 Pro the pixel 8 goes all the way up to 2,000 nits. Now, if you’ll remember, that’s the same Peak brightness that we saw on the iPhone 15 Pro Series, so in other words a $ 6.99 phone from Google achieves the same level of brightness as an $ 1.99 price from Apple and the pixel 8 Pro goes even further Than that to 2400 nits that is incredibly bright and should allow the phone to look great, even when you’re outdoors in bright sunlight coming up at number seven, we have video boost now when you’ve taken a photo using a pixel phone you’ve gotten computational photography out of It Google will enhance the colors and make things sharper and do all sorts of different things using the computational smarts of the smartphone. But when you take a video, it just comes out as a video, not so anym more with video boost. What you’ll do is you’ll. Take your video upload it to Google’s Cloud. Google will then process every single frame of that video with its computational photography, smarts and then allow you to redownload that video and get a crisp amazing video image that you wouldn’t be able to get on your own. Now this is another feature that we don’t have access to yet so we can’t see it for ourselves, but we’re hoping that what Google said on the keynote stage is what it transfers to real life situations.

Last but certainly not least, we have the 7 years of os upgrades coming to the pixel 8 series. This is unprecedented in the Android world and it’s a really really big deal. Basically up until this year.

The longest update commitment we had from a major Android manufacturer was Samsung, which offers four Android upgrades and 5 years of security updates. Now, with Google pixel, we have 7 years of Android security updates, 7 years of os upgrades and 7 years of feature drops making the Google pixel 8 series the best investment you can make. If you want to keep your phone for an extended period of time once again, this is incredibly exciting and sets a new bar.

Now, all the other Android manufacturers are going to have to work hard to meet this new bar that Google has set there. You have it. Those are the eight things that we are super excited about with the pixel 8 series. Of course, we’re going to have to run all these things through our usual test to come to our absolute conclusion about what we think about the pixel8 series, but that’ll be later on when we post our full reviews of the two phones until then stay tuned to The Android authority YouTube channel where we’ll be posting all sorts of pixel news coming up. .
